Fox92 Posted 18 February 2016 Posted 18 February 2016 Bet you didn't say that when he scored the winner against norwich I've never really rated Schlupp. He has all this pace people talk about that he never uses.
MPH Posted 18 February 2016 Posted 18 February 2016 Are you telling me if Barcelona, Real Madrid, Juventus decided they wanted a quick goal scorer up top that Vardy wouldn't leave Leicester to join them? Especially if they offered to double his salary? Cmon... what i'm telling you is that it wont be happening and Jamie knows that - we will not break a new contract and its all in our hands - thats why we got him to sign a new deal? Now in a couple of years time IF WE WANT TO SELL HIM, we might listen to an offer... but Jamie will know we are not a selling club and he was the one who just signed a contract knowing that,,,, He is fully aware he just gave his best years to Leicester City.
MPH Posted 18 February 2016 Posted 18 February 2016 we should start schlupp to run the opposition ragged (black man with pace) when the opposition are tired bring on Gray (black man with pace and brain) with the game in the bag, shut up shop by bringing on Wasilewski (big man with goatee) Worked last game didnt it....

Guest CityFan 06 Posted 18 February 2016 Posted 18 February 2016 I certainly feel we need another striker, although this depends whether Kramaric stays or moves on to another club. Hopefully we can stick to what we're good at in the summer by bringing in quality players who suit us and our style. I have faith that additions will be bought in who will continue to improve us as a squad.

fuchsntf Posted 18 February 2016 Posted 18 February 2016 In addition to the money coming in from finishing in the top four, champions league etc further amounts can/will be raised by selling the following: Simpson - £3m. Has played well above expectations, but not good enough for the level we are aspiring to. King - £2m. A good servant, and thanks for the memories Andy but we need something better to progress to the next stage. Inler - £3m. Hasn't worked out. Not really suited to our style. Benny - £4m. Ditto. Moore - £0.5m. Thanks Liam, but you are out of your depth. Dyer - back to Swansea. Best years are behind him. Ulloa - £7m. Good first season, but off the space second time round. Kramaric - £6m. A bit like Inler. He's not suited to our fast counter attacks. Wazilewski - contract not renewed. Thanks big man, but now time to move on. James - £2m. A little harsh, but need to free up funding for a more experienced player to come in. Total - £32m.. Too early, stop playing football manager..!! James stays. Others to stay, because you cant just make multiple changes, without upsetting ethos and rythm of team. I dont want to be another Man.city. I dont want to be another Newcastle. Lets see how our season pans out before..going ott. Greedy greedy thoughts have killed many clubs.
gurru991 Posted 18 February 2016 Posted 18 February 2016 Be very careful how much you change this team. It got where it is by being a team & playing team football. Newcastle & Manure have proven that you can't buy a team .... It has to be built !!

Agree, I don't personally feel there needs to be wholesale changes or signings, perhaps 3-5 new quality players would be ideal. Important to continue what we've built within the squad, but at the same keeping the core group together is key.
UPinCarolina Posted 18 February 2016 Posted 18 February 2016 Wondering if we will try a cheeky bid for Grealish if Villa go down? Oh, God...
filbertway Posted 18 February 2016 Posted 18 February 2016 We need to bolster the squad quite dramatically (relative for us anyway) our squad is wafer thin and only a few bad tackles or suspensions away from having a pretty ineffective starting line up. I'd expect us to be signing 6 or 8 players in the summer if we finish top 3 this season and actually want to establish ourselves as a top team in this league.
hackneyfox Posted 18 February 2016 Posted 18 February 2016 Bet you didn't say that when he scored the winner against norwich I did. He's ok if we're in the bottom third, not good enough at the level we're hoping to be at next season.

sdb Posted 18 February 2016 Posted 18 February 2016 Quality forward, centre back and right back. Not sure anything else will be required. Depends on the likes of Was, Inler and James.
MPH Posted 18 February 2016 Posted 18 February 2016 So he's just being sensible then? By your logic? That's not the same as loyalty? Now you're putting words into my mouth. Are you really that desperate to win an Argument?
les-tah Posted 18 February 2016 Posted 18 February 2016 agree with the careful and build a team point. That why we need about 4 players and they should be young up and coming 'going' to be world class, like kantes and mahrez's.

As soon as we are guaranteed Champions league football, we will be going back in to meet the release clause for Musa.
dayday Posted 18 February 2016 Posted 18 February 2016 We cannot stand still , as said we have a few ageing players , so definitely need to strengthen.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 18 February 2016 Posted 18 February 2016 As soon as we are guaranteed Champions league football, we will be going back in to meet the release clause for Musa. Ah right sounds good. I've been very impressed with him from what I've seen and he is the type of calibre of player we should be trying to sign this summer IMO. I think he would suit us perfectly given the descriptions I've read about him. Can play wing/forward apparently too.
truebluethroughandthrough Posted 18 February 2016 Posted 18 February 2016 he whole context of this thread appears to be on the assumption we make the champs league no one is counting their chickens, it is however a conversation which will need to had. paraphrasing don claudio 'its ok for the fans to dream but the team must keep their feet on the ground'...which im sure they will be we also as fans dont need to keep clinging to the past, expecting things to go wrong, the setup here and now is in place to get this SOO right... Fair enough, it just seemed you were seeing it as a foregone conclusion. But I do agree the backroom staff need to be identifying possible targets for whatever the outcome, and I'm sure they are. But speculation on who are our targets seems premature considering the distance to the finishing line. The odd thing is, I've been confident all season, as early as November I backed us to finish top four, even had an each way on us winning it then too. But the nearer we get to the end, the closer we get to actually achieving something truly remarkable, I wouldn't be surprised if the players the fans and the management feel exactly the same apprehension at some point to what I feel at the moment. I don't know whether it's fear or excitement, maybe both. Every time I think of possible outcomes to this season, I genuinely become overwhelmed with emotion. I'm not kidding, I'm like a neurotic hag on the rag whose just dropped her last tampon down the toilet. I just can't control it. So forgive my outburst mate its the bloody nerves kicking in.

Made me laugh. I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much. I did try to imagine how I'd feel if we finish top. I think I'll probably be like a looney ADHD kid on his 5th espresso. I'll be able to die happy if we pull this off.

GlennyFox55 Posted 18 February 2016 Posted 18 February 2016 Look at everton and west brom in the summer we can just say no if anyone comes sniffing around.
Guest Col city fan Posted 18 February 2016 Posted 18 February 2016 Now you're putting words into my mouth. Are you really that desperate to win an Argument? No, I just genuinely don't think you have an argument. Vardy has assessed his options and has been rewarded with a lucrative contract. But that has nothing to do with any loyalty to the club.

But that has nothing to do with any loyalty to the club. In an interview on sky he said" I owe everything to Leicester" seems reasonably clear?
