Turk123 Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 Until its mathematically impossible, you can never say never in football HOWEVER you are allowed to say "highly unlikely" Man City's chances are really low, especially because they need to beat 3 different teams to reach the crown. with the fixture advantage Arsenal has, i regard them as the greatest threat to Leicester
Nick Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 I'm not sure what fixtures mean toward the end of the season. In the last few weeks I'd rather play a mid table club like Chelsea rather than a Sunderland or Swansea.
Dan Posted 13 March 2016 Posted 13 March 2016 They are but they won't do it. I don't think they've got the desire.
Suggy fox Posted 13 March 2016 Posted 13 March 2016 Man city can win it as can arse and spuds. Thing is we have been amazing and if we continue to be so then we will be the champions of England. It doesn't matter if we win it or not it's still the best season we have ever had.
Donut Posted 13 March 2016 Posted 13 March 2016 The fact they arent chasing us directly is one problem. They are relying on us slipping up, them hitting sparkling form AND Spurs and Arsenal not cashing in on it. Which is highly unlikely. But they dont inspire confidence from the back either, and they look one paced and devoid of ideas. Too many players have passed their best and like Dan says, i dont thinkthe hunger is there. The squad is about to be radically changed, end of an era.
WesMorganGod Posted 13 March 2016 Posted 13 March 2016 No they are not, it ended when they lost De Bryne. in the next 9 they will win a few and draw a few and lose a few.
foxinsox Posted 13 March 2016 Posted 13 March 2016 I have faith in our team. No major injuries and each playing at a level that is the best of their lives. To any objective observer it is hard to see us losing another match. We should win with games to spare. It is only the fear that we are somehow fraudulent in our position that stops us from saying it. BTW yesterday was not Man City's game in hand. That is Newcastle Away, postponed for the League Cup final, and seemingly not yet rescheduled.
shailen Posted 13 March 2016 Posted 13 March 2016 9 points is a huge mountain to climb, so I'd say yes to them and Arsenal being out the title race. Having said that if we go through some bad form and lose 2/3 we can let them back in, so really it's in our hands which is always a good thing. I hope we can remain composed and see this through because it would be one hell of an achievement and quite possibly the biggest upset in sport ever.
NotTheMarketLeader Posted 13 March 2016 Posted 13 March 2016 I'm pretty down on us generally but we're quite clearly "one of the best sides in England". I doubt any side outside of us, Man United, Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool have taken 82 points from any 38 game period in the last 20 years. The only question is whether we are the best side in England. Mate, for the last twelve months we have been the best team in England, with us collecting 10pts (?) more than any other team. End of. The only question is can we stamp our place in history with the title win?
katieakita Posted 13 March 2016 Posted 13 March 2016 With their world famous fighting spirit and backbone not sure Arsenal's run in can be classed as easy, away games at Everton,West Ham,Man City and Sunderland, they probably thought Swansea at home was a given, listening to their fans they thought Man Utd away was a formality and United are poor. People say Spurs next couple are a given Villa away and Bournemouth at home, games we took 2 points from so not such a formality. Their is still a slim chance still for even Utd or Liverpool to win the league but that requires all around them faltering and them winning about every game. West Ham are bang on form but their form in the last six is no better than Spurs or Liverpool and more importantly no better than ours. All we need to do is take one game at a time starting tomorrow if we perform how we have been doing whatever our rivals do we will finish top as long as we keep performing and getting results we can let our rivals worry about their own games. As for Man City course they are in it but needing to win and it will probably will need all 9 remaining fixtures and asking for other teams to under perform is a big ask, think they will do well to win 6 and get a couple of draws, which would give them 71 points, probably 4 or 5 short.
MC Prussian Posted 13 March 2016 Posted 13 March 2016 Theoretically, they still are in the mix and I wouldn't want to underestimate any Top Four/Six team's ability to string a winning run together up until the end of the season. There's still 27 points to play for. Let's see where both teams stand in about a month or so, with only four or five games remaining.
ithuriel Posted 13 March 2016 Posted 13 March 2016 I think they have blown it, they do not look like a team that has the confidence or even the will to win it. They have their bit of Silverware for the season and some of them are probably already looking at where they will be next season. As for us, I've been following Leicester for so long, I will not truly believe we can win it until we have hopefully lifted that trophy.
maynefox Posted 13 March 2016 Posted 13 March 2016 Nope. They were out of the title race when their manager announced he's leaving at the end of the season. No hunger or drive to win the title, and why would you when you have got a manger going out. They're a class team of individuals, not a team. They'll be lucky to get top 4 in my opinion.
MakingEmileOfIt Posted 13 March 2016 Posted 13 March 2016 If Arsenal are in the title race then Man City are. Simple.
Number 6 Posted 13 March 2016 Posted 13 March 2016 They'd have to be pretty immaculate for the last 9. They've shown no signs of it and yet I think they're probably the most likely of the top 4 to win all 9 as the ability is there. Looks like they can't be arsed though and suspect focus with switch to champion's league.
Les-TA-Jon Posted 13 March 2016 Posted 13 March 2016 Well it doesn't look good for them.... Arsenal and Man City have both got to get pretty much maximum points to finish on 77, meanwhile we can drop a whopping 10 points...
Gerard Posted 13 March 2016 Posted 13 March 2016 Anyone writing off Man City now then by definition doesn't care if they win, lose or draw their next match because they're out of the title race. Is that what you people think?
sdb Posted 13 March 2016 Posted 13 March 2016 They're still in it. Very favourable run in. Can see them winning 8 of their 9.
katieakita Posted 13 March 2016 Posted 13 March 2016 If you include United West Ham are not out of it.
Sionnach gorm Posted 13 March 2016 Posted 13 March 2016 It is a long shot, but any top 5 teams have a chance. Perhaps the only one that may be out of it is Man U. It would mean dropping a huge number of games by the top five teams for them to win it. Unlikely.
fuchsntf Posted 13 March 2016 Posted 13 March 2016 Man.city, are out of it for 2 simple reasons. Spurs and Leicester are playing the football this season, and holding a consistent high level. This season, these 2 clubs fans should be enjoying each others company. Banter yes but not bickering like spoilt brats. With the shit going off all around the world, we should really be enjoying the entertainment these 2 are producing. Forget immature london media, who really dish out nonsense.Forget TV platforms That show outragous London Bias. Thats their equivilant to Viagra. Enjoy the story be played out in front of us, we cant fast forward or flip to the last page, forget for a moment the opposition fans, these 2 teams are throwing out performances, other richer clubs should be delivering.Spurs should be the better team because of their so called better squad, and more expensive players, but they aint, but that doesnt degrade, the competition and skill, both these 2 Clubs are producing.Let the better team win. Both are deserving, sorry spurs mates, but.....
