I reckon 4 more wins. 4 more little wins.

Need at least 5, maybe 6. I still expect spuds to win 6 or 7 of their matches. Hope I'm wrong because I'm shattered after tonight and don't know how much more I can take!!

Fair play to Rafa in his post match interview. No complaints, no excuses, looking for the positive and gave us credit. Gone up in my estimation..

We should have had a pen and your goal was offside.

Refs are just so inconsistent.

And we had a better appeal for a pen when Huth was dog-piled by two of your defenders during a corner. As for offside - no it wasn't. The first ball in is, but Taylor flicks it on. It's the same law that means if you make a stupid short backpass the offside rule won't save your face.

Haha!

Clearly hits his elbow as he sticks it out as he turns.

Clear penalty,

Well no - he turns to open his back up, tucks his arms into his body. He has no clue where the ball is, doesn't move his arms out into an unnatural position. It's hit his elbow tucked in, but you simply cannot justify a handball decision there unless you don't understand even the first bit of the rule.

If it had been their player we'd have been screaming for it.

Always going to be a dangerous fixture once they sacked McClaren, they fought well but a bit of quality won the game for us

Agreed. This was a different Newcastle side than the one under McClaren. Credit to our team for grinding it out.

Spot on and even Kilbane said in commentary Drinky was off tonight! Astonishing he could get it???

Drinkwater was 6/10 at best.Kante appeared on the edge of their box, then he comes back 70 yards to drop in at left back. I always thought Neil Lennon was a grafter but Kante is next level.

Sticks his elbow out! It's so obvious!

It isn't a penalty, Morgan doesn't know much about it, he pulls his arm in there was nothing unnatural about it... it was similar to the penalty Spurs got against us in the cup, which was never a penalty either...

It was a natural body posture, with his movement and action while trying to block, other then flinging his arms out, this was the only method to keep his arms close. There was no direct intention...

Don't watch his hand, watch his elbow.

That's one game I'll never watch again! It reminded me of the championship games of old...at least we didn't concede in the last minute this time! Fantastic effort from the lads even though it wasn't a great attacking performance at all. Think we have a good chance for a solid mid table finish now :D

Nothing natural about that elbow movement

Some seriously blue tinted specs in this thread!

lol
