Collymore Posted 6 April 2016 Author Posted 6 April 2016 for a 60k seater stadium i think you are looking at at least 100 million pounds. Will that be wise money? I think it would be better to get some top dollar architects to look at ways to expand the current stadium more than the 8k it can currently be expanded upon. Plus keeping a more central location would be a much better consideration for the fans. 100m is one season in the prem. Its also an investment, not like money down the drain which can happen when buying players.
howlinmadmurfdoc Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 Can anyone remember the last time we bought a new stadium? I seem to remember the financial implications ended up being somewhat more serious than we thought. I
Collymore Posted 6 April 2016 Author Posted 6 April 2016 Chelsea have been in a 41,000 stadium for years.A lot of teams close by. Man U would need 40k in London. Liverpool 80k without Everton etc. We're likely to start taking more fans from Biimgham with the demise of Villa.

Yeah I know loads of Villa fans that live in Leicester from when we were shit and they were good
Benguin Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 Haven't got the faintest clue about structural engineering or architecture, how bug would it be possible to expand the kp too? Could we get another 15k seats and it look good?
Voll Blau Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 Collymore reminds me of that mad gangster car salesman who built that massive gaff in Darlington.
Collymore Posted 6 April 2016 Author Posted 6 April 2016 Yeah I know loads of Villa fans that live in Leicester when we were shit and they were good IF we become champion League regulars you'll see... Collymore reminds me of that mad gangster car salesman who built that massive gaff in Darlington.George Reynolds?
Stadt Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 IF we become champion League regulars you'll see... "IF" It's very speculative, lets next season pan out before doing anything ridiculous. Currently expanding to 40,000 is about right.
mozartfox Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 Ground share with Forest, knock down the KP and build a big Duty Free shop. or stay where we are and try to expand one of the sides.
sdb Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 I think that top 4 finishes are an absolute guarantee for many years to come, that 60k fans every week for a team that was pulling in 25k 2 years ago is reasonable, and that the money required wouldn't make a dent in our finances. Let's do it!!! In all seriousness, I think we need to see where things go over the next 12 months before anything is done. Realistically, we'll not have another season like this for many years. An expansion to 40k maybe, but bear in mind how most 'fans' come and go as they please, depending on success. How many new member s has this place had in the last 6 months, for example?

We're not going to find another 30,000 permanent match-going Leicester City fans because of one incredible year.
promised land Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 Tell that to members who can't get tickets! Where were they then when us STH kept renewing season after season and 10000 seats were empty at every game? Eh? Eh? Oh what's that? work, family, money excuses but now they've all magically disappeared just as we're doing well. :) :)
Bedford Fox Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 One step at a time. Expand the kp is the first step.
SpacedX Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 Out of town stadiums can fvck off quite frankly. What a daft idea. Does anyone remember the Wheatcroft proposals? Was verging on out of the county.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 I think the sentiment is right in terms of wanting to contiune to develop as a bigger football club at the highest level of English football. To be even discussing things like expanding the stadium and building a new one really shows how far we've come as a club, and the statement of what success brings.
GaelicFox Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 There is loads of room to develop the east stand to 3 tiers They need to crack on with it

Guest Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 Sell the KP to MKDONS. Build a new stadium on the south side, preferably within walking distance of Luton Airport. Incorporate a basketball court in the design and open the UK's first NBA franchise. Include a giant bank to hold all the money we will make. Rent out surplus fans to less well supported teams. Let's make sure we have a home, away, third kit, plus special edition Champion's League 4th kit. And one of those miniature bonsai gardens in the car park to calm traffic.

stripeyfox Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 £100m?! Are we making it out of paper mache? You are looking at £300m+. I thought this. £100m wouldn't go far Besides it's a terrible idea, even if money wasn't an issue.
AKCJ Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 we should just buy Leicester city council and build whatever we like.
Guest Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 In all seriousness, I wouldn't want to leave the KP just as it's starting to develop a bit of history. It could do with some improvement and I'm all for expanding it as soon as feasibly possible. I know it's been discussed at length on another thread, and I'm sure somebody posted a link from a structural engineering explaining the situation with the foundation. From what I remember, the foundation isn't ideal, but all that means is that it would need to be upgraded as well. Not cheap but not prohibitively expensive or difficult. Think some other club had to do similar when expanding there stadium. But I forget who.
