Collymore Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 Let's build a new one. My idea would be to rent or sell the KP to the Tigers and completely build a new 60k stadium somewhere in the City or on the outskirts, possibly Fosse Park area. We could easily afford this and this would truly take us on to the next level. What do you think and can you think of any good areas of land available to build on?
Darkon84 Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 Why on earth would the Tigers want to buy the KP after just investing so much in improving their own. And why would our owners want to fork out so much money to build a new one when the current one is more than adequate anyway? Seems like madness to me.
Gerard Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 I don't think the Tigers would want to buy it after spending on updating their old one just recently.
Rincewind Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 Would not be easy to get to for those walking and without transport. And where is the nearest pre/post match pub?
Collymore Posted 6 April 2016 Author Posted 6 April 2016 I don't think the Tigers would want to buy it after spending on updating their old one just recently. Knock it down and sell it to housing developers then?

If things go sour in the future then having a stadium in the outskirts of the city would really affect attendances. Look at Coventry. Having worked in Coventry and driving around near where the Ricoh is, then you realise how far it is away from anything really, apart from a retail park. Which is basically the same as us having a stadium at fosse park. Keep the stadium, buy all of the surrounding areas, knock down the Citroen dealership (seriously who still buys Citroen!!??) and develop the whole area
kingcarr21 Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 just buy the tigers ground and connect the 2 together to have a huge super stadium
C-man Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 Easily afford it?! Arsenal have been paying for theirs for the last 10 years (supposedly) and are 100x bigger than us. Admire ambition but that's lunacy.
ramboacdc Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 Coalville. yes! Let's build a new one. What do you think and can you think of any good areas of land available to build on? easilly afford it? you do realise how much stadiums cost and we still owe the owners millions in debt money?

Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 knock down the Citroen dealership (seriously who still buys Citroen!!??) I call them "shitrun" AFAIK
Voll Blau Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 Out of town stadiums can fvck off quite frankly. What a daft idea.
Collymore Posted 6 April 2016 Author Posted 6 April 2016 Are we not struggling to expand because of the concrete we originally used? Is this why we can't have concerts there too? I like the idea of buying the block and them knocking the KP down and then building a new monster there...
jonthefox Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 We should use it to play the reserves in That's what the Ricoh's for.
AKCJ Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 telling citroen to do one is a cracking idea really. would mean we could cram another 13 burger vans in I reckon
howlinmadmurfdoc Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 Knock the chuffing Highcross down and build it bang in the city centre. Although we don't actually need to expand.

Sol thewall Bamba Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 That's what the Ricoh's for. I forgot that time our U21s played their, what a piss take that was
RonnieTodger Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 I'm not sure if you're serious. Can't our current ground be expanded to 40,000? That would be perfect.
MPH Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 for a 60k seater stadium i think you are looking at at least 100 million pounds. Will that be wise money? I think it would be better to get some top dollar architects to look at ways to expand the current stadium more than the 8k it can currently be expanded upon. Plus keeping a more central location would be a much better consideration for the fans.
Collymore Posted 6 April 2016 Author Posted 6 April 2016 I'm not sure if you're serious. Can't our current ground be expanded to 40,000? That would be perfect. 40k is no good.
RonnieTodger Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 40k is no good. Chelsea have been in a 41,000 stadium for years.
