Leicester City v West Ham post match thread 2 - 2

Not a dive, their player has a hand on him and then their legs tangle. Yes Vardy moves into him, but it's still a tangle. Not a sending off.

As long as he's not trying to win a penalty by throwing his legs into the opponent and make it look like a foul then I agree, it's not a yellow. Weird thing to do though for a laugh when you can just have a shot.

Incredible result given the circumstances. Shame Vardy will be out vs Swansea but we should still cope

Hope the ref is investigated for that disgraceful showing. Worst I've witnessed by far this year. Maybe that will shut up the Spurs fans saying how lucky we are all the time?

Tough game, and we played much better than we have previously at times. Thought the schlupp sub was a little too early.

We've been asking for trouble at times in the box and kept giving moss the chance to make a name for himself.

West Ham gave us as good as they got, without the same scrutiny from the ref. Heskey just made a good point, moss was looking for reasons to give pens in our box but he wasn't at the other end.

Great commitment, desire and work rate but that goes without saying these days.

He has the ball, the defender has a hand on him, he can't exactly get away and create space.

I'm struggling to see how that can be a yellow card

I must say I agree with that. It's not a dive but it was definitely avoidable.

I'm still in shock here lol

The fact we're even talking about decisions just shows you how little control the ref had on the game. He didn't stamp an authority on it and we're talking about half fouls and yellow cards that never should have been instead of a win/draw/loss that was fair and just. He's ruined the game, he was whistle happy the entire game and now it's all about him when in reality the players deserve a lot of credit for not killing the mother****er for 90 + 4 minutes.

West Ham were a decent outfit. We kept Payet quiet which not many teams can say and obviously they were going to have more of the game when Vardy went off. I don't think we were in trouble at all in the first half, minus the free kick. Bilic was respectful at the end all things considered too which was nice to see and I hope they do well from here on out. Good side, good manager, good fans.

According to Henry the criteria for giving decisions depends on whether or not the ref has recently reminded the offender of what the rules are, if the offender hasn't had a reminder it's fine to let it go. Don't remember seeing that one in the laws of the game.

Probably should have been a pen when Huth bodychecked Reid before we scored on the counter. Vardy has done a vardy and thrown his legs into the defender and tried to win a pen, rightfully booked I'd say. Thought both pens were incredibly soft.

Great pens by Carrol and Leo.

I'll take a draw.

Over to you Stoke!

Glad to see someone has some sense around here, everyone else wearing blue tinted specs really

That might have something to do with us not having any corners!

Got to say, it wasn't as if we weren't warned - the reason we were getting away with it was probably because the West Ham players were giving as much back most of the time.

Reid was the first incident where he didn't do too much grappling and Wes was clearly guilty - the check back into him by Reid was clever, but we had been asking for that (for months considering some of the challenges that have been highlighted in our own box on tv etc of late).

Such a bad and one sided refereeing performance you wonder if its only incompetence?  Given that the football establishment do not want City to win the title.

Don't talk shit. The ref was a cvnt but there's no plot.

Because he tried to cheat.... what's so hard to understand? He shouldn't have been on a booking in the first place, but he was.

I this one, you see the defender pull him back, then the legs tangle.

Not a discussion in my opinion.

He did the same thing against Monreal, and probably plenty of others. It was bound to come back and bite him at some point. It was annoying that he got sent off because of a poor decision for his first yellow.

I doubt we'll agree on this anyway, if we can see the video evidence from many different angles and still not agree, then I can't see it happening :D

That Schlupp pen! Hahaha. Moss has somehow just about balanced this up I think with an absolutely apalling display for both teams.

He set a weird precedent in that first half with yellows for the smallest of things.

I thought vardy dived

Wasnt a pen for hammers but both teams were at it all game and the ref even had a word with morgan and huth prior.

huth then should get the peno so we were shafted there.

Our peno was very soft so just when i think our luck has ran out.........

end of the day we drop points, chance for spurs to catch up a little.

no vardy against swansea

COME ON POTTERS!

Anyone debating whether Vardy was a dive or not should wonder if they are taking hero worship a bit too far.  Blatant dive, easy card, sorry.

This Ref was poor gave fouls but let others go.

The first half he gave cards for tackles when he failed to penalise worse.

That said we were resilient, got reward but probably not we deserved.

What character!

Then I think you need to check your glasses.

Facts:

Vardy knocks it past the defender

Defender pulls him back

By pulling him back he pulls him into him

Legs get tangled

It isn't a second yellow. If you can't see that, then please don't drive.

Was the refreee a Spurs fan? After those horrible decisions a draw is absolutely ok. This is an important point, losing today would have been extremely discouraging for the players.

Posted

The ref was rubbish but it isn't because he wanted us to lose just too bloody inconsistent , and it is frustrating when things go against you like that yet the opposition seemingly get away with similar.

Posted

it weren't a clear dive....he tried to win a penalty by tangling his legs with the defender. at most you can say there was contact and it was debateable, but to book him for simulation was wrong... as there was a clear coming together. vardy could say in his defence he was trying to run across the defender towards goal.... never a yellow card.

and it doesn't change the first yellow, which was never a yellow either.

BAD DECISION by the ref
