smr Posted 8 May 2016 Posted 8 May 2016 Reliving yesterday on Sky Sports News this morning, goosebumps and watery eyes and a warm fuzzy feeling! Strikes a chord with me that everything about the way we won the title and celebrated is absolute class from the very top drawer... a humble "smaller" club with not as much money as the big boys, a humble manager with zero arrogance, a squad of players with zero ego or arrogance who'd die for eachother to the way Andrea Bocelli came to sing at the start of the game. I've never seen, in the 20 odd years of Premier League history, a club put on such a classy display celebration wise, nothing was tacky. When I look back at the likes utd or chelsea winning the league they never put on anything like us did they? Nothing like the sense of occassion we made. Absolute class, so proud of our club.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 8 May 2016 Posted 8 May 2016 Indeed. A part of me hopes that we never become one of those clubs that "expect" to win the league. I think that would just be boring and this is so much better!
foxtillidrop Posted 8 May 2016 Posted 8 May 2016 The performance by Bocelli was a real display of class - I have no words to describe how proud it made me to be an LCFC supporter.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 8 May 2016 Posted 8 May 2016 Something I didn't spot at the time and have only just realised... The lads changed back to this season's shirts for the trophy presentation!
Finnaldo Posted 8 May 2016 Posted 8 May 2016 Had to settle with pre-match and trophy lifting on TV but still looked and sounded incredible, almost resonated all the way to Earl Shilton! However I did go Town that night and wow. It really was an incredible night. Went straight off the bus to the Spoons in town and it was full to the rafters with people singing, and as for the centre itself there's few words to describe. Totally unplanned but the old bill to their credit let the fans do their thing. It was almost like a festival how ever hundred metres there would be a couple of bloke on a telephone box with champagne, a flag or a blow up trophy and a couple hundred people flanking them singing their hearts out and just enjoying the occasion. The Italians with their banners boosted the atmosphere and passion when I thought that was impossible and then come the Hare fvcking Krishnas with their drums. It was unreal. Even when you finished in one group and went to the next there was people on the Lloyds Bank building ledges waving flags and singing. Best night the city will see in a long long time. Unforgettable.
footballfox Posted 8 May 2016 Posted 8 May 2016 If we bought few super stars perhaps we could not win the league since some of them are very ego and too ego to involve the team system. Some failed teams with many super stars could win every match if the have the same hearts as Foxes.
Manwell Pablo Posted 8 May 2016 Posted 8 May 2016 Is town still going..... ****ing mental I had to get the last train out as it was the only way out the city
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 8 May 2016 Posted 8 May 2016 Is town still going..... ****ing mental I had to get the last train out as it was the only way out the city I'm in the city now, still buzzing and City shirts everywhere.
Manwell Pablo Posted 8 May 2016 Posted 8 May 2016 Are their still sharking Italians everywhere. Watching them all trying to pull with broken English was amazing
Bryn Posted 8 May 2016 Posted 8 May 2016 The whole affair was very classy. Think the club really shone.
Nuneatonfox in Manchester Posted 8 May 2016 Posted 8 May 2016 What a Day! Pre-match in the local hero was unreal, anyone see that guys car parked right in the middle of all the celebrations. Would love to see the state of that this morning
mundella boy Posted 8 May 2016 Posted 8 May 2016 Got the train to Leicester from Lincoln yesterday.Had a great day, the atmosphere was fantastic everybody seemed happy.Got the last train back at about8.30 where the party continued all the way home.Only met 2 knobheads all day couple Forest fans that said city are a shit team and they moved seats to get away from us..Bloody miserable sods.
Larry_LCFC Posted 8 May 2016 Posted 8 May 2016 I have never seen a team/city celebrate winning the EPL like we have - probably because its been the same few for years and they are used to winning it. For Leicester, it is the most monumental thing ever probably and we did it justice with our response. Incredible scenes.
promised land Posted 8 May 2016 Posted 8 May 2016 Are their still sharking Italians everywhere. Watching them all trying to pull with broken English was amazing They were top draw yesterday, certainly added a lot of atmosphere to the day.One of my favourite videos I took, blokes in the new M4 cab in the centre was loving it, revving the nuts off his engine. https://youtu.be/J24TJ_xBmq0
KingsX Posted 8 May 2016 Posted 8 May 2016 Recorded it all and have already re-watched the celebration. The interaction of the players, the sharing with their families ... how can professional sports produce something so genuinely great, pure, uplifting, without negatives? Only this. Ever. Truly a one-off moment that could never be repeated, even by another LCFC triumph. For those of you who consider schadenfrude hangover entertainment, there's still another ten minutes worth at the Farting Cock: http://www.thefightingcock.co.uk/forum/threads/final-home-game-of-the-season-vs-southampton-08-may-1330ko.17775/page-25
fazzyfox Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 When you say everything was classy, not quite, there was this ham-fisted Blue Peter on Acid attempt from fazzyfox. Apologies to the children (and some adults) who were scared by my Coronation day outfit (with hindsight it does look like something out of The Wicker Man). There were a few toddlers running away screaming as I paced around outside the stadium before heading to a pub to watch the game (couldn't find a reasonable scouser with a spare ticket). Staggered across Victoria Park after the game and weaved like a slalom skier down London Road (the pavement that is....I think) and somehow ended up on the right train home. What a day!
