Vardy

I honestly believe we would be better off in the long term if we sell him. All of the players will be looking for enormous wages if we keep him, he is 29 and one ligament injury (or just the passing of time) away from becoming ineffective due to loss of explosive pace. Parallels can be drawn to Southampton but we are in a much better position to replace players than they were. Any replacement to Kante/Mahrez/Vardy will be first team champions league players. We can build a squad for a very bright future.

The only upsides I can see to keeping him is 1) we keep a cult hero striker; although this is a little sentimental maybe 2) other players are possibly more likely to stay

We are making our first champs league appearance, we want the team we just won the league with so we can make a good fist of it and try to get out the group. Call it short term thinking but the short term is a massive deal to us right now.

NO VARDY DECISION

There will be no further developments today on the future of Jamie Vardy.

Arsenal are keen wrap up a deal for the striker after meeting his release clause at Leicester but Sky sources understand nothing will be confirmed in the immediate future.

Arsenal and Wenger are the villains in all of this they want a quick answer why shouldn't Vardy take his time and discuss it with whoever. If I got offered a job I wouldn't decide there and then I would want it, I would ask for time to think about it not 12 hours or whatever.

VARDY ON BOARD

Jame Vardy, incidentally, boarded the plane along with his England colleagues which suggests there'll be no medical examination at Arsenal in the next few hours.

That tallies with what sources are telling us here at Sky Sports News HQ - there will be no update on Vardy's future today, we hear.

We had one of the oldest squads in the league last year. We can bring in some of the best young talent in Europe right now, and we won't be able to say that maybe even next year. Mahrez and Kante are younger, of the three I'd prefer to sell Vardy and bring in a promising young player. I don't see why that would cause us to lose ground in a CL group. We could get more or less the best young players around with "come and lead the line in the champions league".

If I were on our board, I'd be far more concerned about the long term future in the premier league than getting out of the group stages of a competition this season. This is the perfect time to build that future.

Surely no announcement works in our favour, will Arsenal want to wait a month to get this wrapped up considering other targets are out there? Would have thought if he was nailed on to move it would have been announced by now.

Majority of them look miserable! lol

Confirmed

Vardy smiling, Wilshere looking miserable, obviously told him he ain't joining Arsenal.

This ramadone sags cambiasso had signed for another year so I'm not getting excited.

Apparently Ramadone knows everything about the club, and doesn't believe anyone who knows a tiny bit of some news of within the club.

Wilshere looks like he's going to court for GBH and for violating his ASBO.
