Vardy

West Ham are considering an audacious bid for Jamie Vardy.

Co-chairman David Sullivan revealed yesterday the club have bid £23.7million for a player in France and are poised to follow that with another offer of up to £25m for a player in England.

Standard Sport understands West Ham are seriously considering testing the water on Vardy.

The Leicester striker signed a new deal until 2019 worth £80,000 a week in February and stands to earn a rise of £20,000 per week following the club’s Premier League triumph.

Leicester’s Thai owners insist they intend keeping their top stars including the 29-year-old, who has scored 24 League goals this season.

However, West Ham believe that, on the back of their move to the Olympic Stadium and an influx of quality players, they can attract stars of the calibre of the England forward.

David Sullivan is setting him self up for a massive fall but would be great, I'm sure but playing at a half decent stadium isn't going to attract players. I hope Payet has an incredible euro campaign and the real big boys come sniffing round.

Fishing is right, the press haven't got a clue

West Ham are poised to make a £25million move for Liverpool striker Christian Benteke this week.

And the Hammers are also set for a bidding war with London rivals Spurs after tabling a £24m offer for Marseille striker and Benteke's fellow Belgium international Michy Batshuayi.

Liverpool are aware of West Ham’s interest in their £120,000-a-week frontman, and have been for some time.

Chairman David Sullivan revealed to Mirror Sport in March that he is keen to pursue a deal if ex-Aston Villa star Benteke is willing to compromise on his wages.

Theo Walcott could leave Arsenal and head to London rivals West Ham this summer, as he searches for regular first-team action.

The England man, 27, has barely featured in Arsene Wenger's starting XI in recent months and, according to the Sun, is set on a move this summer.

West Ham are reportedly set to offer him regular action, with Arsenal holding out for a fee of £20million.

They can try

Btw, listening to his interview yesterday - why is he speaking about us as 'they' rather than 'we'.

Unless when speaking about the club, it's the players and fans (we) and then the owners/management (they). Sounded strange.

Thing is even if Vardy was to leave (which he wont) why on this earth would he join a 2 bit team like west ham?

Yep and i read Bony as well in the same breath as benteke, So in other words, they want to sign someone for loads of money, as it looks good on paper.

We will stick to scouting players

West Ham are starting to show arrogance and think they're destined for success, with this new stadium.

Still the 3/4th best London football side.

Would be a step (albeit a smallish one) down.

Just been on the West Ham forum and they seem to think they are going to be spending about 200 million on players this summer

And they still think Andy Carroll is worth 50 million

I'm sure there were people on here last year slapping a £40m price tag on Jeff's head
