That feels a huge concern in itself. I was thinking about this on the way back from Burnley. If it happens the Club needs to move very quickly. Agree for Claudio to resign and offer him the dignified post of President. appoint Rowett or Grayson. Accept that Riyad, Drinky, Kasper and Slim will go, possibly others. Clearly Leo will too. Potential income of £70 million from sales. Vardy will stay as I doubt anyone will offer him a similar wedge. The aging back line will stay, possibly Chillers too. I would imagine Mendy, Wilf, James, Kingy, Cabbage will stay. Amartey and Gray might too although might also attract interest. Lawrence and Barnes come into the fold too. Right now I would be drawing up a list of the best talent in the Championship, and league one. Look to recruit about six players in the 20 to 23 age range in June. Right back, centre back, two strikers, one winger. Start a review of the academy right now. The blueprint has to be Southampton. Action needs to be immediate come mid May

Tuna Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 When we go down, we can build the team around Chilwell, Amartey, Morgan, Kapustka, Ndidi, Barnes Gray, Ulloa, James, King and Lawrence. Musa, Mendy, Drinkwater, Fuchs, Slimani, Okazaki, Huth, Simpson, Benny, Albrighton and Vardy. West Ham would be dumb enough to take Vardy, Pulis likes a good winger so he'll take Albrighton. Give Fuchs, Okazaki, Huth and Simpson free transfers, hopefully someone will take them, Mendy will go to Spain, Musa can be loaned out, Slimani we can flog to China. People will forget how crap Drinky has become and we can probably get 25 million for him from Spuds or Newcastle. Rudkin can be sacked along with the useless Macia.

It's just my thoughts on what happens if we're relegated. I don't think Claudio will get fired before the end of the season, and at the the moment it's hard to be optimistic about the weeks ahead as our team is bereft of confidence
Guest Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 Essentially we need to go back to the nigel pearson approach to growing the club. Only hopefully with something more like ranieri's media appeal.

We have enough decent young players to build a team around. We could be like Newcastle, make a shed load of money from player sales and buy our way out of that league like they are.
Soar Fox Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 Very depressing & disappointing reading this. The current premier league champions talking about relegation and how to rebuild the squad. The team, the status, the lure of being the English champions & playing champions league football should have seen us cement ourselves into the top tier for years. The mess that the football club is currently is an absolute disgrace and not only should the squad be over hauled the whole club behind the scenes need binning as well.
splinterdream Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 isn't it strange how history repeats itself, before we appointed taylor i really thought we were breaking into the top 6, then the guy comes in and ruins us with crap signngs
Jimothy Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 Away from Leicester's troubles (and god knows there's plenty of threads on here moaning about them without turning the general premier league thread into another) it was great to see Crouch get his 100th premier league goal tonight. Seems like a genuinely likeable bloke, plus he brought back the robot to celebrate.

I was listening to the City game on Five Live earlier and they went over when Crouchy scored and the commentator goes 'It's the robot - the robot is back!'. Fortunately it wasn't the announcement of the belated sequel to Short Circuit.

TMELcfc Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 The results this week... All teams below us pick up points, we continue to be shi**. We are the worst team in the league, what a poor season after last. At least we won't be in the spotlight so much next season...

Manchester United 0-0 Hull Posted at21:46 So close to a Hull winner! A rare counter, Lazar Markovic strolls languidly into the penalty area, he does David de Gea with his eyes and casually clips a shot against the near post as De Gea dives to the far! Why did they feel the need to make that up, it didn't happen

Just seen SSNHQ do a interesting stats breakdown of the 100 out of the 26 players to achieve 100 he has the most headed goals (no surprise really) with 48 its took him the highest amount of clubs to do it with 6 95 goals were inside the box including 1 penalty hes the 4th slowest to get there only scholes gerrard and giggs was slower He is also the oldest to reach 100 goals

Crouch has often sat on the bench only to score after coming on late.
Dan Posted 2 February 2017 Posted 2 February 2017 It would be an absolute travesty if we stayed up over Hull.

They should have beat West Ham at London stadium 3/4 nill. Sitters missed and an awful decision for the penalty. Their manager looks to be doing a really good job aswell.

Mahrez will leave for Borussia Dortmund or similar. Drinkwater could rejoin Utd possibly. If they make the Champs League, as he's 'home grown'. King would stay. Vardy will leave for West Brom or similar. Huth may stay, Wes will hopefully retire. Itd be a complete clear out I think and God help us if we get lumbered with Amartey, Musa and Mendy. Zieler New signing Amartey Fuchs (assuming he stayed) Chillwell Barnes/Drinkwater if he stayed Ndidi Albrighton kapustka Gray Okazaki That'd be a tasty little team in the championship I think
