See the video above and tell me that wasn't a foul. People here would've been fuming if that was one of our players.

Pundits on Sky and NBCSN unanimously agree it's not a foul.

That includes 2 ex Arsenal players.

Maybe I was harsh questioning his desire, but a defender like John Terry is clearing that.

What challenge do you expect him to make when Alonso takes a running jump and elbows him in the face. If the roles were reversed, that would be a penalty.

The key is that Alonso got the run on him. Eyes only on the ball, leading forearm rather than elbow.

I don't like seeing honest challenges pulled up for a foul, which is the way the game is going, so I was glad the goal was given.

People saying Alonso's goal was a foul on Belerin. No way, Belerin has got to be stronger there.

"He has got to be stronger there" - a classic commentary cliche.

Alonso is taller than Bellerin, and had a running jump whereas Bellerin was caught under the ball with no momentum. Not sure how he could have stopped it.

Bellerin was jumping from a stationary position whilst Alonso had a run up on him. There was only gonna be one winner. Harsh fo criticise Bellerin for this.

shocking defending once he gets into 6 yard box.

It's actually once he gets in to the area that I think it's a little bit more forgivable. It's Coquelin just landing on his arse that's embarrassing. Just needs to wipe him out and take a booking for the team.

Once he's in the box, he's so quick and he's got momentum, you've got to be very careful not to bring him down.

Yeah true. Neville just picking up on the backing off there too.

You gotta love Conte lol

lol just bonkers

Infinitely more likable than their last gaffer. Conte strikes me as the best of Ranieri and Mourinho in one manager. Likable, polite, considerate but unashamedly passionate and clever with it. He's made Chelsea a hell of a lot harder to dislike, I've got to be honest. Arsenal's arrogance last year probably helps mind.

Yeah. He's not the most fouled player in the premier league for no reason. He's incredibly good at drawing a foul because he's just got such ridiculous reflexes and co-ordination that the second you go for the ball he's gotten it out of the way and put himself in the line of fire.

Also, the Chelsea fans singing "we want you to stay" to Wenger. lollol

He's also gracious in defeat and looks inward when losing rather than blaming the tea lady.

Love his celebrations. Goes absolute unapologetically mental lol every goal means the world for him.

Clearly we lost our most influential player by an absolute mile. A central midfielder, no less
