West Ham have failed to offer him a decent contract apparently. I would go all out for Sigurdsson. I think the biggest club to come in for him would be Everton, but other than them, I think we could be an attractive move for him if Swansea go down.
Tuna Posted 5 April 2017 Posted 5 April 2017 Capitulation in such circumstances for Swansea will be a hammer blow to their morale. 0-0 at home to Middlesbrough was such a missed opportunity for them and they lost the 6 pointer against Hull the other week. West Ham A Watford A Stoke H Man United A Everton H Sunderland A West Brom H Relegated Sunderland and on the beach West Brom should be an easy 6 points in the final few games. Hoping West Ham can sort themselves out by the time they play Swansea and Stoke have enough self respect to put a shift in.

I'd say Antonio would be excellent at RM within our system- hard working, doesn't neglect his defensive duties, quick and a goal threat. I think we could get Sigurdsson as well- if we finish the season strongly and don't lose many of our players, people will predict us to have a strong season which will be enough to entice some good players in.

Kitchandro Posted 5 April 2017 Posted 5 April 2017 Antonio would be a great signing. 5 points clear though, they aren't in the shit yet. Desperate for Allardyce to go, the fat cvnt. Things are starting to hot up at the bottom now, albeit with 2 all but down.

I think Ramirez was a logical signing in January, as we were badly needing some creative flair in the no.10 role, but I think we could potential aim higher now and Sigurdsson would be my no.1 target. Maguire absolutely and I would be trying to get Gibson too, and settle for one of those two. If we can't get Trippier, then Kyle Naughton as a back-up to Simpson? Or should we be aiming higher and to replace Simpson I wonder. We definitely need RB cover

He's quality, they analysed him on motd and he was tracking back and tackling and getting the ball deep etc. I think his work rate is decent.

He offered loads going forward and I thought he had real potential. He's just turned into a bog standard rigth back now who brings nothing in an attacking sense. He is, in some ways, another Danny Simpson. I don't think it helped his development when Spurs and Norwich played him at left back for a couple of seasons. Trippier would be an amazing signing. He should be starting for Spurs IMO.
Stadt Posted 5 April 2017 Posted 5 April 2017 It's not surprising Middlesbrough are going down, they couldn't even beat us when we were at our pathetic worst.
Corky Posted 5 April 2017 Posted 5 April 2017 Must be a real shitter tonight, finally get goals yet the strength of the team completely goes.

Totally agree. He was sensational for us on loan and I actually thought he would make it at Spurs, but he doesn't seem to have progressed. I think judging how well Simpson is peforming again now, it would be harsh to drop him for next season and so we might end up with wanting to sign adequate back-up and potentially Naughton could do that job pretty well. Trippier would be an excellent signing though and he surely can't sit on the bench much longer, especially when he could be getting 1st team Premier League football elsewhere on similar if not better wages,

Sigurdsson as a number 10 Maguire OR Gibson Trippier (we need another RB) Don't think Kasper will leave, so would be 3 players in. I'd add a striker to the shopping list too if Ulloa and Musa leave

Finnegan Posted 5 April 2017 Posted 5 April 2017 There's six goals in relegation six pointer and we still have to watch Tottenham and Chelsea first. Ugh.
