1-Didn't say that, of course players like kantè matter, they matter a lot, but like any reasonable person would say "no point in not letting more than 1 goal if you can't score 2" you value players like kantè more than game winners and that's fine by me, but in the end of the day, goals are doing most of the talking, and just like hazards goals vs man city and vardy/mahrez goals, they are the ones that produce silver

2-and I a actually think that he should get an award, not the poty, but definitely something like the NBA's DPOTY (defensive player of the year) for players just like kantè.

Look, there's also an old saying that goes like this: "Attack gets you games, defense wins you Championships". We had one of the best defensive records in the Premier League in 2015/2016, only Spurs and Manchester United had conceded less (35 to 36, to be precise).

Speaking of Kanté, he was highly effective for us and he was one of the reasons we played so well, because he essentially covered two separate roles (many opposing PL players have said something in the sense of "playing against Kanté is like playing against two players at once"). Kanté shielded our back four and got stuck in in central midfield or even higher up the pitch. His energy levels are insane and he reads the game really, really well.

There was a sense in which Kante was starting to get somewhat overhyped though, good though he was for us and is for Chelsea. Recent events have shown that the difference between our performances this season and last weren't just his presence, but rather the "front foot" attitude of the whole team, particularly Vardy & Shinji.

The 'Kante twins' meme has become annoyingly widespread. Kante does have incredible stamina and work rate, but he isn't alone in that. Albrighton, Vardy and Okazaki (for 60 mins) has similar work rates for us.

Kante's not equivalent to two PL players (Maybe if they were two very shit and lazy players). His role was crucial to our playing style, but he is by no means the only player capable of doing his role (see Ndidi, Gueye both at a small fraction of Kante's 32m fee + 150k wages).

Yes Kante reads the game better than most, but that advantage is counterbalanced by his lack of height and shooting ability.

Anyway, why are we still going on about Kante? He will win PFA POTY, whether we like it or not. All of our squad will be voting for him, anyway.

I'd forgotten that during our slump that nearly all the pundits were saying that we couldn't succeed without Kante.

He was absolutely instrumental to our title win and as well as we are playing again now, I don't think we could have gone all the way without him, but the last 6 games have demonstrated that there is certainly life after Kante and we can still be very successful playing the same 4-4-2 system and that there is no ONE individual that we cannot live without.

I'm chuffed for him and his success at Chelsea. The media have perhaps got a little carried away, but he should certainly be regarded at the best in the world at what he does, not overall the best midfielder in the world though.

I don't really have a problem with him, I like him a lot as a person and as a player, I think he is world class and probably the best at what he does. My only problem is that i don't think he is the best CM in the world, a top 5 player in the league and this season's poty, for me at least, he is getting over hyped by many here (and in the Internet for that matter), some even said that he should've been last season's poty and was the most important part of us winning the league, people even said that kantè won the league, not Leicester, mahrez and vardy were responsible for 41 goals and more than 15 assists combined and I'm supposed to believe he was the main reason we won the league? Even people here were discrediting vardy and mahrez just to fuel their kantè agenda.

He has been over rated since he left I agree with that. Mainly due to people like the LAD bible getting all over the top about him. However, he is the best in the world at what he does.

If you believe that and that he is world class you wouldn't be jumping at the chance to point out anything he does that isn't perfection. There isn't a player in the world that doesn't make the odd mistake.

Fact is, anytime he misses a tackle or the other team score you can bet when you open up the thread you'll be on here to the tell everyone how it's all his fault.

Personally I think Busquets is up there as one of the most over rated players in the world. But I don't ram it down everyones throat everytime he messes up (although he normally dives to make up for it)

The issue is not your opinions it's how you try to force it down people's throat's at every opportunity.I do however think you make some good points when you're being more balanced which makes the bias even more frustrating.

Tell you what, that result would really condemn borough if they aren't already down. Would be interesting if Swansea got a result at West Ham certainly

Why do I have this sneaky feeling Hull will get something at Man City?

I can't see it. They have been great under Silva but I think Man City with Kompany back, will be a step too far for them

Maguire is also out for them

Kante = +10 points a season

No Kante = we would have been Champions on goal difference

Id be very suprised if West Ham manage a clean sheet, awful defence. Collins and Fonte:nigel:

They aren't picking up results away and citeh played well at Arsenal and Chelsea. Would expect a  comfortable citeh win today. Hull will be putting all their energies into their remaining home games and the away game at palace and Stoke.

I think the @the fox is bang on about Kante and anyone who doesn't buy all the hype is immediately demonised.

Kante was brilliant for us and has been excellent for Chelsea but all this "the Kante twins" crap and him running the midfield on his own is just hyperbole. I think it's insulting to Vardy and Mahrez that he is given more credit for our title win than those two who truly performed at a world class level last season.

The football "experts" somewhat agree as Mahrez and Vardy came 7th and 8th respectively in the Ballon d'Or and Kante was nowhere.

We should be hoping for a Tottenham win versus Watford in the early kick off more than people realise.

A Tottenham win keeps Watford on 37pts and next week Watford play Swansea at home. Swansea appear to be the most likely team to be relegated in that third spot so we could do with Watford being highly motivated to beat them. That would put Watford on 40pts and almost certain to finish above Swansea and safety.

Watford have got a load of injuries apparently. Think they are in for a whopping! 4-0

Yes good thinking there. Deffo hoping Swansea go into a tailspin now.

Vincent Jansson cracks me up.

Goes to show what a shambles the first half of our season was that we're the only team he's scored against in the league.
