Deluded Spurs fan! Amazing!

How is winning 1-0 worse than drawing or losing. To win you only have to score more goals than the opposition. We did that more than spurs.. They could not handle the pressure Shame because they were second for a long time but the league is over 48 games not just a few good performances where you 'batter' the other side. Credit to Arsenal who held their nerve over the last few games and were probably focussed more on 2nd place than 1st. Spurs were so bothered what they needed to catch up they forgot about Arsenal closing in.

Couple of years ago when Chelsea won the Champions League, I was driving home and listening to Goldstein and Cundy, and Tottenham fans came on and were absolutely scathing of the way Chelsea played and they swore they'd rather not win the Champions League than win it the way Chelsea did. The state of that fan base.

The finshed third in a two horse race quote is the funniest and most accurate quote anyone could use.

They didnt even finish runner up.

4) You scored less points in finishing third, than you did under AVB. So AVB had a more successful season than you lot this season.

Unless this is to wind up Spurs fans, why is this being said?

Clearly Spurs did better this season. They qualified for the Champions League. The league is stronger/more difficult on a whole this season, of course they got a smaller points total, every team did.

No one would say finishing 18th with 39 points is more successful than finishing 17th with 37.

Its being said to get over the Spurs are the best team English football has ever seen and Pochettino is a god argument.

They benefitted from others struggling massively.

You could say the same about us i understand, but 81 points is a total that would threaten to win the league in multiple seasons. It would have beaten Man Utd's treble winning season tally.

im pleased with the stat where they needed 3 points from a possible 12 to guarantee runners up.

they only got 2.

Why not just say how they finished 3rd and the team that finished 1st had much less resources.

People are saying they are such a good "footballing" team because of their goal difference (or what it was before they bottled it and also if you exclude their start to the season) and because they play "pretty" football.

That "AVB finished with 72 points" really doesn't say anything about the argument.

I disagree with this. Sure, Chelsea struggled massively, and the Pep thing fvcked over Man City. But I think the gap in quality is getting smaller between the top teams and the rest. I wouldn't be surprised if the title winning points total was around 75 for the next 3 years.

As for us, with 81 points we dominated the league. We lost 3 all season. We were a freak, like PSG, and that doesn't necessarily reflect on the quality of the rest of the league.

To be honest, i havent got a clue about any of your post.

All that needs to be said is Spurs are complete failures. Argument over.

In Europe's top five leagues,

Only PSG won their league by more points than we did (31)

Only PSG and Bayern Munich lost less games than us, they lost two to our three.

For what is widely considered the most competitive league in Europe what we have done is utterly amazing. Completely unthinkable this time last year.

what spurs fans need to understand is that what happened  with their team was totally expected

poch is just tweaking bielsas methods and game tactics.

Bielsa is a loser in most jobs he's been at. don't get me wrong, his teams are very difficult to play against especially if you try play possession football.... that's why pep guardiola hated playing against bielsas barcelona, as they would make it a tough match even if they lost.

The point here is, Bielsas teams would do well in the middle portions of seasons, but towards the end they would faulter, very much like how this spurs team imploded from west brom game onwards.

Pochetino also filled his players with unneccessary aggression during the chelsea game, another argentine trait that detracted from their performance and set about their total failure in a two horse race.

Next season i expect Liverpool to provide a stiffer test than this spurs team.

loved how spurs had 70% possession against 10 man newcastle but newcastle had around 8 clear chances WITH 10 MEN... only idiots would think they are the best team in the league?!

I think some Leicester fans need to look at these posts and think how it reflects on your own fans / yourselves.

It does all amuse me though.

Regardless of winning the league, points totals, attractive football, net transfer spend or anything else this season - Man Utd are still a significantly bigger club than Spurs, and Spurs are still significantly bigger than Leicester.

How about that to ruffle a few feathers.

Such a big club they've never even come close to winning the Premier League, try taking control of North London first

All anyone need to do is look at the name on the trophy, see the award ceremony, look at the pictures of the champions parade to know we all feel pretty good. I'd give up on trying to talk up Spurs. Didn't they find a banana skin and go whoops, off again, whoops one last time banged by Newcastle. FFS it doesn't get any funnier than that. Beat Liverpool's 2014 falling over session by a distance.

Look I was only teasing you - chill out.

I have supported England and Spurs my whole life. If there's 1 thing I know, it's that at some point I will get let down by the team I'm supporting. Spurs fans that feel entitled to win things are fools. Truth be told I didn't watch the anti Spurs propaganda that was posted. If it's a radio call in, I'm sure a lot of them don't even support the club they call about. Like the Chelsea fan moaning and saying sell Hazard, Fabregas and bring back Grant.

The fairy tale is over now though. Get ready for teams like Crystal Palace singing 'who are ya' when they equalise - or running the ball in the corner for a draw. Teams play differently when there's a scalp to be had. Interested to see how Leicester counter attack against 10 men behind the ball.

Stronger lol.

arsenal are the only team to beat us twice and finished on 71 points, they were that bad we were able to finish 10 points ahead of them after giving up six points.

Leagues lacked at decent consistent team all season (bar us) that's why we've not only won the league we've actually taken the piss. They've (traditional big teams) been excusably poor. City got a good result against a reasonable psg side aside from that they've all been show up for what they are both domestically and in Europe this year. I'm not even saying that in spite it's just the sad truth and I actually hope they sort it out for the sake of English club football.

It is a sad tale this childish sniping

the season has ended

over 38 games the best" team" won the league

No need for arguing the C by our name on the league table is only used for the" best team"

the best footballing side is a matter of opinion

There was a max diff of 6 goals scored and also the same margin for conceded between the top 4 teams

Which says no one blasted through the league with great attacking prowess outscoring everyone

The top 3 all conceded less than a goal a game

The difference was games won and lost

I personally have always liked Spurs and have not changed that opinion

It was a good contest and I celebrated Hazards goal like one of our own

That is done now

Time to move on

There are always people who are deluded and cannot see common sense

Posted

Spurs are just so bitter because they really thought is was finally their year they can handle losing to the gunners or chelski but because it was leicester that destroyed them they struggle to process what happened, there end of season collapse was just so funny

Always have enjoyed Robbie, loved him at City and forgave him many moons ago for kissing the badge at Derby (.. who as a, well, relatively local team I do wish would pull their bloody socks up and join us in the Premier !!!) ... but Hussain ... Hahaha please, stop! Your making my sides bust you tool .... Bronze place just don't cut-it against GOLD ... remember, even Arsenal mauled you and we were ten .. Yes ... 10 points clear of the Gunners (who, incidentally are a big team! ... Sorry to burst your bubble, but your lot were .... Repeat were 3rd ... Get over it!)

Leicester City .. Champions

Arsenal ... very worthy Runners-Up

Tottenham Cock-Spurs .... Bitter Losers

Ps ... Point of Fact . The ONLY supporters of another team (not just Premiership either, including a Nottingham Forest fan (respect to you Paul H.)) that haven't said well done mate, best team won etc at work have been the so called Tottenham fans I work with (3 in total ... One of whom actually looks sick whenever I bump into him now!!!) which speaks volumes ... being magnanimous and a sporting good loser is all part of growing up as an adult ... Please grow up you dung-Beatles, banter is so much more fun than sour-grapes!? Think about it at least!

Forget some of their neanderthal fans..

Spurs played some damn good top football.

They were one of the teams that worried us until March.

After March they were the only team, that really came near to pressurising us.

They like many just didnt realise, pressure is what we feed on.

They too had a great campaign, their 3rd in the history of circumstances was still

better than Arsenals 2nd.

Its the Man.citys, Arsenals, Manutds and even Liverpools who should be laughed at.

Though one rightly would expect Spurs if any club could upset these five. They had the budget.

Lets laugh at some of the pundits, ridiculous bias uneducated statements, the same for

some of the oppos and Spurs immature fans, but not let us not be the fansforum that

makes the fightingcock look like disneyworld..We are better than that !!!

If you think about it, totally ignoring that sort of ignorant banter, will upset them even more.

Extra ammo for next season Rattle the ignorants cage..

Let Robbie Savage's reply be the simple and perfect slant.Forget dosos like the caller..

It'd appear that we seem to get written off for no other reason than us being called Leicester City sometimes.

That's what Bilic spoke about before West Ham played us. Many have played our name rather than our team this season. I always have a quick browse of opponents forums in the week before playing them and so many have fancied their chances against us in a way they probably wouldn't if they were coming up against a Manchester or Arsenal/Chelsea. Watford/Palace/Norwich were in particular very confident of turning us over for some reason. Perhaps the penny will have dropped by next season (not that we'll be playing Norwich). Not sure we'll ever lose that 'Little old Leicester' image.

Posted

Not so sure I ever want to lose that 'little old Leicester' image ... as Spudulike implies; you underestimate any enemy at your peril ... and after all, those of us that live/love or simply know Leicester we know who and what we are and it's never been little or old Leicester!

Posted

Yep, I have to admit that at times Spurs looked like a really decent team. However they just didn't have that inner strength, nor that extra bit of sheer quality that you need to win titles.

That's why they ran out of steam at the end. They went as far as they could, but never ever looked like Champions. They knew it themselves - that's why they bottled it at the end.

The sad thing for Spurs fans is that they know this was their one and only chance for a generation - but they weren't good enough. They'll do fairly well next year I'm sure, but will fall short and come in 5th or 6th.
