Kitchandro Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Baffling that people would pick Wilshere & Henderson ahead of Drinkwater. Absolutely baffling. Vardy & Kane have to start up front. Drinkwater and Alli have to start in the middle. You could perhaps put Dier in there as well. The rest don't matter. They're all much of a muchness. None of them are really international class but we have to pick 11 players so some of them will have to play. There are 4, perhaps 5 standout Englishmen in this squad. The team needs to be built around them.
ousefox Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Team I think Roy will start by with. So frustrating we have to find a place for Rooney. Hart Walker Smalling Cahill Rose Dier Wilshere Sterling Rooney Vardy Kane.
filbertway Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Team I think Roy will start by with. So frustrating we have to find a place for Rooney. Hart Walker Smalling Cahill Rose Dier Wilshere Sterling Rooney Vardy Kane. Not far off, but I reckon Milner for Vardy and Alli for Sterling.
ousefox Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Not far off, but I reckon Milner for Vardy and Alli for Sterling. You could be right re. Milner if he doesn't think the team is boring enough! I'd much rather he started Alli than Sterling or Rooney.
filbertway Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 You could be right re. Milner if he doesn't think the team is boring enough! I'd much rather he started Alli than Sterling or Rooney. I realised then that I stated that like I knew exactly what the team would be then, "not far off what I think" is what I meant haha. He loves Milner! I think if we were trying to replicate close to what Leicester do, the team would be something like Hart Walker Cahill Smalling Rose Sterling/Townsend Drinkwater/Dier Alli/Wilshere Milner Vardy Kane I think Vardy and Kane has potential, Kane doesn't mind dropping deep to win the ball and he's pretty good at it.
Langston Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Surely any manager with half a brain realises that Dier, Alli, Kane, Vardy and Drinkwater are players that HAVE to start.
Harry96 Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 What do we reckon team will be for this Sunday vs Turkey? Will be interesting how we line up without Rooney or smalling due to their involvement in the FA cup final a day before. I personally would love to see Hart Clyne Stones Cahill Bertrand Dier Drinkwater Wilshere Alli Vardy Kane

Would have to play Alli AND Wilshire either side of Drinks to get anywhere near the same heat map as Kante
filbertway Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Would have to play Alli AND Wilshire either side of Drinks to get anywhere near the same heat map as Kante Haha thats the problem. We need to get them on the red bull before the game. The whole team combines probably wouldnt touch Kanté's heat map haha.
bovril Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Que the men in white coats leading Woy away ! It's being played in France, not Spain.
TheMightySystem Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Vardys goal in training, surely got to start on Sunday with Kane?
Harry96 Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Vardys goal in training, surely got to start on Sunday with Kane? https://twitter.com/England/status/733763219207131136 doesn't work?
TheMightySystem Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 doesn't work? It will be on youtube later, i'll link it on then works fine for me though.
Langston Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Not sure what it counts for but it's good to see he's got Vardy and Kane training together. Really hope he starts the two of them up top on Sunday and we smash it, please don't give him a reason to get Rooney back in the side, lads.
jaqo88 Posted 21 May 2016 Posted 21 May 2016 Hart Walker - Smalling - Cahill - Rose Drinkwater - Dier - Alli Rooney Vardy - Kane This should be the team imo, but Hodgson will probably pick his favourites, Milner and Wilshere leaving the Leicester lads out.
Ric Flair Posted 21 May 2016 Posted 21 May 2016 We've got a piss easy group, if he even thinks about anything other than Kane and Vardy up top in the group matches then he's a twat.
Stadt Posted 21 May 2016 Posted 21 May 2016 Hart Clyne Cahill Smalling Rose Dier Drinky Alli Lallana Kane Vardy Roy likes 433, best I can come up with that but Rooney will probably be in.
MrSpaM Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 Vardys goal in training, surely got to start on Sunday with Kane? Great goal from Vardy that
Dan Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 I'm behind Flair's 3-4-1-2. It won't happen but it makes sense. It's a counter attacking formation that improves us defensively.
Jazzy_Jeff Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 Hart Walker Cahill Smalling Rose Dier Rooney Drinkwater Alli Vardy Kane
Guest MattP Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 I hope Hodgson is also considering the opposition, it's likely the centre back pairing for Russia will be Ignashevic and Berezutski, the former is 36 and the latter 33. On that basis not having Vardy up the top would be ridiculous.
Wymsey Posted 24 May 2016 Posted 24 May 2016 Glad Dzagoev won't play, Reckon he'd fit in with our (Leicester's) style of play.
FantasticMrFox&Son Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 Trying to move on from the squad announcement earlier today, a chance to share your thoughts on the best team to start for England. Here's mine with a few thoughts as to why and how, hope this thread is permitted. Hart, Rose, Cahill, Smalling, Walker Dier, Wilshere,Rooney, Alli Kane & Vardy Dier to sit deep (3rd centre-back), Rose & Walker to provide width, Alli to play ahead of Wilshere (holding midfield) and Rooney (free to roam and get forward), Kane & Vardy BOTH play through the middle, Subs :- Forster, Clyne, Bertrand, Stones, Lallana, Sterling, Sturridge Maybe Woy will have a go too
ScouseFox Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 right then, now we know the 23 what do we reckon? what would be the best of a bad situation; hart clyne smalling cahill bertrand dier wilshere henderson alli kane vardy what we will almost definitely see hart clyne smalling cahill rose dier wilshere henderson rooney kane lallana bin.
