Are Benfica more evil than Porto?

I don't like Porto.

porto are losing their power. They've become beholden by outside influences, like that shady spots fund doyen, and because of that they're in a constant flux of player, with most moving out after a couple of years. When they had the FA on their side, they could scrape by here and there, but now, deeper in dept and with benfica taking their place in this corruption den of a country, they're getting weaker and weaker.

they're both kind of evil, porto being the past evil still clinging to hope, and benfica the current evil, wanting to replace the corpse in power.

What they don't get is that by constantly weakening everyone else, football itself grows weaker. Viewership diminishes, attendances drop, the cash flows slows down and diminishes. Sporting, mostly by the efforts and tenacity of our president, want a stronger football. We want all clubs to get a fair share of TV rights, we want referring to be transparent and protected, we want shady third party influences out of the sport, because with that, everyone wins. Everyone makes more money, attendances go up. A healthy competition is a strong competition. Not in a million years could a club like Leicester win the league here, and benfica's president wants it remain like that, fighting for the biggest crumbs in the plate instead of baking a better bigger cake.

1) Boro got promoted whilst we won the 'championship'....last season....dilly ding dilly dong wake up. Therefore Nugent wasnt good enough.

2) Not really though. You can't claim Nugent is a good player but Ulloa is a donkey.

We were not even in the Championship last season let alone in the running for the title.

Porto have been 30 years in command with máfia until they got caugt. Alex Ferguson talked about that already.

Since they were caugt benfica is the new mafia.

At weeks ago they were catch giving a 50K bag to other team but the case was forgot.

If you think im lying search in Google/YouTube "carregados pelo Benfica" and try to translate a little.

Last year they had 1 pênalti kick only against them in all season, and the score was at 5-0 already.

At two years ago they played against 10 players 15 games. This passed on international televisions.

Returning to the topic, if you do not want Slimani we will be very happy to stay with him.

That's dodgy as hell. 15 games they played against 10 men!!!  That should be investigated.

Benfica remind me of Manchester United under Ferguson.

Answer 1 doesn't make sense (Boro got promoted while Nugent was there, therefore Nugent was good enough?)

Answer 2 is the dumbest comeback I've heard in ages.

I think that Grewks is, hilariously, trying to use the Championship as a term for winning the Premier League. Hence the inverted commas.

It makes it evem more funny considering we were still in the Championship when he declared Nugent "not good enough" (despite the fact he'd been our top scorer the two seasons prior and was en route to score 20+ goals).

are you really arguing the semantics of 'championship'?

he quite clearly meant the division 'The Championship'.

Look how hard you're clutching at the straws to try and prove yourself right lol

How do you know i clearly didn't mean the championship we won last year?

Imo. David Nugent isn't good enough for a side with ambition in either division. 8 goals in 40 from last season says it all.

Ulloa scored only a couple less in his debut premier league season, than Nugent has in his whole premier league career.

I didn't say we were in that league....I said we won the championship.

I can't believe the amount of people in here who dislike ulloa, its a disgrace.

Nah, it goes allot deeper than that.

Benfica actually have allot of small teams from our league under their pay-roll to let them win, this is basically a known fact in Portugal but no one ever investigates this shit.

Last saturday Nacional's goalkeeper and Nacional's captain were clearly paid by benfica to let them win.

Nacional's goalkeeper is literally using a benfica shirt in his facebook's profile picture.

And in the last game of the previous season, Benfica was playing against Nacional da Madeira and the president of Nacional was found in the hotel where Benfica was hosted...
Not to talk about Horta, that was tranfered to Benfica this season and last season didn't play against Benfica... was just the best player of his team...

And there are hundreds of more examples of clear corruption scandals that no one seems to care about in Portugal. And we've been trying to fight that, but with the media controlled, no one listens! They only ask what they wanna ask.

haha, despite that, When benfica loses or ties a game its always 100% the reffs fault.

When Porto loses they might blame the reffs but they also admit that they played like shit and didn't deserve to win.

You're not wrong there.

Still, knowing your captain is capable anymore, and is clearly sinking the ship, and STILL leave him in charge for another 3/4 years...? That's blind.

The sheer amount of things that should be investigated in Portugal and are not should itself be investigated.

Don't want to bring politics into this, but maybe you've heard of the panama papers. We haven't heard much about it, curiously...

Nugent isn't good enough as a main striker for a side in the championship.

His career figures prove it.

He also only scored (i think roughly) 12 in open play. For a side which dominated that league, to only average 1 in nearly 4, is pretty average.

err, when was it said I didn't like Ulloa?

I like him. Thankful for all he's done and all he's contributed for us in the 2 and a bit seasons he's been here. Slimani seems to be better and has a better scoring record. And also is a bit more talented in areas where Ulloa isn't.

if we're being picky, he has a 100% scoring record in International games.
