TheMightySystem Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Thought I would put it in here rather then the main forum as it isn't official yet but Simpson and Schmeichel close to agreeing new contracts. Simpson seemed to have turned his life around and Schmeichel deserving of a new contract after nearly getting the golden glove, plus it will reasure him of his role after the new keeper signed. Bit of good news after a bad weekend. (Mods feel free to move if it should be in the main forum)
foxes21 Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 honestly think Simpson could be our main right back for a good few years to come, despite everyone saying we need an upgrade he's perfect for what we require at full back!
StanSP Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Good stuff. Hopefully put to bed any rumours of Kasper leaving or being targeted.
jayfox26 Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 honestly think Simpson could be our main right back for a good few years to come, despite everyone saying we need an upgrade he's perfect for what we require at full back! You're right but unless he moves to Arsenal or Liverpool or any other "big club" and plays in their reserves, he'll never play for England
Jimothy Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Hopefully Simpson has a word in Vardy's ear. They seem good mates. He can tell him what a prat he's being pimping himself out to the highest bidder.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Would be very good news. Simpson at RB has been magnificent, especially defensively and Kasper similarly has been superb. Great boost for for us if these two confirm new contracts.
Sampson Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 honestly think Simpson could be our main right back for a good few years to come, despite everyone saying we need an upgrade he's perfect for what we require at full back! By "everyone" you mean a noisy minority who seem to just seem to have made their mind up about him and won't let any amount of good performances sway them, right? Great news! Reminds us all we have some fantastic players here who will still be here next season regardless of who else leaves!
foxes_rule1978 Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Great to get them signed up ... finally some good news this weekend
Bamba's Babes Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Great, they can earn more money until they decide to leave.
SecretPro Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Incredibly pleased with Simpson signing a new contract. I'll go out on a limb here and say I think he was one of the best RB's in the Prem last season. I'll also go out on a limb and say I think he's a good lad, seems quite down to earth and always looks happy when around the other players. Hopefully after winning the Prem and settling into the squad he can crack on with his life without people bringing up the fact that he's had a few issues every time his name gets mentioned.
Bryn Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Hopefully Simpson has a word in Vardy's ear. They seem good mates. He can tell him what a prat he's being pimping himself out to the highest bidder. Simpson would do the same in a heartbeat.
Jimothy Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Simpson would do the same in a heartbeat. He would, but he's not, and imagine he'd like his mate to stay. So it'd be in his interest to talk him out of it.
Adster Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 He would, but he's not, and imagine he'd like his mate to stay. So it'd be in his interest to talk him out of it. Only because nobody else wants to buy him
Jimothy Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Only because nobody else wants to buy him I know!!! I'm making the point he'll want his buddy to stay so hopefully he'll try and talk him out of it. Christ!
Gerard Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Good news is "lessons have been learnt" and Rudkin has insisted on a £40m release clause with Simpson.
