CosbehFox Posted 7 July 2016 Posted 7 July 2016 Is Southampton at home definitely being moved to the Sunday because of their Europa League game? They are in the Europa League group stages, so Sunday. I just checked and the week after is a CL matchday. So I think you can say 90% on that day - but kick-off time to be confirmed. Friday night football will be pants. Don't they try this sort of thing every 10 years or so? It never works. I'd prefer Friday's over Monday's. It is certainly easy for me not living in Leicester to make a Friday night over a Monday night. However, it should have come with a rule that the travelling side are within 90 minute to 2 hour journey. Southampton to Manchester is a joke and Liverpool/Chelsea isn't much better (excepting trains to/from London are at least better).
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 7 July 2016 Posted 7 July 2016 I can't wait for a Friday night home game. I very much can.
ScouseFox Posted 7 July 2016 Posted 7 July 2016 used to love friday night home games. scunthorpe when we won the league. waghorn vs bristol city. boro in the snow. didnt do it but sheff wed to basically wrap up promotion musta been good. so many. belter. can't wait for spurs at home, friday night, under lights, guarantee us a champs league place and keep them in 6th. already excited.
EGBFitness Posted 7 July 2016 Posted 7 July 2016 I know what you mean, if you get a bad result it ruins the whole weekend, remember that Millwall home game where Morgan got sent off after 3 mins? That might've actually been a Thursday but still made for a crap weekend. I'm also not a fan of waking up on a Saturday with a full round of fixtures except us, feels like we're missing out haha. I'm not too sure now come to think about it if it was a Thursday or Friday? I'm the same, I'm not always mad on the lunch time kick offs, makes me switch off from all the other games abit over the rest of the weekend, I think it should be 3pm kick offs then anything else happens after then - 5.30pm sat nights, Sunday games and Monday's although not biggest fan of them either but guess it's just down to personal preferences
FLAN Posted 7 July 2016 Posted 7 July 2016 United away annoying. I'm up there for a gig and wanted to catch the match. Now will have to go really early! United away annoying. I'm up there for a gig and wanted to catch the match. Now will have to go really early!

Fridays are most definitely better than Thursday games that's for sure. Least you can have a few beers after.
StanSP Posted 7 July 2016 Posted 7 July 2016 FFS! I have a wedding to go to on Saturday 20th August and was sure the game would be moved to the Sunday, I even could have made both if the game was the 12.30 KO, My wife will have to go to it without me Haha so do I and was hoping for a move away from Saturday. Unfortunately I have to go to the wedding
AKCJ Posted 7 July 2016 Posted 7 July 2016 shiiiiit yeah i forgot every leicester fan in the world lives in Leicester. think Nobody that lives far enough away from Leicester (the lad who I replied to apparently comes from Dorset) that is actually serious about Hull away is going to be bothered about a two and a half hour difference.
Babylon Posted 7 July 2016 Posted 7 July 2016 BT Totally ruined the champions league for me, sometimes games passed and I didn't even know they were happening. Bring back coverage on ITV.
Soar Fox Posted 7 July 2016 Posted 7 July 2016 Will have a spare ticket/ reference for Man Utd away if anyone wants to use it.
Lcfc_lass10 Posted 7 July 2016 Posted 7 July 2016 20 minutes to run 2 miles back to lime street unless you go to rugby then you can get a later train but gets into rugby at 23:30 I would say taxi, but the season before last at Liverpool it took at least 20 mins to even get a taxi.
Bayfox Posted 7 July 2016 Posted 7 July 2016 Totally ruined the champions league for me, sometimes games passed and I didn't even know they were happening. Bring back coverage on ITV. Don't have it so can't comment. But obviously may need it next year.
Babylon Posted 7 July 2016 Posted 7 July 2016 Don't have it so can't comment. But obviously may need it next year. Neither do I... that's what I mean. Used to love the champions league on ITV, now it's hidden away on ANOTHER subscription channel and not advertised that much I barely know it's happening some times.

But I do miss having the option of cl games. Used to love seeing barca play. Hopefully next year I may get to do it in the flesh.
StanSP Posted 7 July 2016 Posted 7 July 2016 I value the better coverage that BT offers. The fact you can watch all matches live at any time is a big plus, not just what ITV would choose. BT's European Goals show is a massive plus, too. The downside is the lacklustre and underwhelming commentary. The supposed 'experts' that give their insight yet there isn't that much expertise at all. McManaman, Owen, Hargreaves. Useless.
daddylonglegs Posted 7 July 2016 Posted 7 July 2016 Nobody that lives far enough away from Leicester (the lad who I replied to apparently comes from Dorset) that is actually serious about Hull away is going to be bothered about a two and a half hour difference. I live in Bath and it is a 4+ hour drive. Its annoying that instead of setting off at 10, im setting off at 630. I don't think that's a particularly controversial issue to have
Corky Posted 7 July 2016 Posted 7 July 2016 Personally pleased that the home games have not been drastically moved, the away were no surprise but at least they are on the same day rather than a Monday.
Hitesh Posted 12 August 2016 Posted 12 August 2016 West Brom game has now moved to the Sunday - 4.30PM Kick off
Hitesh Posted 12 August 2016 Posted 12 August 2016 Sunday, October 16 Chelsea v Leicester 1.30pm* *Subject to UEFA Champions League fixtures, Chelsea v Leicester City could move to Saturday 15 October 12.30pm and swap with Middlesbrough v Watford which would revert to Sunday 16 October 1.30pm

Fox92 Posted 12 August 2016 Posted 12 August 2016 Sunday's are shite. West Brom, really. What a boring game to televise. Chelsea away wouldn't be too bad on a Saturday whatever the time. Can cope with that. Sunday's are poor for train services though.
stillwater Posted 12 August 2016 Posted 12 August 2016 Missing the trip to Hull as on my Jollies any Launceston Foxes on here that know of a decent boozer near Launceston to watch the match?
