Hull City Owners

You mean like the exclusive they carried with Steve Bruce on why he left the other day?

Some people really need to wind their neck in and lend a bit of support to other fans fighting bad ownership at their club. For every "mauled by the Tigers" weirdo, there'll be 10 decent Hull supporters who've been fighting tooth and nail for the last couple of years to even keep 'City' in their name. Just because we're lucky to (by and large) have decent foreign investors doesn't mean we should look down our noses upon those who don't.

Fighting tooth and nail by turning up giving Allam their money?

No wonder he sold up quick and got the hell out of dodge.

..... Wait a minute......

Allam is a decent bloke contrary to popular belief, he's gave the club some of their best years and there is a lot more going on behind the scenes than what is made public.

Nice specifics there.

- Responsible Owners

- Sold out every match

- Ambition in the transfer market

- Decent fan base

It is a sad state of affairs but was always going to happen when they pipped us to the City of Culture title, so it must have a lot going for it.

One of my best mates is from Hull, current STH, so I have spent a lot of time in Hull whenever I'm staying over at his. I understand now that the main owner is ill and his son is currently in charge - that's who Bruce had the meeting with? I know Bruce tried to resign when they were relegated but they convinced him not too and upon getting promoted obviously didn't support him. The club is a mess and it's sad to see. There are many clubs we all might not like but as a football fan I don't like to see any club in bother.

BANG ON.

Clubs like Wednesday actually offer something to the Prem.

If you're going with that attitude then what's the point in relegation and promotion. Villa shouldn't be in the Championship, they are a big club with a good history and a big fan base. Much like Leeds, much like Wednesday, much like Derby.

Football (or sport actually) is about now. History doesn't win anything. Ask Liverpool. No team has a right to play in any division and some of the replies in this thread are sad. You're supposed to be a football fan.

Yeh top bloke telling all the fans to die because they didn't agree with his insane idea to change the club's name for his own profit.

Big fanbase, good atmosphere (comparatively), respectable history, decent city, potential to play good football, less disgusting kit...

Way too serious a reply for my liking.

Wednesday played better football, bigger stadium, more fans, better away day...what's not to like?

Yes I will be cheering Leeds, Villa and Newcastle back into the prem. The league is better off for it.

Sickening. This is what is wrong with modern football. Just because they are historically big clubs it doesn't mean they are more entitled to be in the Premier League then the likes of Swansea or Hull for example. You sound like a Spurs fan. I hope Burton Albion win the Championship.

There's been a lot of irresponsible British investors over the years.

Allam was born in Egypt but moved to Hull in 1968 and has lived there ever since. He made his fortune in Britain so he's not really a foreign investor.

I remember some Journo took the piss out of Allem a few years ago asking him what he'd call other premier league clubs.

He replied, for Man City, 'Manchester Hunter'.

Quite often pot luck with foreign investors, could have easily been us...

The Allams aren't really foreign though are they, they've been living and working here since the late 1960s.

A lot of sad responses in this thread.

Spent four years in Hull at university and later on visited the city frequently.  it suffers from a bad press.  Yes its a poor city but also has rich areas to the west and the people are friendly.  Like all cities it has its problems but that stems from the poverty it has suffered over recent years.

I'm not saying they have a divine right. I'm saying the league is better off in my opinion. We see bigger stadia and bigger crowds which can only be a pull and good thing.

So you're saying that what is wrong with modern football is my desire to see all the bigger teams ,and with it their stadiums, fighting it out in the biggest league? I'd have Leeds, Wednesday, Newcastle and Villa over Dull, B-mouth, Burnley and Watford any day of the week.

Bare with while I find you some ladders to get you off your self-created, imaginary high-horse.
