Vindaloo FOX Posted 3 August 2016 Posted 3 August 2016 i'm happy with the team as it is, i think the only position i am a bit worried about is who will play alongside Drinkwater , Mendy so far i have not been that impressed with but of course time will tell he has just joined us and i guess we have many CM who may step up to the plate , King , James , Inler , Amartey .

I know Amartey can play there but I feel Amartey will only develop if he nails down a position, whether it be cb or cm but if he's constantly playing different positions I don't think he'll improve. Another centre mid would be good as I feel James needs loaning out and that leaves Mendy, Drinky and King and maybe Amartey if cm is his best position. 2 more players would be good but we need 2 top class players. Our signings so far have been good but given we are league champions, we haven't exactly signed anyone who is top class. We have the money and we should be able to attract top players so I am a bit surprised we've not signed a big name this summer.

bpfox Posted 4 August 2016 Posted 4 August 2016 for all on here who think we dont need more players, ur living in a fantasy world. after last year teams will have worked hard on our style and how to beat us. we need BIG TIME a midfielder who can hold up the ball and create, we need a big centre forward who has pace and can finish, musa and vardy is all we have the other two are second class players ( if every one is been fair dinkum) and we could do with a young strong centre half.

Under the radar, taken for granted is what we thrive on. Never know how it will all turn out.

Okay, I admit to condemning Rob Kelly as a manager on day one (he left another club this week by mutual consent) but let's give Mendy a chance. It can't be easy replacing genius.

Kante was so unknown Wenger says he knew about him and Marseille and West Ham bid for him when we did. Just because you didn't know him doesn't mean others didn't. They are also two very different players. Do I expect him to replace Kante like for like, no that's clear from the stats he's a different player. But how about we see how he fits into the team and any tactical changes we make first before condemning him. We conceded goals with Kante in the team until we tweaked the full backs and the system a bit. If Ranieri can make a decent right back out of Simpson, I'm sure it's possible he can tweak tactics to maybe get DD and Mendy playing effectively together.

Can we not just give the team 10 games to see how people fit together and let Ranieri tweak his tactics accordingly.

foxes21 Posted 4 August 2016 Posted 4 August 2016 I think we need another center back, before a right back imo. if one of our cb's gets injured, lets say Huth, we only have wasilewski as cover for morgan/hernandez. at right back, we already have enough depth Imo. simpson, amartey will grow into the role & hernandez can cover there too. Still think Jonny Evans would be a good signing for us. Then sign Keane next summer when he's experienced a full season of the prem.
