As I've said before, 13 games in which he's played little part or no part at all... one loss. We have the answers within our squad I think, whether it means a formation tweak to get the best out of them, we'll see.

I thought he only missed 1 league match? He was our most consistent performer, and I thought massively instrumental in how we played. Only time will tell.

I definitely think we need another ruthless striker.

Vardy last east season was obviously clinical

I love Shinj, I hope he plays more of a forward role as he can be dangerous in front of goal

Ulloa, he offers something different to the others which is what we need - I think given the right price though we will listen to offers, maybe we could buy a younger and upgraded version? I always feel like you never know what your going to expect from him though.

Musa, first season so not sure how he is going to settle, CR has already spoken about him needing to learn our way etc, from what I've seen of him he seems more of a left winger rather than a number 9.

It's important not to upset the balance and to sign a player who will accept to be second string to Vardy but would love for us to go and splash some cash on a household name to really get excited about

Laquazette, 40m wants champions league. Get it done

Genuine question, why was he not in the France squad with Giroud and Gignac being preferred (and also Benzema not included). Surely he can't be that great/worth £40m!

End of last season, start of this season he wasn't involved.

Deschamps prefers more of a target man type of forward apparently. Hence Giroud & Gignac ahead of Lacazette, Benzema and Gameiro despite all three being better.

Nobody can work it out either.

Benzema wasn't in because he was caught up in a sex tape row with a team mate. Yes, really.

Your mistake is more egregious, the only way you could make this comment is in a vacuum. Perhaps you forgot that we lost Kante and that every other team gunning for a top spot is stronger than last season. United's team if they get Pogba is absolutely disgusting.

Edit: I really have to say this is the type of post that really bothers me, it shows a complete lack of understanding of where we currently are as a squad and what needs to be done both tactically and from a signing perspective this season.

Your being conned by media hype. Pogba aint going to change the Pl his purchase Should be no bench mark for other

teams.Kante departure , yes he may well be missed, but replaceable yes, the club has had time to revalue, the manager

also wont plod On aimlessly. Does losing Kante mean if we dont come in the top 5,does it mean Kantes loss was the

reason...

I have a strange thought...it might be the spirit in the squad that is still suprising Ranieri and a few others.

They kick off the PL with thatcsame drive , it might give also Ranieti a fillip.

There are many like you, who believe in their hearts, that citys achievment meant nothing, and like the so called

experts, Status quo c will be resumed, and all, every single one of those top clubs, will automatically claim back the top 4 for their own...

Some of us, granted not all, believe we might see a change within the approach of many clubs

when playingcagainst their peers and again more talented teams. The Leicester story has to be

Given a chance to develope, not rebuffed or put down to a Unique 'one off' before even a ball is kicked to start the new season.Especially within the fanzone of the foxes.

We Crazy Optimists might get it totally wrong, but let that whip of enthusiasm get a few fair cracks, before the error of our ways is shoved up our noses. That chance of living tasting, seeing, that the Leicester success will open the gates to a new era in our and PL history.

Dont kill it before its born. Too much pessism towards our investments, including over

zealous expectations on player investments, dont forget how we won this strange looking thing

in the top lefthand corner of this forum. Nobodies, a bunch of Unknown mavericks, threw

the biggest Coup of all time, we made big boyS cry and mouthy pundits speachless.

Some cryed over the loss of Cambiasso, now some panicking over the drifting off of Kante.

SOME stillcdont believe in the dream, some are to fickle, and are quick and ready to put

the doomed label upon us, if we dont spend and delve and jump onto the merry go round

Of buying, the players they believe will save us from ourselves..

.Atheists, infidels, judases to the cause. Just cant x wait for Ranieri to fail if he doesnt join their

Way of thinking....Relax, sitback, enjoy what we have achieved, the title gives us that   right,

not to worry and panic. We have seen movement in the transfer market, and upgrades within the squad. A player has been invested in, in every single line across the field. Some have improved their squad status.But..!!!  but we still have to carry the doubters.

Yes I still believe we need to see more quality investment, but Inler and Krammaric

experiences  proves, it aint that easy.Owners and manager have stated they dont c want

to buy for buying sake...

Inler if club and player are willing , could still give us a return on his investment.2nd season

refinding his form, weve seen in the past , some players have needed that 2nd season to

rekindle their potential.

Also, are the times well over, for managers like Ranieri to have the time or prowess  of gathering enough knowledge on any player..???  Just a thought not an opinion..

Ignacio Camacho, Islam Slimani and a Right Back and we are good to go. :D

I'm interested as to why everyone assumes we will be just as good this season.

Weaker first XI

Loss of key staff

Stronger opposition

Inexperience of playing European football

All this nonsense of 'signing players damages morale', why would teams ever sign players?

IMO we are way short, but i hope to be proved wrong. Expect to finish 10th-14th.

I sort of agree. As mentioned above, we got two good results last season but at the minute he still looks like our only striker with a real goal threat.

I don't think it's so much the goal threat we missed out on its the lack of pace we had without him on the pitch. Hopefully this should be covered with Musa playing if Vards isn't.

Has anyone actually said they expect us to defend our title?

Weaker first XI

Considering you've not actually seen our signings play a competitive game, how do you know that? A like for like with Kante would be impossible, but we might yet tweak how we play to accommodate others.

Loss of key staff

I think you're overplaying the loss of a scout, that might have long term impact but shouldn't do much short term.

Stronger opposition

Probably but yet to be seen.

Inexperience of playing European football

6 extra games... if we lost the 6 games directly after them (18 points) and then lost another 4 games (12 points). But the rest of the season stayed the same, we'd still be level with what Stoke got last season in 9th.

All this nonsense of 'signing players damages morale', why would teams ever sign players?

All this nonsense spouted by professionals who all say the same thing. We've signed 5 players, but most people in the game would tell you flooding the squad with new people can have an impact.

IMO we are way short, but i hope to be proved wrong. Expect to finish 10th-14th.

That's incredibly pessimistic, we've lost one players and whilst good we've also done well without him, as I keep repeating the last 13 games he's not played in or played little part in.... we've lost 1 of them. We can still have a decent season without him.

As I said above, 10 extra losses and we'd still have had enough to finish above Stoke in last seasons table. Who knows what might happen, but nothing has pointed at that sort of drop off for a year and a half. 4 losses in 47 games shows incredible consistency, so I don't see how we're well short.

Is Lassana Diarra any good still aged 31 or will he be as useful as Inler? He is available on a free due to some weird clause in his contract at Marseille.

I contradict your thought on the everyone assumes tact.

From my perspective, I see a large minority Predicting implosion of the team, if we dont do this or that.

Presumptions running well into the pessimistic view point. We are "doomed" is getting too heavy for my liking.

Anyone  would think, we have a Hull Or Sunderland conundrum.

Your 4 points..I totally disagree

weaker 1st XI, ...no way, Kante loss, just means a new rethink.

Stronger OpposiTion,  no proof in that, just a presumption.

Loss of key staff...that does not effect our game day performance, nor has fact of demise.

Lack of European experience...well..!!  dilly ding Dilly dong. Now its time to gather...FFS.

One sees in every thread in this closed/pre season the optimist and pessimist.

I belong to the uncurable romantics I'm afraid...

It seems in my mind,  we are easily forgetting what last 2 seasons brought in postivity.

Many are trying to be really really too clever, being also scared to follow

that dream and the romance of it all. They are scared of the negative outcome,

Scared of being seen as the fool, that the obvious is not to be contradicted...

Ffs what was last year!!!

Its football,it is entertainment, the real world the everyday life is miserable enough at times,

why bring that failure Of thought  into our hobby Into our days of enjoyable entertainment.

We dared to dream...hey fellas  it worked, why pick at it ?? Why turn your backs on it.

Why face up to something, that simply  Isnt there.

He was challenging Kante for a position in the national side recently so must still be at a good level.

Would surely feel like he has some u finished business in the premier league, could be a coy signing IMO

That the tabloids for you, they reckoned he played in 37 out of the 38 premier league matches

£49mill is probably fvck all to them though. Think about how rich they are. That's why I've said before a fine is pointless, needs to be more severe than that. FFP never has made sense.

I wonder if they have to declare that £49m as expenditure towards FFP the following year? :o

For me him or Lucas Leiva would be a steal for us. Perfect replacements for Kante & would offer so much in the dressing room with their experience.

That would indeed be the Leicester way... Given a blank cheque and sign people on free transfers! lol

Have to disagree with Lucas, really don't rate him. He gives away too many free kicks on edge of the box.
