Did Ranieri and Walsh have a disagreement over tansfer policy?

It was said a lot though that when Ranieri came in he did little to change our system, I think his team management has been brilliant, that doesn't mean he's beyond criticism for decisions he makes moving us forward for the new season though. It is perfectly reasonable to question why we're at 70% on the first game of the season.

the shitty pre-season that Ranieri had little control over no doubt would have a big part to play.

Kante, Fuchs, Gray, Amartey and Musa were walshs recommendations.

Benny, Inler, Mendy, Hernandez and Zieler all ranieri's doing.

Ranieris management, tactical skills and Walshs transfer policy was bound to succeed. for me losing Walsh was very bad. Would people of been more confident if we had Gueye, Bolasi, Keane and Brady in our team right now?

I would have been far more confident with those players.  We have a blueprint that won us the title, stick to it.  I know it is a near impossible task to replace Kante, but the nearest thing i've seen (in performance and stats) has gone to Everton.

Perhaps we tried to sign Gueye,  most of our actual transfer are under the radar and maybe if we did he chose Everton we're  not everyone's  first choice of club.

We could have gone for him ages ago, everton only triggered the release clause recently.

Which we might have done as well, who knows.

I also seem to remember a fair few saying don't  buy players from relegated clubs especially one that demoralised.

Not true.

inler was as much Walsh as Ranieri, he went out to Switzerland with Bruno Berner to try and convince him.

Mendy was one Walsh was watching but Ranieri had the final say on him.

Hernandez was a Walsh signing as well.

Knew some Kuntes would be quick to draw the knives as soon as things don't go our way, absolutely disgusting that someone can bring so much success to the club and city and yet they'll quite happily stab him in the back.

with Kante, the fact Ranieri even questioned his judgement, shows a lack of trust.

People keep trying to some how knock Ranieri for not been 100% for Kante.Even if true he was the manager that still agreed to sign him and more importantly put him in team as soon as he was up to speed.

This was the team that ripped into Sunderland last seasons opener.

schmeichel

de laet

Huth

Morgan

Schlupp

Albrighton

King

Drinkwater

Mahrez

Okazaki

Vardy

They were fit had passion belief everything the team lacked yesterday.

No Kante King in a midfield 2, yet played Sunderland off the park.

No billy big spuds attitude.

lol Can you back any of this up?

Inler was definitely not a Ranieri singing. We know that for a fact.

Fuchs was a Pearson signing, had a phone call with him.

Kante also may have been scouted by Walsh, but he didn't come to us... not until Claudio got the job.

I have a lot less faith in transfers now SW has gone but does anyone know how big our scouring network is? Serious question? Cos surely Ranieri isn't ignoring everyone and just signing who he wants. There must still be discussions taking place.

for the record Everton won't match our success it was a one off. Gueye may be 2nd to Kante in interception stats but he's still pretty average from what ive seen of him.

There was no Billy big spuds attitude yesterday just ill prepared and too many air miles in last 3/4 weeks , we didn't look hard fit was the main issue

flat and lacking drive , they needed that result to focus and crack on , hunger and passion will return now

Vardy missed two yesterday and if he scores you don't get to write about "Billy big spuds"

its a simple game , followed at times by simple folk

pretty sure we have scouts who go around South America and around Europe.

Not sure how regularly or how often.

I am happy to go on record and say that Gueye is not anywhere near the level of Kante. Those stats are just spuff material for fan boys. Villa didn't play 4-4-2, he's grotesquely defensive which we might argue we need some shoring up but I believe Amartey could do that alongside Drinkwater and Mendy or Kaputska.

Bet it's a great job - how do you become a scout!?

Why worry? Ranieri is a tactical genius and even if we do have a bumpy start we will still go on a crazy run and push for Europe at the end of the season. I'm confident and always will be whilst Claudio is in charge.

This!!!You speak to Villa fans who watched him week in week out and they will tell you why the likes of Leicester and the rest of the top six did'nt go in for him

When O'Neill left, we did pretty well for a bit.  But, it became apparent that the further away we got from O'Neill's influence, the worse we got.

Now I actually love Ranieri to bits.  But...I had a question on my mind, even last year, that I wondered what would happen when the Pearson influence declined.

Now Walsh is out the door and Shakespeare has one foot out, we will get a better feel for the quality of scouting that Ranieri brings with him and also the quality and effectiveness of coaching.

People should brace themselves that it might not be as good as the systems he inherited.

Whilst I question Walsh's ambition, I don't think he bottled it.

And as for your scenario, Everton lost Stones for £50m and replaced him with Williams for between £9 - £12m, Ok that's alot for a 32 year old, but a great bit of business imo, still fairly cheap and imo a massive improvement on Stones, so I think that blows your scenario and theory out the window.

Yeah have to agree with that. sell stones for 50m and replace with Williams was probably deal of the summer for this season. Long term no but how long term can you look. We won the league, Wenger still planning his next invincibles which has been on going for the last decade. There's just so much money in the league now that long term planning is kind of out the window.

Watch him in a system that suits, with decent players around him.  Everton fans raving about him already.
