I see there's still a lot of bad information here.

Adrien never said the deal was done. He said Leicester had made a formal proposal for 25M euros for him, and that your project is very interesting and aligned with his career objectives. He also says that he had a spoken arrangement with the president that, because of his years at the club (he's been here since he's 12) Sporting wouldn't block a deal that was advantageous to both all parties.

This is the pretty much the interview he gave, but there's a lot of strange things here:

Adrien said in an interview back in May that it would be unlikely that he'd leave Sporting before winning the League title. And up until a few days ago, everything was normal, no one was even talking about formal offers for him, or William Carvalho, for that matter. That's not to say inquiries weren't made, but nothing was made public, and nowadays these things are easily leaked.

So then, this interview comes out, literally out of nowhere. It was only posted on the o jogo site, it wasn't pinted in paper, and in the day the players were set to join the national squad. Which is not how things normally work, so this was something that needed to get out fast. After Sporting clarified it's position, both the agent and the father claim the club is lying, that an offer was indeed made, but they each claim different values, which is probably telling in and of itself.

And then, in the midst of all this, Olympique Lyonnais's president comes out and says that jorge mendes, of all people (Adrien's former agent) was shopping around the CL draw for a new club for Adrien. And when a reporter told him that mendes was not AS's agent, he replied that he's still the one that does the deals.

All of this leads me to believe this:

Leicester heard about Adrien Silva being on the market, tentatively made an offer for him to those so called representatives, and that's now being used to screw with Sporting, screw with the Slimani deal, screw with fans and their dedication and support for the club, the board and our captain.

I honestly think the player isn't leaving, not for these value. And I think he's going to get punished somehow for the terrible way he handled (or allowed himself to be handled) this whole thing. I can't fault him for his wish to move to a better league, to have higher wages and higher challenges. I do, however, not condone the way he did it. I read a blog post earlier today that sums up my feelings in this:

"You might stay at the club, you might even stay as captain, but you'll never again be THE Captain. You've lost that capital C, your greatness, your position as role model."

You don't get it. We've already had this crap flung at us by a previously respected captain, and Adrien knows it, and still this is how he chooses to act.

You're right, of course, and we know full well that they're professionals, and money speaks louder than loyalties. But considering he was saying a couple of months ago that he wouldn't leave without being champion first, this is a very bad move. Our president isn't going to budge, which he knows, and us supporters will take a long time to forgive.

But we will

never

forget.

Outwardly, perhaps. But some wounds take longer to heal, if they heal at all.

It´s been a bit hard to deal with all this but it's life and we have to face it. The player wants the best for him and the club also wants the best for itself.

I guess everyone knows, in the end, that Adrien didn't lie. There was probably a promise of letting him go. The issue here is him turning everything public, trying to force Sporting to do the deal. And that's not good.

If he keeps playing as well as he was showing last season, I'm sure in a few months everything will be ok. And it would be even better if we were champions.

All this because, in the end, we all know there are no true loyals, per se. Everyone is looking forward to have a better life isn't it? Adrien just made a mistake.

Now, if he comes back frustrated and keep that mood for weeks, everyone will want him out of the club, obviously.

It seems quite obvious to me that after a few weeks, the player will be fine and the crowd will be fine as well. Obviously nothing's gonna be the same again, but he'll be back to play for us at least.

Maybe I'm misreading their passion.

all seems somewhat OTT to me.

They want there best for their team. That includes keeping their skipper. Bet you was the same with Vardy, Mahrez & Kante even if you didn't show it.
