Buggsteam Posted 30 August 2016 Posted 30 August 2016 So Sporting have their captain that publicly comes out and says a deal has been done and he's moving to Leicester. Sporting owner is pissed at this and and states not for sale. Sporting fans said they want to win the league with their good players but they would rather have Silva play for their B team then be sold which would weaken their team if that happened but with out the money in the bank. They say it's not about the money it's the principle and could also affect the Slimani deal. Thats great way to run a football club with unhappy players in the reserve team. What does that say to any future signings they will want to make. Eapecially a play that's given over 15 years dedication to a club and if true was verbally told he could leave to progress his career. Personally I'd tell Sporting to do one, they arnt worth the money they think they are worth.

Sporting officially said his agents and father are messing with his head and ask comprehension for the player, so we can relax. Sporting doesn't want to sell because, after already selling Joao Mario and Slimani, it wouldn't be good to the squad to sell anymore. What it says to other players is that when we sign, we sign. Its not like they cant go, but if we feel the club might lose with that, then they won't. Adrien's offer it's not seen as a good deal for us. Period. One thing are €25M back in July, other is near the transfer window end. If he stays, I'm sure everything will be ok. He'll appologise and that's it. In January or next year I'm sure he's leaving.

I don't know if know but one of their players was sidelined because he didn't want to renew the contract. What happened is that the guy went to Benfica free because his contract expired. Sporting got nothing in return. Look it up the name of Andre Carrillo.

Isn't that important as well? Because he kind of broke the promise that he made, just saying.

Of course, if he wants to force a free move, he can force it for a long 10 months sitting on his neat couch. And who assured you that Bruno would make Adrien play for the B team? Stop making up more problems. The fans, I repeat, the FANS, a minority, right after the interview, started to vent their frustrations and some bright asshole came up with making Adrien play for the B team. It was two guys who said that, in a website. They were immediately shut off.
jayfox26 Posted 30 August 2016 Posted 30 August 2016 One thing I will never understand is why teams leave it so late to get deals done. I understand Slimani and Silva may not have been out first choices but I also fail to believe that we have only just decided we are interested in them. Teams do not want to lose their players this late in the window and we will end up either missing out on both or paying way more than we would have if we had signed them earlier in the summer.

You're right about that.

Its because agents gain more leverage the closer the clock ticks to the final hour. Less time weighs in the favour of the seller and creates a notion of lack in the buyers mind pushing up the price. Pushing up the agents fee.
Buggsteam Posted 30 August 2016 Posted 30 August 2016 Adrien said the deal was DONE. Look the word up in the dictionary. Done means done, not nearly done or completely done. i understand you don't want to sell him, same as we don't want to loose our best players. However to come out and say you would rather he play in the B team then go and for him to be unhappy still weakens your team as he still wouldn't be playing for you. Yes you will proberly keep him but for you Captain to say he wants to go and your fans saying he will apologise and all will be forgiven after publicly saying he wants out. Unhappy players up set the dressing room but if Sporting are happy with that then good luck to you.

Also the closer to deadline is the start of the season and teams arguably have a better sense of where they might need/want a player or two added

The deal is not done, it's ongoing and nearly done atm. Adrien's agent told him he was moving to Leicester for €25M, but the deal was still progressing at the time of Adrien's interview to OJogo.
Happy Fox Posted 30 August 2016 Posted 30 August 2016 They want £38m? I cannot see us forking that much, Transfer request is needed.

SilverFox Posted 30 August 2016 Posted 30 August 2016 This would be ridiculously expensive backup for Drinkwater. Waste of money.

reynard Posted 30 August 2016 Posted 30 August 2016 Looks like this will prove to have been a complete waste of time. Agents, the worst thing that has ever happened to the game.

He liked the offer and confided that our chairman made a promise of not cutting his legs on a move after years of loyalty, so everyone should get to an agreement soon. That´s what he said. Sporting said there was no offer. Obviously this doesn´t seem legit. There is an offer but we just don´t want to let him go after losing Joao Mario and Slimani already. If the deal was done, our manager could never said what he said the day before Adrien´s interview.
