If true would be superb.... hopefully accompanied by a couple of cbs

Mathias Jorgensen-Copenhagen

Likened to Virgil Van Dijk. Tall CB who's very good on the ball.

Geoffrey Kondogbia-Inter Milan

Wants game time, Leicester can offer him this while playing in the premier League.

Will Hughes-Derby

Very good passer, need someone like this to help Drinkwater.

Lassana Diarra-A destroyer, to sit Infront of the defence and help them out.

Let's hope so. These are the type of straws I'm clutching at right now.

After today I think we need to assess all departments not just the midfield.

If I could go back in time I'd have a proper pre-season playing Burton, Rotherham, Oxford etc.

Not playing Teams in America and others that escapes me. Getting beat by 2 or three goals.

Thats not going to build confidence in the Musa's, Amarteys etc. They must have thought " what have I got myself in to"

Losing Kante obviously has had effect, losing Mendy so early has really rocked the boat and the players all want to be fit for the Champions League.

You can't blame them for that, they'll never get the opportunity ever again.

The way I'm feeling, I'd drag Barton in just for the passion not the skill.

He will have been " massive" for someone on here on football manager, I'll bet.

Just to be "That Guy" I just checked him out on fm17 and he actually looks decent, tireless midfielder and seems to tick all the boxes.... that said it is just fm lol

I agree that we need at least 1 centre back and 1 centre midfielder although I'd like 2 of each!

How many spaces do we have in the 25 man squad? Would people need to leave to make way for new signings? Or have we got room to add a couple without selling anyone?

I'd be tempted to test Newcastle's resolve and stick a bid in for Jamal Lascelles.

Don't think they'd sell. They see him as a future England prospect and they'll go up no problem.

It was always going to need a relegation and time before the likes of Shelvey send Lascelles started shining. Now they have.

Sadly I agree Col, however possibly a decent contract with the chance to play CL football along with a move back to the Midlands might be tempting for the player. Furthermore I'm sure Wes could have a word.

One of my best players in subbuteo last year.

I've heard Silva ain't happening - sporting president up for re election in May and won't sell for fear of not being put in again.

Pace in defence is a must.  Most teams in the prem play with an agile CB and I think it would help a lot.

A fast RB linking up with Mahrez would be great for when he is outnumbered. Simpson is a great defensive choice against the more attacking teams but we need more ways of breaking down defences. Schlupp yesterday linked up nicely and put two really dangerous balls in, and we need that on both sides when playing "winnable" teams ideally. I know everyone dislikes Spurs here but I'd kill for fullbacks like their's when we we are crossing the ball in from 40 yards as our main attacking threat.
