Who wold buy him how he is playing st the moment and pay him his 100k a Week?

Why would we sell him at what would obviously be a massively reduced price, I doubt he is going anywhere, unless we just want to get rid

Power is still in the players hands.

If a barca or psg came sniffing even as a squad player like it or not they will seem an attractive proposition compared to us.

100k a week to those clubs is nothing. Look at what neymar and Messi etc earn. Barca have centre halves earning that sort of money.

Player kicks up a fuss. Player gets move. We just haggle over a fee slightly. It's just a fact of the modern game. Clubs don't want unhappy players.

15m for a young African CDM/CB..... feels a bit like deja vu...

he looks a monster from the video in the link but so did Amartey, I wouldn't mind us taking a shot on players like this as long as they come in with an established player as well

If we buy someone from overseas chances are it's going to take time to settle in and no means certain it will work. Greece is not that competitive a league. Why not just sign Schneiderlin and be done with it, he's 27 should be at his peak instead put out in the cold by Mourinho. Pretty sure I read at Southampton his tackles and interceptions were the highest in the prem which is exactly what we lost in the summer.

He's not just become a bad player. Man U spent 25 million ish on him. Luka looks good but it's always a gamble buying a player with no prem experience mid season.

Honesty.. Can't see us paying the kind of ransom transfer fees clubs will demand in January!

All those targets we missed in the summer will be 20/30% more expensive this time round!

Will we pay the money?

Nah!!

I think the not paying it in the summer may have been more we thought we were good enough. Now with hindsight we may be more liable to pay it. Also I hope they realise a team is not just wingers and strikers.

Id take schneiderlin in a heartbeat at Leicester. Question is, would he come? I'm not sure what wages he's on and Manure are after 25 million for him to recoup their losses. 6ft 1 though too - we could do with a bit more height in front of the back four.....

25m could be a snip. Higher finish could pay for that. Going down would cost millions.

Exactly. Presumably who ever we sign in Jan we will pay a lot for. They would probably accept a bit less than the 25m they paid for him if he's not getting a look in. Baring an injury he is about the least risk player we could sign. We need someone to replace the tackles and interceptions lost in the summer. He's led the premier league for both of those before by quite a large margin. 25m is not that much really with some of the crazy amounts going around.

Kante was 5 foot 7 supposedly although he looked way shorter than that. It's not height we need in front of the back 4 necessarily. Huth and Morgan are good in the air. We need tackles and interceptions.

should go back in for Paredes

Leandro Paredes has been linked with a January move to Arsenal and WhoScored.com explain why he'd be a good addtion.

You can never have enough central midfielders, at least in Arsenal’s case.

The summer arrival of Granit Xhaka means manager Arsene Wenger has ample options in the middle of the park, so much so that Jack Wilshere was forced to depart for Bournemouth in the hunt for regular first team action upon his recovery from injury.

Nevertheless, with Mohamed Elneny set to leave for the Africa Cup of Nations in January, Wenger could well be left short of options, particularly with an Arsenal injury crisis never too far away.

It’s seen the Gunners linked with a January move for Roma star Leandro Paredes. The Argentine has struggled to consolidate a starting spot under Luciano Spalletti this season, but has returned a vastly impressive WhoScored.com rating of 7.75 from his five Serie A starts this season.

The 22-year-old’s professional career is still in its infancy, but he has proven just how effective he can be when given the chance to impress.

Daniele De Rossi, Kevin Strootman and Radja Nainggolan are ahead of Paredes in the Roma pecking order at this point in time and with two-and-a-half years left to run on the youngster’s current deal at the Stadio Olimpico, the midfielder’s career is at something of a crossroads. De Rossi’s advancing years means the experienced Italian won’t hold down a regular starting spot at Roma forever, but a player of Paredes’ quality warrants regular game time, especially if he is to realise his immense potential.

Paredes spent last season on loan at Empoli, catching the attention of a number of Premier League sides, with Liverpool previously linked with a move for the midfielder, and for good reason. The player boasts a statistically calculated WhoScored.com strength of ‘taking set pieces’, with the Argentine player making 35 key passes from set pieces in Serie A since the start of last season, the fourth best return over that period.

Comparatively Arsenal have played just 15 key passes from dead ball situations in the Premier League this term, a relatively disappointing figure given the creative personnel available to Wenger.

Yet it isn’t just Paredes’ set piece tacking ability that stands him in good stead. Of players to make 10 or more Serie A appearances this season, an average of 2.7 interceptions per 90 minutes is among the best returns, while 2.5 tackles per game is also respectable.

The all-action displays in the middle of the park have certainly earned Paredes the adulation of his peers, while his distribution is also of the highest standard.

Of players to make 10 or more Serie A appearances, only Napoli’s Marek Hamsik (82.8) is playing more passes per 90 minutes than Paredes (76.7), while 101.3 passes per game in the Europa Leagueis the best in the competition this season.

He is hugely effective when it comes to picking out a team-mate, with a 90.3 per cent success rate in Serie A and a 91.1 per cent pass accuracy in the Europa League both impressive.

While he is unlikely to carry the ball forward too frequently, his ability to pick out a team-mate after winning possession holds him in high esteem. While Arsenal look to be moving away from the possession-based approach into a more direct style, an average of 56.4 per cent possession is still the third highest in the Premier League this season.

The Gunners are inundated with midfield options, but it’s fair to say Paredes would be a better option than Elneny and Francis Coquelin in the middle of the park, particularly if Wenger wishes to bring in a player whose style is similar to that of Xhaka.

Wilfred Ndidi

Who is Ndidi?

Ndidi is a 19-year old midfielder for Genk who plays as a defensive midfielder or central defender.

The 19-year-old, who can play in central midfield or defence, has caught the eye with his mature displays for Genk over the past two seasons.

And now newspaper HLN have reported that Leicester have opened the bidding to sign him when the window opens in January.

They are said to have lodged a cash bid of £15.5m which could rise to £18m in performance related add-ons.

However Genk are holding out for more money for the Nigeria-born starlet, and hope to scoop around £21.5m for any sale.

The club's technical director Dimitri De Conde told the paper: "Ndidi and [team-mate Leon] Bailey  have indicated that they want to stay until the end of the season.

"But suppose there comes a megabid, it is very difficult to keep them here."
