January Transfer Gossip

Pace in defence is a must.  Most teams in the prem play with an agile CB and I think it would help a lot.

A fast RB linking up with Mahrez would be great for when he is outnumbered. Simpson is a great defensive choice against the more attacking teams but we need more ways of breaking down defences. Schlupp yesterday linked up nicely and put two really dangerous balls in, and we need that on both sides when playing "winnable" teams ideally. I know everyone dislikes Spurs here but I'd kill for fullbacks like their's when we we are crossing the ball in from 40 yards as our main attacking threat.

Would Trippier be a shout? Do you think Tottenham will sell as he is laying second fiddle to walker.

Pontus Jansson for Leeds looks like a quality CB.

Lad at my work, Leeds fan, absolutely raves about this bloke. I can see where he's coming from.

I can see why, he is extremely calm on the ball (although this is purely based on this first half alone)

Pontus Jansson's on a season long loan until june 2017, so doubt we can get him in January.

I like the Zanko shouts personally. Although he won't be able to play in the next round of the CL, we really do need a CB. Or a RB and move Hernandez to CB.

In the champions league we won't need a ball playing centre half as teams will not sit back against us and we can counter attack meaning Morgan and Huth won't have to distribute the ball. In the league teams sit back and we have to break them down, having a CB who can start of attacks is vital as they will move the ball quicker and have a better range of passing.

Two centre backs, attacking right back and a CM and attacking midfielder would be perfect.

Signing Trippier, Keane, Silva, Camacho, and Sigurdsson would be a great window although probably over ambitious. Hopefully we'll get rid of Hamer, Benalouane, Schlupp, and Ulloa, and I can see Demarai Gray wanting to leave tbh although I wouldn't let him go.

5 players?lol we'll be lucky if we get one or two, and they'll probably be 19 year olds from chile that will never get an opportunity to play or a bang average player from la liga that's no better than what we've got.

Have an odd feeling Mahrez is unhappy and could be thinking of moving on. I wouldn't be surprised if I wasn't the only one with this thought.

He's only shown bits of what he was last season and some fans who saw him apparently being grumpy marching down the tunnel on Saturday may air the same opinion.

Plus, today's Telegraph says Ranieri is thinking of dropping him.

All well and good if he is unhappy and wants to move (big if as we don't know this) but on his current form who's gonna want him? A lot of people said that he would need to do what he did last season for another season or at least half a season to be considered by the top clubs. On current form he shouldn't be getting in our team, so not sure how he'd get in a top team. Having said that, he probably wouldn't have to defend as much in a top team

Leicester City ‘heavily’ interested in Olympiacos captain Luka Milivojevic

Leicester’s chances of keeping the Premier League title have probably ended already after they only won 3 games of the opening 11. Manager Claudio Ranieri is apparently looking to add to his team, with Luka Milivojevic an option.

Over recruitment in the summer may well be one of the reasons for the slow start. But if the latest Ranieri claimed interest is correct, there’s going to be more on the way in January.

The big Leicester loss was selling N’Golo Kante to Chelsea, and the club then brought Nampalys Mendy in from Nice, but the 24 year old has been held back with injury issues.

Just when it was thought he was recently returning, the Frenchman suffered yet another setback.

So into the potential transfer picture comes Luka Milivojevic, a 25 year old Serbian defensive midfielder, with the claims coming via Sport24 in Greece.

Luka Milivojevic

Milivojevic has been superb for Olmypiacos since signing for them in 2014, hence being captain. It’s only a matter of time before the midfielder leaves to test himself in a harder league, and no doubt get a much bigger pay packet.

Olympiacos officials are expecting a January bid from Leicester City and initial talks have already started, most specifically in London.

The Greek side don’t want to lose Luka Milivojevic, so it’s not in their interest to talk up a move. It would be a strange transfer rumour to pluck from thin air for the Greek media, which may suggest there’s actually something in this one.

Recruiting from Greek football isn’t the most obvious option for Premier League clubs. However, Leicester have shown in recent years that they’re prepared to be creative when looking for targets, casting their net wider than some others.

Luka Milivojevic to Leicester City doesn’t sound like the craziest idea on the face of it, and it’s certainly a story we’ll be keeping an eye on.

This appears to be a decent rumour to

Over recruitment? I'd hardly say that was a problem for us as we are still short by about 3 players. Poor recruitment may be more accurate. Only Slimani out if the summer signings has done OK. Zieler has been alright as well but the rest either don't play or just haven't been consistent. Bit like the whole squad I suppose

Who wold buy him how he is playing st the moment and pay him his 100k a Week?

Why would we sell him at what would obviously be a massively reduced price, I doubt he is going anywhere, unless we just want to get rid
