There has been a lot of discussion recently about us needing a few more additions in certain areas, the need for a better overall squad balance perhaps. So, in January, how many signings do we need & where? What would you be content with? OR maybe you believe our squad is fine as it is.

Summer 2017 is another transfer window as we know, so that's worth considering too. I do not think January needs an overhaul.

The poll is multiple choice.

I've gone for RB. Possibly LB but Chilwell will contiune to get better learning off Fuchs.

I went for RB, CB and CM. Mainly because when Simpson was out Hernandez did not fill me with confidence at all, so more capable cover is required there.

Personally I would like us to sign a centre half who can play the ball out from the back & is a bit more comfortable in possession than Huth and Morgan are.

Centre midfield looking for someone to replace Kante is essential as so far I'm not completely convinced Amartey can but I'm sure by January we'll know if he's up to it or not.

2 young quality centre halves that can distribute the ball better than Wes and Huth. 2 that could actually get into the team from the get go with the vision of implementing them properly next season, would love someone like Howedes or dragovic. A specialist left back and right back in cover of Simpson and Fuchs (chilwell nowhere near ready yet). A couple of good centre midfielders, maybe Nzonzi and Silva, possibly even Lee Jae Sung that was linked in the summer

Right back - in the mould of Fuchs. Solid at the back but got a beautiful delivery. Would look at Man United personally & go for either Valencia or Fosu-Mensah. Attacking full backs is over rated these days, hence why most top clubs don't succeed at the back no more. They look at full backs attacking ability rather than they're defensive side. These 2 however defend very well in my eyes always been impressed.

Centre Back - Might get shot down for this but I really am convinced in a few years time Michael Keane can become a top centre back. Especially if you get him on the weights a bit.

Centre mid - Another wizard in the middle to play alongside or help cover Drinky when needed. Got to be Silva from Sporting for me, the boy oozes class!

Even if or when Amartey and Mendy, are successfull and have a great half season we still need

another CM of quality, and if there is nothing coming from the youth, then a young 20-22yr old.

If James for any reason is not kicking off his career again, then yet again another quality player.

CB , is a must. 2 at least if not 3. again even if somehow Benaloune is re-found.

I might be wrong but I cant see neither Huth nor Morgan, having another 2 seasons after this,

but I would love both to finish their careers at city.

RB. I like Simpson he is not just a RB but he covers well around the penalty area, so I see no need in my mind to replace him, but we definitly need outside cover and quality.

I can understand club and manager not going over the top and buying en block,

W.Ham being a good example of the negative, and they invested in some top players.

A big BUT , being pl champions, we might of missed out in not using this time in our

history, of not throwing out the dosh, on Keane for example, or a top european

defender, and another midfielder, If we are not top 4 this season, it will be harder,

to grab that extra class style of footballer.

One thing that is disappointing for me, probably more than the transfer business,

other than Chilwell we are not seeing 3-5 players making a mark from the youth sides.

Lawrence also could turn out to be another Liam Moore case.

The whole squad is looking good, potential developement with what we have at present,

is there. Now until January we get on with  it and Back the  players and Claudio, especially

if needed, some patience with the new buys, then Gray, Chilli  and Amartey.

Doggy style!

Why change that?

It's a finisher, it's the ultimate. It's the Stone Cold Stunner of sex. As soon as you hit that, it's game over.

Certainly need a young, but highly-rated, CB or 2 for Huth and Morgan to give them tips from their added experiences.

I can see some people beginning to realise our current CB pairing won't be here for more than another 2/3 years at most.

Right back, yes, another 'worry' as Simpson can have off moments whilst Amartey isn't comfortable there.

I think we need a 3rd choice CB who is a step above Was, Benny and Hernandez. I know we haven't seen much yet of Hernandez and Benny but having Was as our 3rd best option on Tues at CB, just showed us how badly we need some more quality there. Would like us to go back in for Keane but I think it would be a waste of time and Burnley will only let him go in the Summer, if at all.

As I've said before, I think we need a young RB, similar to Chillwel, who has a bright future and can genuinely push Simpson now for a starting spot. I would be looking at the other top leagues around europe and trying to pick up an u21 international, already showing he is capable of playing at a high level and starting fairly regularly in the Serie A, La Liga etc.

CM is the area we need strengthening more than any other. Drinky is a machine at the moment and Amartey is showing early signs of being a competent Premier League player but we are still desperate for at least 1 top CM and would even argue, maybe 2 but that can wait until the Summer perhaps, especially if Mendy turns into another good buy. Silva is the obvious choice but you do wonder if Sporting have different ideas on that and we may be forced to look elsewhere. N'Zonzi is still top of my list and has a realistic buy-out clause, if we can convince him to come.

doubt we'd sign 3 players in January, 2 maximum.

RB would be nice, but not a first teamer. A young u21 that can learn how ranieri wants to play, like we did with amartey/gray.

Then a CM to cover for Drinkwater. Silva seems the obvious choice, however Clucas looks like a real talent at Hull. Doubt they'd sell until the summer though.

Answer is it is September. January a long way off. Who knows at this stage. Mendy could be a world beater, Hernandez improve and Slimani or Vardy could get injured. Who knows.

I was disappointed we didn't sign someone of genuine quality at centre back in the summer.

An injury to Huth or Morgan would be very worrying. Besides,  neither are spring chickens.

I think RB is the most urgent case. Despite the good will and dedication of Simpson everytime he is on the pitch, his limits are so obvious. Ranieri seems loving utility players who can play at different positions, i suggest the following names:

Hugo Mallo (Celta Vigo, around 11M £); can play as RB + CB.

Piszczek (Dortmund, 9M); RB+CB.

Darmian (MU, 10 M): RB + LB.

Rafael (Lyon, 6M): RB+LB.

And a name who can solve many problems alone: Matthias Ginter (Dortmund, around 8M): can play as RB, CB and CDM at just 22.

I think that we could do with a new centre midfielder as there will be games this season where I feel that we would be better off playing a 3-man midfield. The thing that I don't get about supporters is when they would like a quality player to come in as back-up, for example at right-back. In my opinion, Danny Simpson was the best defensive right-back in the Premier League last season. His defensive discipline allows Mahrez to have a freer role. In short, I do not believe that there is an upgrade available at right-back without spending £15m+ and £100K per week - and those players will still choose the top clubs in Europe over us. For all of the reasons listed above, the best that we can look for is a player for the future who can deputise for Danny Simpson in the event of injuries or suspensions. The same goes for centre-backs.
