The next centre back should be in the mould of Huth.

No nonsense, Leader. and the rock back there not sure why morgan gets all the plaudits cause whenever huths out we look shakey as sh1t.

we need 2 backups centre backs (after marcin and benalouane leaves in jan) in huth type : tall and strong and nasty :claudio:

and one backup Right back

and one Class DM/CM  such as Allan (napoli)/ matuidi/ nainggolan or even adrien silva.

by priority : 1) CB  2) CM  3) RB

I voted CB, RB and CM.

CB: We need cover for Wes and Huth.  Was is a liability and Benalouane never plays.

RB: Hernandez can do a job at RB but we need an actual back up RB to Simpson.

CM: If Drinky gets injured, we don't have a real impactful CM.  Andy King is diabolical.  Amartey looks ok as a CDM.  Haven't seen enough of Mendy.  James probably won't play for us again.

Pretty much the same opinion of nearly everyone. CM  CB   RB.  But if Silva is coming and he's a Defensive midfielder then is he going to take Mendy's or Amartey's position. Or is it a case of Silva and DD with Mendy moving forward into the offensive position. But we really need a creative midfielder so we might have to take a young promising talent.

As for CB. I think we missed a good one in Shane Duffy when Brighton bought him from Blackburn for little money. He's young big and strong and very good in the air.

Maybe Amartey might end up playing there if he doesn't nail down a position in midfield.

RB Simpson has done ok but always looks to be right on the edge and struggling to hold his man.

I assume we might have clear out in January also with Benny Etc going, Maybe even Schlupp as he's not improving which is a pity as he has everything else.

New RB, LB, CB, and CM. Silva specifically I'd like at the moment but we still need to see how Amartey and Mendy get on in place of Kanté. Either that or change to 3 in midfield

I think we need some cover for DD. We can't afford to rely on him all the time. I think we must get a defender or two. Preferrably younger players. Was is really getting on now, and Wes and Huth aren't far behind. Yet to see how good Chilwell and Hernandez really are, but I think we should get in one or two mainly for the future, but who could step in if needed. Maybe Amartey can do a job in defence, but I expect he'll probably be needed in midfield while it's so thin.

I reckon we're sorted for keepers, wingers and strikers for now.

1x playmaker / creative CM, 1x CB and maybe 1x full back, please.

From what I know, Silva is an attack minded CM, but with exceptional work-rate and stamina, similar to Drinkwater and so can do a job defensively as well. I think he would be partnered with Drinky and we would attempt to continue our 4-4-2 approach unless it becomes apparent that we can no longer be successful with that formation. I believe Amartey and Mendy will be cover if we do indeed sign Silva in Jan, but it seems a long way off and we just have to hope Drinky stays fit, Amartey continues to develop and Mendy comes back and looks like another top find!

I thought I read on here that he was another defensive Midfielder which I thought was strange given that we have DD and Mendy and now Amartey. I haven't seen him play so I'll have to take a look at him to see if he's good enough for us. I just hope we get someone comfortable on the Ball who can beat a man and make a pass.

I'd love us to actively chase after a right-back because if Simpson should ever be out for a prolonged period of time, we usually do poorly with three defenders (can Chilwell play RB, too?).

Another CM and possibly a right midfielder/right winger would be nice. Kapustka is more a central/left-hand side player, and we can't always rely on Albrighton to cover for Mahrez.

I wish Ranieri gave Benalouane a few more opportunities, because Yohan is more than decent. Centre-back situation's not an issue for me (yet).

Yes the Benalouane situation is a strange one. I think he was a CR signing and yet he hasn't given him a chance. He is a good player and could provide good cover but I'm not sure he'll ever get the chance.

I'd break the bank for brahimi! Last peice of the Algerian puzzle

Great player but would need to play 3 in midfield so that means dropping Vardy or Slim. Not going to happen or drop Drinky for a holding midfielder again not gonna happen. Just can't see where he would fit in.

Not convinced he can play Albrightons role he's better through the middle

Anyone think Sakho from Liverpool would be worth the risk? Very quick and was reportedly putting in good perfomances..? Seems to be a loose cannon temperment-wise and is frozen out by Klopp.

I would sign Sven van beek from feyenord and niklas sule from hoffenheim both CB who I think could come in now and add quality with also the long term in mind as they are in their early 20's.

Although it may sound controversial if we did get a new quality CB, I would play them alongside Huth.

Also nzonzi is is a must for me for both his all round game and his aerial ability.

N'Zonzi or Schneiderlin would be excellent additions to our midfield options. I'd also say Capoue too. To be honest it's not that our squad needs a dramatic overhaul, it's literally just a few positions here and there. CM, and possibly RB/LB.
