Sturridge shouldn't be anywhere near the starting line up. No hunger or desire. Absolute Bollocks.

It's just dropped but he reminded me

of Balotteli and Southgate played him for 80 minutes lol

I won't watch another England game again. Especially while the FA continue the same cycle of abject failure.

There were players on that pitch who shouldn't even be near the squad.

Was Henderson aware that we were in red tonight?

Don't watch on TV, don't go to the games, don't buy the shirts.

Hit them where it hurts, in their pockets.

Only then will anything change.

It will never change.

The difference is clear.

Izzy is right...it ain't a bad point, away from home.

The issue is how we played...which was dog turd throughout the side, except Hart.

I can't recall us having a shot in the second half apart from one that forced the great save.

Where on earth is this teams cutting edge?

Good point away from home against a tough, physical team. Top of the group, unbeaten, Russia here we come...

That is probably how the FA consider it which is worrying...

All the negativity on here. All the abuse. All the anger. All the frustration. Just goes to show how much everyone really cares deep down and is desperate for England to be successful. Love it. That's why we're the best football nation with the best supporters in the world.

It's not just the manager and players tonight is it. It's the entire set up. Since 2002-2004 something has been inherently wrong in the mentality of England. The FA select only "Yes" managers who will select the players from the big clubs. Because the players earn more from the big clubs, and coupled with the fact they are intensely scrutinised they have an incentive to not take the risks they would usually take in the League. They certainly don't perform as per their usual standard in the Premier League and try to make an easy side pass to not be the potential scapegoat.

The media is double edged sword which is so quick to big them up and so quick to humiliate them when things go wrong. We probably have the most self depreciative and self destructive media in Europe when they put their mind to it.

Tactically there is no identity as we try to copy whoever has the current trend set up (see Tika-taka and German directness) and ultimately create a very shyt diluted version. The manager, whoever it is, never picks a formation that maximises the potential of his squad which makes everything look lethargic.

I really don't want to think it as I support Leicester and England equally, but we need to not make Russia for a serious wake up call and for a full reform to take place. Of course the current set of England players are not great players, but as we've seen with our own team, if everything is right they can definitely become greater than the sum of their parts.

we didn't qualify in 2008.

the US of fuc king A finished above us in 2010 before we got annihilated by germany.

we scraped to pens in 2012.

we finished bottom of a group that costa rica won in 2014.

we lost to iceland after finishing below fu cking wales a few months ago.

i'm not sure any type of failure is going to teach anyone anything when nobody really seems to give a flying fu ck.

It's been 12 years since we put in a decent performance in a tournament.

Just think about that for a minute......12 years.

Southgate NO - the overall objective is not to qualify - the overall objective is to produce a team that can win a tournament you unambitious party line twat!

You have to qualify first.

Or it's the manifestation of years of abject failure.

It is the objective , but obviously not the final goal... but there is absolute zero chance we are getting near a tournament win for many many years. The FA needs a serious shake up from top to bottom for things to start to change throughout, no one seems to care how crap we have become .

It is a far cry from the 90's when we did have some genuine class teams that played for their country and were exciting to watch

So how do you solve these problems? There is a lot of them...

Bramley

Simpson - Elliott Moore - Darnell Johnson - Chilwell

Gray - Choudhury - Drinkwater - Albrighton

Vardy - Muskwe

(Tongue firmly in cheek)

G'won Southgate my son. Hope you get the job and make a huge success of it. I'm sure you'll give it 100% and put all your energy and passion into it. Stay undefeated in your next two games with another couple of clean sheets and it's yours. Fvck it. Let's give a young ambitious manager a chance I say.

I wouldn't mind him getting it, at least he does care which is a great start. Everything we have been doing for the last couple of decades clearly isn't working, about time the FA realised that

I admire your optimism but we all know we'll qualify out of this group and then lose to someone like Kazakhstan in the knockout stages.

Southgate just doesn't seem the type to command respect.

Manager of England has to be someone who the players respect as a man and an earner as sad as that is.

Some serious knee jerk over reactions here. It was a crap performance but a point away from home isn't terrible. Some saying they wanted us to lose, they want us not to qualify because that will make the FA change things. Change what? Are they suddenly going to be able to magic up 10 world class players? We've had 3 different managers in the last 4 games and not 1 of them has picked Drinkwater, do you think maybe it's him and not them?

Last season people were saying we should pick Vardy on form, well he hasn't been pulling up any trees this season.

Since getting embarrassed by not qualifying for Euro 2008 we have actually got worse so whatever the FA are doing to try to help bring those players we need through doesn't seem to be working... things are declining
