SuperMike Posted 20 October 2016 Posted 20 October 2016 We're gonna really struggle on set pieces - Benteke, Dann and Delaney a real handful. Also if we keep on hoofing, Dann and Delaney will have their easiest afternoon of the season. Really need a win - but can't see it.
sl27 Posted 20 October 2016 Posted 20 October 2016 I wonder why subs is always 3 strikers after playing 2 strikers, so we have a problem with the subs for the midfield and defense?

STUHILL Posted 20 October 2016 Posted 20 October 2016 Just hope we see a decent performance, as it has been a while since we have functioned to anywhere near what we did last season. Would bring Amartey and Gray in for Albrighton and King. I know King had a good-ish game against a poor Copenhagen, but he is more than likely to go missing again as per usual and we will be overun in midfield as he shadows the opposition players, without getting stuck in. I also think the future lies with Amartey or a another CM, so would prefer to go that route. Albrighton has been poor for a while now. No one can fault his work ethic, but so many of our attacks have broken down by him rushing his passes and looking for long balls that even Vardy can't get to. Gray is such an exciting prospect and he needs to be given more of a chance and I see this a perfect time to start him. Keep Vardy and Slimani together for this game, and hope they start to form a decent understanding and partnership, because they are our best 2 strikers but clearly they are not functioning well together, so hopefully more time together will change that. If it is the same old story after 45 mins, then look to swap Vardy for Okazaki, especially if Slimani is continuing to out work Vardy. Tough game against a big strong team. Play like we did against Copenhagen and will lose. Need to get back to playing with confidence and purpose and cut out these aimless long, floated balls to no one.

jon1bc Posted 20 October 2016 Posted 20 October 2016 Tough choice between Amartey and King, I don't think Amartey is up to it, he has a cautious style of play - predicatable sideways passign that get's us nowhere. King played well against Copenhagen but there is a risk he will get lost in the game. We desperatley need an offensive impact midfielder to play with Drinkwater. I don't think changing the front two everymatch is helping the situation. If Slim and Vardy are ever going to be a good partnership, they need game time together.

suffolk fox Posted 20 October 2016 Posted 20 October 2016 Jesus wept most of you on here don't deserve to support Leicester. If you aren't happy and don't get behind the boys each and every game and continually moan one suggests you go and support someone else. Mighty Palace have beaten Sunderland, Middlesborough, Stoke this season. Drawn with Bournemouth and Everton. Teams that most would be expected to beat. Let's not big them up to make out they are Barcelona. We are at home and our home record is exceedingly good. Away from home we have lost to Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United. Most, teams in the premier league would struggle away to those teams they are no mugs. Hull, first game of the season was a fluke result and results like that happen at the beginning of the season. Get behind the team, the manager, they need us. Don't continually bitch, moan and show negativism. It's like cancer can spread and before you know it the team will suffer cos the fans aren't behind them. We are unbeaten in the champions league. Think about that for the moment. Little Leicester ripping it up in the Champions league. Be loud and proud. instead of moan, moan, moan bitch bitch bitch. You can only beat what's in front of you. In the Champions league we are. Up to the moaners who said, Leicester will be an embarrassment in the Champions league. Man City, Spurs and Celtic are the embarrassing ones.

Somewhat unfair on Celtic who don't receive large amounts of Sky and other funding and are in a massively hard group.

Brendan Rodgers on telly the other day, quote, "we can beat anybody at home". Unrealistic, but positive. Our fans, if Ranieri had said that, "what a prat, playing like we are, hoof ball etc, etc, read just now, "wait till we get someone decent in the Champions league we will get stuffed etc" Not good, not good at all. Be bloody positive for gawds sake. Quote, "Let's look at who Copenhagen have beaten in their 23 game unbeaten run". Lists said teams. Then says, and loads agree, " Teams in the Championship would beat those". Unbelievable. You our have to beat the teams that are put in front of you we are.
Blizzard Posted 20 October 2016 Posted 20 October 2016 This is going to be a very hard game. Palace are no pushovers. I am expecting a draw. Firefox, I'd happily go with that formation, bringing on Gray if need be. He has to be on the bench.
Wymsey Posted 20 October 2016 Posted 20 October 2016 Prefer Amartey. Palace are physically tough and strong, and don't think King would be at his best due to this imo.
Dan Posted 20 October 2016 Posted 20 October 2016 This isn't a season definer but we really do need to win this for me. I'll be amazed if we aren't beaten next week and failure to win this will have us perilously close to the bottom three. I don't think we will though.
RoyFox Posted 20 October 2016 Posted 20 October 2016 Although I'd like to see Gray soon, Zaha is far too dangerous to leave Fuchs exposed, also Puncheon is in great form and drifts wide, on that basis I'd play Albrighton, despite his forward play being off at the moment. Undoubtably we'll have to ride the storm, our best method of attack will be via Mahrez on the break as Townsend will provide space. Vardy deserves to keep his spot and he's probably our best method of scoring in this game, Delaney and Dann can get outpaced (like Vardy did against Dann at the KP last year) Just as long as CR tells the team to play quick forward passes on the ground and Slimani is used to hold the ball rather try and beat Delaney and Dann in the air. King I feel offers more creativity and positional intelligence than Amartey, if Slimani can hold the ball well, King could make one of his late ghost runs. So same 11 to keep some continuity, we really need these 3 points.
jammie82uk Posted 20 October 2016 Posted 20 October 2016 Highlights from today's press conference Matty James is back training with the first team for the first time without pain will hopefully play with the youth team next week Vardy, Morgan and King didn't train today Vardy has a groin problem but should be ok King got a kick on the shin No mention why Morgan didn't train Palace are similar to Copenhagen tall and strong He says "We must be clever"

Up to the moaners who said, Leicester will be an embarrassment in the Champions league. Man City, Spurs and Celtic are the embarrassing ones. The Hull result wasn't a fluke. They wanted it more and deserved to beat us. We were battered at Liverpool, Utd and Chelsea (if not for Kasper we'd have conceded more at Chelsea and Liverpool) while Southampton deserved to beat us at home and only by the luck of God did Austin's half volley strike the post. I always back the boys but if we haven't been good enough then I'll say it. Having been to all of our games this season apart from Liverpool away, we have not been good enough. Simple as that. We don't look good enough or even bothered enough. And then you expect people not to moan? If the players aren't giving 100% then you'll find more negative reception around our end. Palace will be a tough game, no doubt about it. They are very good at set pieces and we can't defend them. They have two commanding centre backs and all we do is continue to knock the ball aimlessly long. I hope we win, I think we'll win, but I wouldn't be surprised if Palace got a result. And I don't know why you're dismissing their draw at Everton either considering Everton have been very strong this season, Everton would probably beat us.
fridoux Posted 20 October 2016 Posted 20 October 2016 i realy like albrighton, his attitude ..etc...etc but if he plays on saturday, it will be abnormal
Fox92 Posted 20 October 2016 Posted 20 October 2016 We're at home and should be looking to attack. Palace will just sit with 10 behind the ball and look to break, especially out wide where their wingers are very quick. Gray would be in for me. I appreciate Albrighton's defensive work but he'd be in for Spurs away next week. Switch it up a bit. Morgan and Huth need to be strong against Benteke. No doubt Palace will score from a set piece. Kasper Simpson -- Morgan -- Huth -- Fuchs Mahrez -- Amartey -- Drinkwater -- Gray Vardy -- Slimani
raba Posted 20 October 2016 Posted 20 October 2016 Afternoon chaps. Well done on last season, cracking effort, and it's fantastic to see you doing so well in the CL. Anyway, we go again. Mandanda Ward Dann Delaney/Tomkins Kelly Zaha McArthur Ledley Townsend Puncheon Benteke We lack strength in depth so our starting eleven pretty much picks itself.
irishfoxkev Posted 20 October 2016 Posted 20 October 2016 For info just seen an ad on Sky that this is the live match that Sky Ireland will be broadcasting live on Sat......Good news for anyone living in Ireland as won't have to chase around looking for decent live stream....Not sure if any of you in the UK can pick up Sky Ireland on Saturday afternoons...channel 405 I think.....Maybe some of you techy wizzards will know how to access it from the UK.....No doubt it will be a tough game but hoping we will keep our superb home run going...score first and early and I reckon we will get couple more ....3 - 1 to the foxes

Albrighton was anything but technically gifted against Copenhagen. He put in one decent cross (for the offside goal) and everything else he did with the ball was awful. Yes he undoubtedly puts in the effort and puts in a shift but he's been awful this season with the ball. I don't understand what Vardy, Morgan, and to a lesser extent Albrighton have to do to be dropped. I'm all for showing faith in players but you have to draw the line somewhere. Ok let's talk about this season, Gray came in for the Hull game and was immediately dropped with great effect
