For me he's a just quality footballer who can run, tackle, get stuck in and find a pass (like the one to Vardy at home to Man Utd last season). Desperate times call for desperate measures. Anyone with me....anyone? I was just saying this to my wife (who took little notice). I could see him left Amartey middle and King Right...King plays better a little wider anyway and Amartey wins a lot in the air. Schlupp at Left back would be great to cope with pace of Traore In my mind THIS is by far our best option!!
Livid Posted 24 November 2016 Posted 24 November 2016 We're going to have to take a risk. Do we trust King and/or Amartey to find their bite or do we go and try to fit a square peg in a round hole ?
Buzzell Posted 25 November 2016 Posted 25 November 2016 Zieler Fuchs Huth Morgan Simpson King Okazaki Amartey Mahrez Slim Vardy

Vindaloo FOX Posted 25 November 2016 Posted 25 November 2016 as long as we have 3 CM's i will be happy . King and Amartey worries me and sadly i feel CR will stick with 442 .

kingcarr21 Posted 25 November 2016 Posted 25 November 2016 Fuchs in midfield. Not so sure about that. Has he ever played there at previous clubs? I would probably go 4-1-3-2 Zieler Simpson Huth Morgan Fuchs Amartey/King Albrighton Mahrez Schluup Vardy Okazaki Not a big fan of Mahrez behind the strikers but Albrighton and Schluup can get up and down the pitch to help Amartey/King whilst we are short in midfield. Is Slimani still out? Maybe even get Gray and Musa in there for Albrighton and/or Schluup. Certainly a dilemma

evil jack Posted 25 November 2016 Posted 25 November 2016 Merson says draw (1-1), Lawrenson says Leicester win (2-0). Not sure if either of them are aware of the Drinkwater absence... Everyone else is only talking about Chelsea v Spurs.

The Algeria international missed last weekend’s clash with Watford, as well as the UEFA Champions League victory over Club Brugge on Tuesday, due to a minor groin injury. Meanwhile, left back Ben Chilwell and midfielder Nampalys Mendy have both returned to training, as has striker Leonardo Ulloa. “Everybody is getting better,” Ranieri said ahead of Saturday’s fixture. “Today (Thursday) Ben Chilwell trained and Nampalys Mendy trained. “Ben Chilwell and Mendy aren’t [fit] because it’s their first training session together and they’re not ready. “I think also tomorrow I’ll check on [Islam] Slimani if he’s fit. Kasper Schmeichel also started slowly to move the hand – some movement with the balls. “Leo [Ulloa] now is much better. He suffered with his back but today he trained very well.” The Foxes will be without suspended midfielder Danny Drinkwater for the clash, but Ranieri has confidence in his squad to continue to play positively. “Drinky (Danny Drinkwater) is an important player for us but I’m sure the team will react very well,” Ranieri added. “The operation will be the same tactically. Of course it’ll change the individual movement of the players because Drinky knows very well the movement and the others have to make their movement. “I hope the players that are involved in the middle of the field play well and play together.” Read more at http://www.lcfc.com/news/article/2016-17/ranieris-fitness-update-slimani-mendy-chilwell-ulloa-3434421.aspx#CHsZHy1zoxiU4rAK.99

Anyone else find it sad we have gone from champions to thinking we will lose at home to a newly promoted team because we are without one midfielder. Summer transfer business was shocking and has put to bed any chance of us progressing to be a top club. best chance in history to attract very good players and we didn't.
ozvaldo Posted 25 November 2016 Posted 25 November 2016 Really looking forward to watching King & Amartey in that 2 man midfield.

filbertway Posted 25 November 2016 Posted 25 November 2016 Going to go out on a limb and assume the team will be Zieler Simpson Morgan Huth Fuchs Mahrez King Amartey Albrighton/Schlupp Okazaki Vardy Subs: Hamer, Hernandez, Schlupp/Albrighton, Musa, Gray, Kapustka, Slimani (Ulloa if Slim isn't ready) Would be pretty shocked if it's not that.

Oi, I never said that. My Drinkwater comment was regarding THEIR predictions.
drofmor56 Posted 25 November 2016 Posted 25 November 2016 Like to see Okazaki play more as an out and out striker...he scored loads of goals in the german league and has scored some good ones here. Believe he has a hat trick him in !..would be nice to see it against the Boro
Guest Col city fan Posted 25 November 2016 Posted 25 November 2016 Surely Ranieri isn't going to rely on King to have to compensate for Amartey in a 442? Surely he's going to go with a three man central midfield? Drinkwater can just about cope (at home) but I'm not sure King can. If James is anywhere near being fit, get Amartey playing behind King and James and leave Vardy up front.

Haha with the blatant issue of our weak midfield become even weaker, there have been a fair few different idea and suggestions of how we can compensate this. It feels like I am going out on a limb to suggest Ranieri ignores these and just persists with his favoured tactic. I just don't see Ranieri deviating from his favoured system, he seems pretty rigid and set in his ways.
allotment-fox Posted 25 November 2016 Posted 25 November 2016 Remember Everton Away last season real crap weather, standing a couple of rows behind us was Drinky sidelined with a hammy. and Rob (H) banned. the line up that day was Schmeichel, Simpson, Morgan (c), Wasilewski, Fuchs, Mahrez (De Laet 83), Kanté, King, Albrighton (Dyer 71), Okazaki, Vardy (Ulloa 87) ran out winners so missing a couple that day was not a problem, I know we don't have Kante but bet your bottom dollar there is a plan in place I'm going for a city win and by a couple of goals COYF

Arriba Los Zorros Posted 25 November 2016 Posted 25 November 2016 Can't we go Amartey and James with Kingy playing more forward?
