sylofox Posted 23 November 2016 Posted 23 November 2016 With no drinky first name on the team sheet will be. Okazaki.
foxy boxing Posted 24 November 2016 Posted 24 November 2016 we need to stay competitive and hit these with plenty of pace. we have enough quality and we need to show it, obviously with drinky missing it is a huge whole and we may need to bypass the midfield for long periods of the game and get quick balls up to Vardy and Okazaki to run on to. whoever plays in midfield need to get their tackles in and be defensively on it and get the ball out wide and upfront as quickly as possible

evil jack Posted 24 November 2016 Posted 24 November 2016 Not looking forward to this game at all. Just wait for the MOTD analysis. Circles and arrows everywhere.

Solihullfox Posted 24 November 2016 Posted 24 November 2016 Can't see us being competitive in this or the next two fixtures with Drinky missing and a midfield that is potentially King and Amartey. For me it has to be a formation change with 3 in midfield .......but who is going to join King/Amartey ? Bit of a risk throwing Matty James back in but we may have no choice. So 3 at the back, wing backs, 3 across the midfield with Vardy and Okazaki to start up front.

A God amongst men. An icon if you will. Only one man can look down on Tonton. The one above all, the chosen one, the living tribunal that is Mr To Madeira. Wept a bit even as I typed that. Love you To. I would say Barnes is more of a Mike Duff. X

Ric Flair Posted 24 November 2016 Posted 24 November 2016 It's going to be an intriguing few weeks for Ranieri, get it wrong and we are in serious trouble. We badly needed January to come prior to Drinkwater's suspension but now it's so much worse. A fully fit Matty James and at least there's a decent alternative but that being said the creative ability of James, King and Amartey is the square root of fcuk all. I hope Ranieri is brave enough to look at Kapustka and/or Harvey Barnes. It's not an ideal situation for either of them but sometimes managers are forced to do such things and players can flourish. Look at Rashford last season, was nowhere near the first team squad but had to be drafted due to lack of alternatives. Utd could have played players out of position but LVG to the plunge and Rashford is probably 2 years ahead of schedule now. Kapustka is a creative player, in a 3 man midfield he could make a name for himself. I think that would be my preference. Too many questions marks over James fitness and Barnes, bless him it just doesn't seem to be Ranieri's style at Leicester to take a chance.

Not a bad shout, if we tell him to lay off the ball quickly and have Okazaki close to him to play off. But Claudio isn't going to fiddle with the formation, hopefully he surprises me. A new system might give the players a lift and something to think about.
Monk Posted 24 November 2016 Posted 24 November 2016 I agree. System clearly not working well right now so a change would probably be a good thing.

Such a headache deciding who plays where, rest assured Claudio will play 442 as a result. Mahrez is going to be even more isolated on the wing with Amartey and Simpson around him.
les-tah Posted 24 November 2016 Posted 24 November 2016 Without Drinkwater i struggle to see how we would win a midfield battle.. we need a tinker of all tinker and probably just go all out attack
Fox92 Posted 24 November 2016 Posted 24 November 2016 Been worried about this game, Middlesbrough are a strong and organised side, they've only conceded 13 goals.... But even more so now if Drinkwater isn't playing. Wouldn't surprise me if they got something from the game.
StriderHiryu Posted 24 November 2016 Posted 24 November 2016 Very nervous for this one (and the next two). Drinky has had a few bad games recently but against Brugge he again showed why he's our best player this season. Interested to to see what Ranieri does. Most likely will go with King and Amartey in a 442 but he may go for something unorthodox given the situation. This is is the first league game we will play without either of the best central mid pairing of last year so omens aren't great. Am praying for a performance from nowhere and a vintage Andy King. COYB!
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 24 November 2016 Posted 24 November 2016 This is the team I'd go with on Saturday, for the visit of Middlesbrough. Pre season I predicted Boro to be alright this season, and I still stand by that. From what I remember they recruited well in the summer and I actually feel Karanka & his side are probably more suited to the Premier League. Zieler Simpson Morgan Huth Fuchs Mahrez King Amartey Albrighton Okazaki Vardy In terms of ourselves, not having Drinkwater isn't great but I feel King and Amartey will do ok. I'd keep Albrighton and Okazaki in after their showings vs Club Brugge on Tuesday night. Our link up play with Okazaki in the side is superb and undoubtedly for me, he's a real key player in our system working well. Neat finish on Tuesday too. Slimani is back for this one I believe. I could've put him in the eleven but I feel like Vardy is going to start scoring very soon. Of course, we haven't seen too much of the Vardy - Slimani partnership so I'm not sure, it could potentially still work though. There's also a case for each of Gray, Musa and Schlupp.

Wymsey Posted 24 November 2016 Posted 24 November 2016 Albrighton in the middle may mean Musa wide again. Wouldn't mind that but needs to be better at decision-making in the final third.

With this news might he play in a two man central midfield in our usual 4-4-2 or maybe in central midfield in a different formation? We could go 4-1-4-1 with Amartey in front of the back four with Mahrez, King,Albrighton,Schlupp and Vardy or Slimani as lone striker.
