lcfcfoz Posted 22 November 2016 Posted 22 November 2016 Bayer leverkusen (aranguiz) confirmed. Next assuming Madrid beat Dortmund and psg beat arsenal and bayern beat atl madrid as I expect. then you can add Dortmund. atl madrid. arsenal and man City (assuming barcelaona win group) finish 2nd can't meet them. can't meet our group runner up. leaving 2 groups a shoot out between Lyon and Sevilla, hoping lyon short trip, then other group anyone of napoli benfica or my favourite who I want us to get besiktas. my 1st choice besiktas, 2nd lyon, 3rd choice levurkusen. 4th & 5th atl Madrid and least favourite Dortmund, failing this would not want psg (same quality as atl Madrid and Dortmund) if arsenal win that group, would be comfortable with napoli and benfica as I am with levurkusen.
Brainy Posted 23 November 2016 Posted 23 November 2016 We can't play English teams either so a PSG win tomorrow will be nice and Barca to win their group. Still leaves us potentially with Dortmund/Madrid sadly
ZeGuy Posted 23 November 2016 Posted 23 November 2016 1. Lyon would be the most favourable draw. 2. Don't underestimate Besiktas, they're actually second in the Superlig and a tough nut to crack when they play at home. 3. Don't know for Leverkusen since I didn't follow them closely this season. They're not doing great in the Bundesliga but they're a german team 4. Playing an italian team is never easy. Napoli might have lost their best striker and be currently 6th in the Serie A, they still were runner up of their League last year. They're no mugs. Still beatable on a very, very good day. 5. Sevilla, compact, well organized team with a Nasri who seems to have been reborn. Very tough but somehow doable. 6. PSG would be a difficult draw. Ibrahimovic isn't there anymore and Emery is still tinkering, but they have world class players and seem to slowly have found their balance again though. Answer tonight. 7. Dortmund would be a really exciting game. They play a beautiful, offensive football. Could be costly for the Foxes defense though. 8. Real/Barca/Bayern/Athletico are for me unplayable in the current form. 9. Benfica ???
BrummieFOX Posted 23 November 2016 Posted 23 November 2016 Leverkusen would tick all the boxes for me.
Master Fox Posted 23 November 2016 Posted 23 November 2016 Come March we'll be a better team than now. Has to be Real Madrid for me. Imagine going there and winning.
RonnieTodger Posted 23 November 2016 Posted 23 November 2016 Every possible opponent will be better than anyone we've faced so far. The good thing is that every team finishing 2nd will want us in the draw, and that might give them a slight overconfidence. Despite winning the group, there's a very real chance we'll end up with Bayern/Atletico or Dortmund/Real Madrid

While I expect a heavy beating from the big sharks (Real/Bayern/Athletico/Barca and very probably Dortmund), there's still a chance with the others if CR can sort out his tactics and the players play for their lives.
Ashley Posted 23 November 2016 Posted 23 November 2016 No doubt the majority of this forum will want Dortmund or Leverkusen over the German wank fest we seem to have
Ted Maul Posted 23 November 2016 Posted 23 November 2016 Some amazing potential away trips in there...

Finnegan Posted 23 November 2016 Posted 23 November 2016 Benfica or Besiktas probably our best/most realistic chance.

ST20 Posted 23 November 2016 Posted 23 November 2016 I think Leverkusen would be our best chance of going through again.

Dan Posted 23 November 2016 Posted 23 November 2016 I'd take Leverkusen if offered it now. Be hilarious if Arsenal draw 2-2 tonight, all but guaranteeing they finish 2nd.

purpleronnie Posted 23 November 2016 Posted 23 November 2016 Find it odd that people don't want to draw a big team in the next round. Isn't that the best thing about being in the Champions League?. I understand that people want us to go further but we ain't winning it (I know, I know).
Wymsey Posted 23 November 2016 Posted 23 November 2016 Ticket prices will rocket, no matter who we get. Ask your boss for a decent pay rise.
suffolk fox Posted 23 November 2016 Posted 23 November 2016 It's written in the stars it's going to be Athletico Madrid
kingcarr21 Posted 23 November 2016 Posted 23 November 2016 I really want Real Madrid but i would put money on it being Atletico. Revenge on the cards maybe
Ashley Posted 23 November 2016 Posted 23 November 2016 Don't get me wrong though I do like Germany as a country lovely people. Berlin was brilliant away with England last year and no doubt il be doing Germany away in March again at Dortmund. But would prefer it if we got a easier tie than draw one of the big boys and potential go out straight away!

Maybe because you'd want to go as far as possible? It's a long run and even the big teams hope for an easy draw.
Fox92 Posted 23 November 2016 Posted 23 November 2016 I'd rather a side who are similar to us/we have the ability to beat.

The big teams could win it though. If we draw a smaller team and get knocked out...which is likely given our performances it will all end in a damp squib. Give me a team like Dortmund or Madrid and have a once in a lifetime competitive game any day.
