About time Big Cliff spoke publicly in favour of safe standing if he's an L1 Head really...

he said he sits in L1, he's probably right at the front wishing the rest would shut up and watch

Imagine people in L1 actually emailing the club to complain about not having a clapper.

The whole enterprise is just becoming embarrassing now. We're probably already famous all over Europe for being "the club with the clappers". Just get rid.

more people like ands use them than don't if you don't want to use it then just chuck it under your seat and forget about it like I do

Clappers have their place and I am still of the opinion they're needed, they get people who don't clap and get involved clapping and involved.

However i'd personally rather use my hands anyway.

The argument has always been that they get many fans who wouldn't usually join in with atmosphere / chanting to join in.

Thing is, the atmosphere at the last few home games hasn't been good. Especially compared to last season, so what's the point in them when that's the case?

Atmosphere hasn't been good, probably reflected by our poor performances. Last season it's all sailing when we're top of the league. But during our 'great escape' season - well, the latter part of the season at least - it was decent atmosphere.

Clappers were very effective last year, now that nobody can be arsed to sing we are blaming the clappers.

lollollolAny one else see the funny side of this. And no I have not read the thread. L1 moaning they have no clappers. Yet 60% plus on here want rid of them. So instead of swapping the kop and the FS over can we now swap L1 with the rest of the KP lollollol

Next is they will tie your hands and tape up your mouths before game for being too rowdy and clappy.

Or in Derby's case.

Silence of the Lambs.

Will they ban coins next, as palace fans threw enough, and police and stewards did sweet fa, it's ok that's not as dangerous as a piece of cardboard.

What exactly can police or stewards do if people throw coins and they don't see who? There are literally thousands of people to look at and about 50 police and stewards around the away end trying to observe. CCTV can't pick up coins and unless he's wearing a high vis it's highly unlikely anybody is going to spot some gimp lobbing something in a split second.

The clappers have been gotten rid of because too many people throw them (and roll them up into a ball with a laggy band). It's only a matter of time before someone loses an eye, whether it's an away fan or a home fan, and then it's the club who get done for negligence.

They've made a very smart move and I hope they do the same for N section.

How about turn and face the palace fans, instead of just looking at us, who to be fair was watching the game, I know not all the time, but on this occasion, have spotters, use the cctv, it's not hard to spot people throwing.

We know how clear the cctv is, after that program where they spotted one city fan banging in the back, and threw them out.

So don't give me this crap, what can they do, there is plenty they can do, but they don't want the confrontation, and it's only time before someone gets hurt.

And just to clear it up, I raised this issue as a comparison of the dangers of the two, I like many around me have no interest in the clappers, as they get put under my seat every game, I think they are plastic and shite, the only time they look good is for a visual display, I.e Remembrance Day, other wise annoying.

Just think the whole thing is pathetic, banning an area due to 1 or 2 thrown in the away end, and worst case, get a paper cut, if they want to get that pathetic, the need to ban far more that's a risk to health and safety.

Use the cctv that is right above us and ban the few that are doing it.

They won me over during the great escape. They genuinely helped create a great atmosphere.

I tend to leave mine on the seat / floor but undoubtedly those who didn't clap or join in do when clappers are present.

Unfortunately, some of those who clapped anyway now decide they will also use the cardboard and the singing is getting drowned out.

Most chants these days just sound like thousands of clappers and it's holding back an atmosphere. Wouldn't mind seeing them phased out, perhaps Kop and East stand without them.

People who sing, shout and make noise anyway don't use clappers.

People who don't normally sing, clap use them.

Others are only there do they can leave at 83mins if we are losing to get the bus home quicker!!!!

I'm in L1,don't use them BUT do take them home for the kids.

I now have to get them from the clubshop whenever I can be arsed( But I just walknover to k block and get a couple)

It's NOT really newsworthy is it??!
