They needs us now more than ever before...

We are in a mess! It doesn't matter who we pick, the team looks absolutely shot. However, we the fans can change that! We need to get behind our lads on Saturday, make The KP a couldron of noise like it was for every home game last season.

Whether we misplace a pass in the opening few seconds, make a defensive mistake, or even concede early on, we need to get right behind our players, it will be massive for them!

In the most polite possible way.....f**k off. How about they do their jobs that they're paid handsomely to do and stop fleecing this club. Laughing and smiling after another gutless performance.

I wouldn't pick a single player from tonight to turn out Saturday. They need to convince us they give a shit not the other way around.

Ok but if Schlupp ever sets foot on the pitch in our kit again I am chucking abuse at him until he disappears down the tunnel.

Players will get my support until they stop trying. Schlupp has never started trying so he'll get no love from me. Hopefully he's made an example of IF he doees ever play for us again and gets roundly booed.

If the players aren't going to show any pride it's time the fans did. Title or not, relegation or not, we need to remember what the club is all about. It's not about winning, it's about grafting. Fight hard on Sunday and I won't stop singing. But if you're going to walk around and pull out of challenges I hope a cascade of boos show them what we expect.

Not sure what more fans can do, than travel all that way to Porto to watch and support, and that is what they are rewarded with?! I'm realistic and know we were probably not going to win with that team, but the lack of effort and desire was truly awful. Many of these players should have been running themselves into the ground, to try force their way into an already failing first team. The formation may have been wrong, we may have been outclassed, confidence may be low, but that does not excuse the lack of intensity and effort that was showed tonight.

I'm sure the fans will turn out in force again on Saturday, but it is really up to the players to give them something to cheer about, even if it is just closing players down and non stop running and genuine effort.

Will people wake up and realise the players don't look bothered.

We travel all over to watch them, work all week, and they keep putting in heartless performances... how about they perform for a change.

This is a self-inflicted mess. The players had little pressure on them this season- there was no expectation of a repeat performance, even top four/six, just to be stable in the league and have a go in the Champions League. It wasn't too much to ask. For five games they'd managed the second part, they've completely buggered up the first. Don't forget they've been handsomely rewarded, they aren't underdogs on 30k a week anymore.

We have good enough players to remain in mid-table, around where Stoke and Bournemouth are. They have nobody to blame but themselves and if the crowd turn they can't complain, I'm afraid.

Your saying it as if us as fans don't put in the effort.. We began the season on a high and the atmosphere was great.

Na I don't mean it in that way at all and I agree with your second point. I also agree with everyone else saying the players have to give us something to cheer about. But on Saturday, I'd just like us to be positive, especially if we go 1 nil down, if anything, it may just make some of the players question themselves and up their game, make them realise that we are a proud football club!

Bored of these kind of threads and comments. The fans turn out week after week accross the UK and now even Europe, and for what? to watch that dross?

How can you encourage support for poor passes when we cant even string 2 together all match? I always encourage after mistakes but these are not mistakes, they are effortless performances.

But they are not upping their game, they are playing like they have a free pass to put in half arsed performances.

Maybe when they get booed off on Saturday for the first time in years they will twig that they cant do this shit and be applauded for it.

I will not boo myself but I can see this coming and I cant see us getting anything out of the Man City game, then again I cant see us doing Bournemouth either.

Usually I would agree with this sentiment. Back the players when they're low on confidence and just not playing well. But this group of overpaid players think that last season is enough to no longer care. It's not all about quality, we showed that last year. Where is the desire? Where's the hunger to run further and work harder than the opposition? We had it in bucket loads last year. It enabled us to win games when we weren't at our best. That today was a ****ing shambles. I for one wouldn't accept it if I was a ST. I'm glad I won't be there on Saturday evening. It's going to be unbearable I fear.
