Crazy Kop Corner Posted 10 December 2016 Posted 10 December 2016 Has to be Danny Drinkwater for me. He looks a leader on and off the pitch to me. Also totally plays by example which is important.
Guest Danny Clender Posted 10 December 2016 Posted 10 December 2016 From the options we have, it has to be Schmeichel for me. I'm never keen on Goalkeepers taking the captaincy, but not sure on anybody else. Fuchs would be my next choice, great motivator and intelligent. Drinkwater is a logical choice, but not so sure, seems a little shy to me and prefer him to play with freedom. I'd be keen to see how Slimani progresses, seems to command natural respect at the moment and I would not argue with him.

CR "Jeff I'm going to make you captain" Jeff "Oh fvck boss you can't do that" CR "Why Jeff?" Jeff "Well boss it's like this. First off I don't own a boat. Second I get really sea sick"
ian_marshall Posted 10 December 2016 Posted 10 December 2016 Drinkwater for me. Think he's experienced so many highs and lows with us and England that his experience could be crucial to managing some of the younger players development. He always seems to be at the centre of things off the pitch, doesn't court controversy, and generally comes across as quite a balanced character. Kasper would certainly be a close second but I prefer an outfield player as captain who can manage the game on the fly.
crazyleicester Posted 10 December 2016 Posted 10 December 2016 Who gives a shite if he is a leader off the field? I think people are going mental in here due to the lack of our results. As long as the captain commands respect on the pitch and is able to rouse the troops and relay the managers words then it doesnt matter what he is like off the pitch. As for who, well Id give it to Danny. Im not a fan of GKs being captains hence leaving out Kasper but Danny in the middle of the field can lead by example. It may even raise his game a level.
Aus Fox Posted 18 December 2016 Posted 18 December 2016 Kasper showing at half time today why he is the logical next captain. A leader in every sense.

Russell sprout Posted 18 December 2016 Posted 18 December 2016 Kasper all the way, you've on gotta see zieler in goal to realise how much of a leader Kasper is,and he showed today his leadership by getting the players off at half time when we could easily have talked ourselves into another red card

Totally agree - the way he made sure the players, Claudio and staff did not create more difficulties for themselves by hounding the referee at half time showed admirable maturity and self control. Most of us would have had a go at Pawson after that shocking performance. Kasper knew this would do no one any good and better to use that anger positively in the second half. Not only did he talk the talk he walked the talk with his goalkeeping. He was immense. I think he is a potential Manager of the future. Thank goodness we have the best Goalkeeper since Flowers or even Shilton.
erlee Posted 18 December 2016 Posted 18 December 2016 >> Yeah I've noticed that when we score Kasper barely ever joins in with the celebrations with all the other players. Disgraceful attitude imo. so you want the goalie to abandon his post & run up field to join in the chorus?? have u ever seen goals conceded on kick-offs when opp. goalie runs up to celebrate?

EGBFitness Posted 18 December 2016 Posted 18 December 2016 Guess it depends who's at the club when we have to make the decision but by current squad it has to be Kasper - passionate, influential and dare I say it loyal. Our performances since he has been out and how he was at half time shows he is a leader, I know he does a lot of the pitch too in terms of being a voice for all the players & attending meetings etc

Just the job Wes should be doing all the time. Just backs up why I think he is so wrong for the job. A leader of men Wes is not.
norwichfox Posted 18 December 2016 Posted 18 December 2016 He'll be joining us in the next transfer window, not sure how Chelsea will cope without him........but if it falls through...Kasper's a natural for the job.
dynamark Posted 18 December 2016 Posted 18 December 2016 Kasper must have been taking the chill pills cos he has had his own moments of madness. Looked better with him yesterday though
