I read elsewhere that he actually is - so someone somewhere is wrong.

He was in the fall, but not on the one released  February 1 (even though there were 3 free spots-one of the smallest squads in the premier league, and we were in Europe!):

*Marc Kevin Albrighton, Daniel Amartey, Yohan Benalouane, *Daniel Noel Drinkwater, Christian Fuchs, *Benjamin John Hamer, *Robert Huth, *Andrew King, Riyad Mahrez, Nampalys Mendy, *Westley Nathan Morgan, Ahmed Musa, Shinji Okazaki, *Kasper Peter Schmeichel, *Daniel Peter Simpson, Islam Slimani, Jose Leonardo Ulloa Fernandez, *Jamie Vardy, Molla Wague, Marcin Wasilewski, *Ron-Robert Zieler

Reading those comments from Barnsley fans makes me very happy.

Bloody hope we give him a run in the side next season, too good to let go.

Mendy and King out, James back in.

His last game for Barnsley this week. It would be nice to see him get a run out with us before the season ends.

I always liked Matty in our team and I think he learned a lt from Cambiaso.

He won't be able to join us until our seasons ends

Isn't Drinkwater carrying an injury and has also looked tired. If the rules state Matty can't play then that is that.

But if he can play then we should seize the chance to find out if he can play at Prem level again.

James was always ahead of Drinkwater before his injury and I for one look forward to him regaining his rightful place in our starting 11.

If Drinkwater wants to start in this side next season he will need to work for it.

Nothing like the same player imo. they complimented each other in our promotion campaign and can do so again. This assumes MJ can get to the fitness levels required in the prem.

See above. He’s not on the 25-man squad submitted to the Premier League on February 1, so he can't play. Barnes, who is under 21, might be able to.

Good Answer, I hadn't thought about the Panel system. Surely theirs some allowance made for players coming back from Injury. Although he has been on loan for most of the season.
