Mike Oxlong Posted 13 December 2016 Posted 13 December 2016 Should save the diesel for the bus and send the players to Fosse Park with the Wags
Ashley Posted 13 December 2016 Posted 13 December 2016 Sat up the White House the day before Hull and a friend turned a said to me Leicester won't win a game from home in this next Season. He's right so far.
dave982 Posted 13 December 2016 Posted 13 December 2016 The biggest cause for poor away form is disharmony within the squad. Players are with each other overnight or for longer periods of time.
Dan Posted 13 December 2016 Posted 13 December 2016 It's somehow even worse than two years ago. I remember two years ago I got to Christmas time having done every away game bar Stoke, and I'd seen us lose 8 out of 8 Lose this weekend and we've somehow managed to outdo even that, with a team that won the league last year. We haven't even lead away from home since that Sunderland game, let alone won it. The manner of it too is unbelievable. We have been absolutely turd in literally every one of them except Spurs.
Guest Col city fan Posted 13 December 2016 Posted 13 December 2016 As I said months ago, I don't think we'll be relegated. The fortress KP will hold strong enough for us to be ok. We'll get Drinkwater back and probably Mendy and will have enough at home. The real concern for me is how we are playing away from home and that the 'Tinker man' hasn't tinkered nearly enough to set us up to not be so dominated in the midfield. The away form is the second worst in the division and it's no surprise to me. None at all.

How the actual **** have Burnley managed to get down to a worse GD than us away from home with two defeats less, after we've lost 4-1 twice and 3-0?

NewEnglandFox Posted 13 December 2016 Posted 13 December 2016 We have now conceded more away goals (19) in 8 away games than we did all of last season (18). We took 39 points on the road last season. The maximum we can take this season is 34 having only taken 1 point in 8 games.
Sammy Posted 13 December 2016 Posted 13 December 2016 It was clear 442 did not work away from home in September against Liverpool. We now only have 1 more away game until the new year and if we don't change something then we will be relying on our strength at home to avoid the drop. It's getting ridiculous
marbles Posted 14 December 2016 Posted 14 December 2016 I can understand some of the disappointment, however I saw things that were encouraging. Vardy seemed to be running a lot more and fighting harder to get the ball. Mahrez actually attempted to pass the ball to Vardy - hell, Mahrez actually tried to pass rather than attempt to dribble around the entire opposing team. The defense is looking better - a month ago, this defense would have let in three goals during the first half. For some reason we struggled against Bournemouth in both games last year, so this really waset a surprise.
harpendenfox Posted 14 December 2016 Posted 14 December 2016 There has to be an element of the psychological to this. At home, if you take the season as a whole (granted Boro and Baggies were far from great) we have looked like a reasonable Prem team. Away from home it is still 11 vs 11. The pitch is roughly the same size. There are two goals. Yes I agree the formation is wrong, we need more strength in the middle of the park, but just as important is mindset. Regardless of the opponent, we must press like hell from the first whistle, otherwise we cede the initiative. We have to be full of energy from the very first minutes, or else it is groundhog day
Tuna Posted 14 December 2016 Posted 14 December 2016 We've only scored 6 goals away from home all season, 2 of which were penalties, 1 practically an own goal (Lucas against Liverpool) and consolation goals against United and Sunderland when the game was already lost. Most of these goals were in the second half as well. Musa goal V Spurs came from an error. We're not creating chances and obviously not scoring goals. Ranieri needs to take his head out of the sand and realize what is going wrong. It seems he's playing for a 0-0 or a grubby 1-0 and his tactics have been found out and nullified. He needs to find another way because the away form is going to get us relegated. As soon as we conceded last night it was game over. Nobody needs to work hard to beat us anymore. They were crap but we were worse. The possession statistics are beyond embarrassing as well. And before I'm accused of being a Spuds fan, we ain't using out 12% possession to win matches.
foxy boxing Posted 15 December 2016 Posted 15 December 2016 the players are too cosy, they like their home comforts . you would think we could hit teams on the break more away from home but everyone and his dog has worked us out now and we don't seem to have a plan B. we need to out muscle teams in midfield and get the balls to our forwards more. playing without the ball is a lot more exhausting for the players and this season we don't have enough fitness in the team

Koke Posted 21 December 2016 Posted 21 December 2016 Last season Sevilla didn't win a single away game (10 defeats & 9 draws) and they still finished 7th. Their home form must have been absolutely immaculate.

China Black Posted 21 December 2016 Posted 21 December 2016 One away win..... and it would change everything.
