Michael Keane

I can see why Burnley would sell.

Keane has 18 months left on his contract and if they don't sell him this window then in the summer Keane might just decide to see his contract out and leave on a Bosman in 2018.

18 months left on a contract might be the pivot point when the power begins to swing from the club to the player.

Especially as they are nearly safe this season. Cash in on Keane now and not lose him for a smaller fee in the summer or next Jan.

Would be a perfect signing imo so hope there's something in it.

that comes down to 'who do I believe - Geoff or someone on Bentleys?'

clearly isn't the same player and he will cost more than 18mill and we wouldn't have failed to agree terms with him

NEXT!

Might not necessarily be about the wage. His agent may be insisting on a release clause, which considering we'be been stung recently by this, we are not willing to do.

After how this transfer window has been going, it's difficult for me to get very excited at "news" like this, but I do hope it's true.

I'm very happy with our transfer window so far.

We've signed one of the best teenagers in the world in Ndidi for £15m and almost broke even by getting rid of deadwood in Schlupp and Hernandez.

There are still 10 days left and I think only 14 players incoming so far for PL clubs so we're still ahead of the curve.

I'm concerned about our defensive situation. We need at least one CB and hopefully a RB and am just starting to get a little nervous.

But also this.

The weird thing about our defensive situation though is that Amartey and Ndidi can play CB if required and Amartey can also fill in at RB. So we are sort of covered. But they're not ideal replacements in those areas. We need specialists who can cover in those positions, not those who can 'do a job' there.

I did fancy us to go all out for Trippier but I can't see Spurs letting him go either Jan or the summer, especially considering the recent rumour about Kyle Walker and Man Utd. I think Walker would jump ship if Utd finish top 4 and Spurs don't win the league.

If we did manage to nab Keane in this window I do think it would go a long way to addressing our defensive frailties. After hearing about Acerbi on Thursday's RL Boot Room l would be quite pleased with him too. Both could be brilliant signings and would give Claudio a nice problem to have.

But we'd still be short of a good RB to challenge Danny Simpson.

I've given up on signing him, he'll go to a big club in the summer.

Would love it if it's true, but I can't see it. Hope we do have deals in the pipeline though, I'm starting to get very concerned about our defensive options (or lack thereof)

Rudkin?!

Respectfully buddy, you pass your posts off as statements of fact which they might well be - I presume you do so in this tone and style because you have solid connections at he club and know exactly what's going on?

And I'm done here. It's been emotional.

Keep the faith.

Signing off.

I'm not harassing you or being rude if you have connections in the club and are divulging what little you can then cool? I'm just trying to work out if you are a WUM or just a helpful insider.... I know not what you are.
