foxes21 Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 Looks like a 4-3-1-2, we tried it against Stoke. Kasper Simpson, Morgan, Huth, Fuchs King, Mendy, Amartey Mahrez Okazaki, Ulloa Would have played Drinkwater instead of King, but it's still a decent line up. Unlucky on Gray & Chilwell, but Fuchs/Ulloa/Okazaki should be more fresh.
Tielemans63 Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 Seems like a team picked to not lose. Hope I'm wrong but can see this being a stinker of a game. That said, if Mahrez can occupy their defence and Leo can cause a few problems in the air / from set pieces and we nick a result then who cares? Still think a successful midfield diamond is a myth but hopefully the lack of width will do us a favour.
Fox 4 Life Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 Genuinely can't see where the goals are coming from so assume we are going for a draw here.

Guest CityFan 06 Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 Okazaki can be pivotal away from home, links up our play so hopefully going forward we won't become too isolated.
dannythefox Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 Could end up with egg on our face with 4 changes. A winnable game has now turned in to 50/50.
Guest Danny Clender Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 Much preferred 4-4-2, hahaha, errrrrr let's hope this isn't 4-4-2 Does look like a 4-3-3 or 4-3-1-2, bring it on!
norwichfox Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 Looks like we're going to try for an FA cup run knowing Everton are beatable currently.

Games like this are a good example of being able to use the depth of your squad. Now we shall see if our squad is any good!

foxes21 Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 my only concern with this line up, is King and Amartey are sideways/backwards passing midfielders. Amartey less so than King, but if this formation is to work we need to get the ball to Ulloa quickly so he can hold the ball and then Okazaki/Mahrez can play off him.
kingfox Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 That would be a good team if you're playing walking football. Where's the bloody pace
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 OOOOOOOOOOH HIS NAME IS LEONARDOOOOOO
Marshall Cockney Fox Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 Sorry but I am not impressed. Other than injury/llness we should be trying to tap into the last games momentum. None of them should be exhausted as they've all had breaks. We have utterly dropped gear there and will likely hand initiative to Boro.
hejammy Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 Bloody hell! Moaning before we've even kicked a ball! Get behind the team! At least it's a formation change from 442! Cummon Citeh!
Barky Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 Same people moaning about us playing two in midfield all season are now moaning because he's switched it to three and they've realised they don't like how it looks Damned if you do, damned if you don't

Where's the bloody pace A fai argument, but if Boro sit back and let us have the ball pace going forward might not be that vital. Okazaki & Ulloa both have good movement off the ball, so I'm sure they'll cause them problems.
Guest Posted 2 January 2017 Posted 2 January 2017 4-3-1-2 seems most likely but if amartey was played in cb then this could easily be 5-3-2

Totalled agree, the way to beat teams like Boro that setup well at home is to attack them with pace, we have no vardy and gray, Musa and albrighton are not starting. Makes no sense.
