KrefelderFox666 Posted 4 January 2017 Posted 4 January 2017 What about considering three at the back? That way everyone wins (by everyone I mean Huth and Morgan)

To many sentimental people about.

The man who's played 81 games (swear that's the number i heard) running in the Premier League and was absolutely brilliant last season, dropped Form may not be great right now but if this new lad just walks into the side I think it'd make everyone scratch their heads i.e. why did it take Gray so long to start playing regular minutes, and Kaputska none at all? Yet new centre back strolls into the side Wait 'till summer before deciding on partnerships. I tell you what's bad for morale - conceding goals from long hoofs forward.
lgfualol Posted 4 January 2017 Posted 4 January 2017 Got to be Huth. Morgan has been awful and like others have said, he looks lost without Huth. I can't see Ranieri dropping him though.
Guest NGoloMode Posted 4 January 2017 Posted 4 January 2017 Morgan and Huth need extra help to do well in the PL. Kante in midfield or 3 at the back during our great escape. Huth is the better player I think.
Koke Posted 4 January 2017 Posted 4 January 2017 The Kevin Mirallas goal we conceded the other week was a standard League 1 goal. Hoof down the middle by their keeper and Morgan and Wasilewski looked bemused and didn't deal with it. Lukaku's goal was basically him making Morgan look like a Championship defender. Huth is so bad on the ball but he's a much better defender than Morgan.

He's not gonna play a dangerous pass forward if he doesn't think he can pull it off. He'll just head/kick it out for a throw/corner. Morgan is a fantastic blocker of shots but the other parts of his defensive displays ask a few questions.
Stadt Posted 4 January 2017 Posted 4 January 2017 If we sign Nastasic/Acerbi then it should be Morgan being replaced, Huth has always looked more assured defensively and Morgan looks worse without with Huth. In the summer I'd like us to sign a replace for Huth too. Theyre outstanding when they're defending deep and just heading away crosses, blocking and clearing but as a side we have to transition in to being more possession orientated because teams sit deeper against us now and concede the ball. Huth and Morgan are too slow and too poor on the ball to enable us to play like that unfortunately.
BigWesMorgan Posted 4 January 2017 Posted 4 January 2017 He isnt going to drop his captain though is he
Leamington Fox Posted 4 January 2017 Posted 4 January 2017 I think both have played much better in recent games. On balance, I would probably stick with Huth and Morgan as the starting CBs until the end of the season. For me, Kasper is the skipper from the start of next season, on the basis that Morgan is unlikely to be a regular by then. If I had to drop one of them now based upon performances, it would be Morgan.
Guest Lako42 Posted 4 January 2017 Posted 4 January 2017 Can't believe the criticism of Morgan from Leicester fans. The bloke has been an absolute rock for us over a long period, he is a great defender who is having to adapt. Huth is no longer the better defender because he cannot actually legally defend in the style he's renowned for.

crazyleicester Posted 4 January 2017 Posted 4 January 2017 I think both Morgan and Huth would benefit from having a rest. I also think they would benefit from a different type of defender next to either of them and by that I mean someone with a tad more pace and someone who can use the ball. I know most in here would prefer Morgan out but that dude has just not stopped playing football. Didnt he play two International comps the previous summer and CR came out to say he expects him to blow up at the start of 2016 so will be rested. He didnt get any rest and in fact was wheeled out to all sorts last post season. The bloke has probably played more games than any of our squad in the last 24 months and for someone in his position and age, thats madness. To answer the OP it all depends on who we sign and if we can get some rest in the players. Preference is for Morgan who on his day is not a strikers favourite opponent. Huth also looks like a timebomb when it comes to giving away penos or getting sent off so slight preference for Wes.
rn9013 Posted 4 January 2017 Posted 4 January 2017 For me it is Huth all day long. Huth is a better player than Morgan. I agree with what someone stated above, Huth knows what he's good at, but more importantly he knows what he's not so good at-not knowing this has cost Morgan (and thus the team) on a number of occasions this season. I dont want to detract anything from what Morgan has done for us, he has been great and will forever be a legend for captaining THE premier league winning side. But for me this season he has looked lost at times. The trouble is he is the captain of the football club, which makes it harder for Ranieri to drop him I suspect.
daverollo Posted 4 January 2017 Posted 4 January 2017 Huth clearly is the better defender and organiser, Would like to see Hernandez given a chance alongside him and give Captain Morgan and much needed rest - Everton game ideal for that.

I'm not buying the morale stuff, if we sign a new centre back for £10m + then he's going to play, if he has to drop Morgan or Huth then he will regardless of the captaincy.

We thought he wasn't going to try a different formation. We thought he wasn't going to keep Chilwell in the team after Everton. Our manager is ballsier than a lot of our fans seem to think.
ZeGuy Posted 5 January 2017 Posted 5 January 2017 Huth any day. Still don't understand why we still didn't see a HH (Huth-Hernandez) pair until now. Or did we?
foxy boxing Posted 5 January 2017 Posted 5 January 2017 Big Wes has played an awful amount of football over the years without being taken off and it would be nice to be able to give him a rest now and again without it being detrimental to the team
bigDfox33 Posted 5 January 2017 Posted 5 January 2017 Morgans run ragged and has played every game for the last 2 seasons or so, which is probably the reason he is making the odd mistake here and there with no rest, he even did the international duty for jamaica so im not surprised if CR is looking for a replacement, even if its just to swap and change and give big wes a well deserved rest from time to time. Regarding who is going to be captain next....? Drinky Kasper Fuchs Vardy??
