ASTON VILLA have reportedly offered Jack Grealish in exchange for Middlesbrough forward Jordan Rhodes.

Rhodes, 26, has barely featured for Middlesbrough this season, making just two top-flight starts for Aitor Karanka's side.

regarding the comment we need some in the last night, and a pass forward possession type player. Spot on. Hope the deal gets done, he's proven in this league with a poor middlesborough team

That's the sort of move that will get the whole domino effect going. If that one gets off the ground then we'll probably see a whole load of moves go through.

Certainly heard worse suggestions. He's been playing well.

Not according to my mate who is an Ipswich st holder.

I know a Boro fan and he can't wait for Ramirez to go! He says he's a waste of space and would be delighted to see him go. Doesn't sound like the sort of player City need.

And yet other boro fans have said he's their best player...  go figure!!

I wouldn't worry too much about it - We've got people on here saying that Mahrez should go and is a waste of space

It's difficult, as opinions will always be divided, unless it is someone who is absolute class. He has been down the Boro regularly but it depends on how he sees the game! It's like the Ivanovic scenario, there is plenty of division on that thread too!

Some players divide opinion. A lot of our fans thought Knockaert was the best thing since sliced bread. Admittedly he could be a match winner, but I never got the true extent of the hype while he was here.

Ramirez is a quality player. Can't imagine why any Boro fan would want rid of him. Apart from perhaps Traore (when he stops being a headless chicken), we have no other creative players.

Very true. I liked Knockaert to be honest and as you rightly say, he could be a match winner. I also can see it from your view and that of many others by the hype around him. Is Ramirez any good? I couldn't tell you and all we have to go in is the opinion of the Boro fans. If he is good enough and will give us the creativity we need, pen him up, but he also appears to have been carried quite a bit too. The thing that frustrates me is why didn't we go for Sneiderlin? Quality player, good midfielder and a bargain at £12m! (I think!)! Tie into that prem experience, was outstanding at Southampton and would have improved our squad.

I am struggling to see why we keep looking abroad for the next 'whoever' when we could be getting in some quality experienced prem players for less than what we'll pay for some overseas player who will take time to adapt. We need people coming in who will hit the ground running, the sooner we start accumulating points the better.

I think Knockaert has been better for Brighton this season than he was for us. I think he's matured as a player. Schneiderlin went for £22m. I'm with you that we should try to bring in players that have played in this league as well as signings from abroad. Stoke have struck wuite a good balance in that respect recently.

I'm sure his judgment hasn't been clouded by him slapping in a transfer request.

I doubt that will have helped but he said this before Ramirez handed in the transfer request. It is his opinion, so if we got him in then he gets as much support as any player City sign, just have to see how it goes. The same with Kante, I don't hold a grudge or think less of him, he just wanted what City couldn't offer him. Regular Champs League and challenging for the title on a regular basis and having Conte as their manager may have also swayed him. I personally wanted him to stay.

I think he is really starting to develop into a fantastic player, as you say, due to him maturing. Stoke are a benchmark for City, stay in the prem for a long period and do quite well without too many regular relegation issues. Talking of Stoke - Bojan?

Hope you're right, more than happy to apologise for my impatience, however Rudkin does have some history when it comes to the end of transfer windows.

He loves an apology.

IMHO looks like we have done what we need to do and it is a question of Boro sorting out what they need to do to replace him. Think as those in the know have pointed out it just takes a few things to fall into place. If it went through last week and we paid between 12-15 million for him whoever Boro are after suddenly goes up in price and they seem to have a few options so think it just a matter of them sorting out something for a Bojan or a Grealish. After all there had no contact between Us and Boro according to them  we had not made any approach yet within minutes of him handing in a transfer request we have a bid turned down funny that.

Leicester are expected to increase their efforts to sign Middlesbrough forward Gaston Ramirez over the weekend.

The Premier League champions have already had an offer of £12million for the 26-year-old turned down by Boro but Ramirez has reportedly handed in a transfer request in an attempt to force a move to the King Power Stadium.

The transfer window closes on Tuesday night, around an hour and a half after Leicester's league match at Burnley, and manager Claudio Ranieri is keen to reinforce his squad with Ramirez, who only signed a permanent deal with Boro last summer, top of his wanted list.

Ranieri would not talk about any specific players following Friday night's FA Cup draw at Derby but he said: 'Yes it is important (to add to the squad), of course. I will now speak together with my sporting director to see if there is something good. If not then okay.

'I was so concentrated on this match I didn't think about the market. Now my mind is going to Burnley because it is a very important match.'

I believe gaston Ramirez will stay with Boro. Looks like our deal for bojan has fell through and unless we get another cam I don't think we will sell.

I would rather we get a defender in, but it would be awfully disappointing if Ramirez fell through. Would offer more than Shinji right now and takes a lot of pressure of Mahrez.
