Gaston Ramirez

Perfect game for someone that can slot in between their midfield and defence and get on the half turn- huge gaps in there.

Someone tried to tell me how Okazaki is better and Ramirez wouldn't get in ahead of him yesterday

You could see the difference Mahrez had. We had someone who could hold onto the ball and look comfortable, without passing backwards or launching it forward. We need more players like that and Ramirez ticks those boxes.

get him signed up! Then a minimum of 2 defenders!

In fairness I don't think Ramirez is that much of an upgrade nor will he take us to the next level. But, it's about time we had a bit more class and precision in the final 3rd and I think he brings that

He would have scored that Okazaki chance 100% and been more productive with the ball instead of falling on his Arse all of the time.

Thought Shinji did alright tonight. Just has to score a chance like the one he missed

I love Shinji, I really do, but he's got to be more precise with his finishing. He fluffs so many chances. And he does fall over a lot. Ramiez looks like he will be what we need going forward....

I would be ok with the Ramiez deal falling down though if it means we could get a halfway decent CB half. The defense is giving me nightmares.

He never does though. That is the problem. I also think someone with more quality would create more chances and do better in certain situations than he does.

Can never fault his effort and desire, but he just doesn't have the quality and we can't afford to have him in the team if Vardy continues to play so poorly, as we need as many natural goal scorers or creators as possible.

I love Shinji but he goes from the suplime to the ridiculous in seconds - you would have thought he'd have purchased some boots with studs on by now

If you could ever sum up Shinji in one play, it was that run in the first half, where he broke free with the ball, looked in complete control and instead of playing a nice pass or shooting... He fell over.

Shinji definitely drives us forward and gets us into better positions, but he just doesn't pick the killer pass. In the first half he broke forward a couple of times and there was a pass onto Vardy who was in and he couldn't pick it. Personally think Gaston would do better in those positions.

He doesn't want to live in London (I've lived there once myself for a few years and I don't blame him), his family is based in North Yorkshire and settled. He doesn't want to move is perhaps the more fitting thing to say.

He won't get paid more at West Ham unless they really push the boat out. We know from a good source that we have already spoke to his agent and agreed terms in principle so we won't need to battle them on wages.

Usually I'd agree with your sentiment, lot of players would rather play in London than in the North East but going by what we know through a source, that's absolutely not the case this time.

Looks like your source was spot on with their info

Lot of sources seem to be well off this week. We were sposed to be signing a CB this week as well as Ramirez apparently..

We also have the 18million pound 'Mystery man' that no one still has a clue about :P

if we don't sign Ramirez for whatever reason, maybe recalling Tom Lawrence is a possible alternative? He plays CAM

Certainly heard worse suggestions. He's been playing well.

then again if Kapustka can't get on the bench I dunno what chance Lawrence has!

If the players are incapable of playing a 4-3-3 with one striker and two wide players, and we are stuck with the 4-4-1-1, then yes, i see some sense in bringing him back.

He could potentially offer more than Okazaki in terms of quality on the ball and scoring. I would worry he would come back and barely get a game though, but we are clearly after a no.10 type player and he is one and performing very well in the Championship.

Wish I had watched some of his games this season as could be a better judge. Hopefully we sign Ramirez though and Lawrence can continue to start every week for Ipswich and improve.

Middlesbrough rumoured to be looking at Jack Grealish - as a potential replacement for Ramirez possibly?

If true that's a worry as I think villa will not want to sell and the player may also need a lot of convincing

not sure there is time to do it and our deal
