The 2016-2017 LCFC team is failing because that continuity is absent. The mad tinkerer needs to identify his top squad and then make a concerted effort to begin playing them together as much as possible. If he cannot do it, it needs to be taken out of his hands, because his refusal to play his best in favor of sentimentality and his staunch belief he is but a formation change or substitution away from unlocking this team's talent is absolutely delusional. Slimani needs to play over Vardy. Musa needs to play over Vardy. Get rid of Vardy this trade window to someone desperate, he is not motivated, and he is not going to turn things around, and we have a shot at a spot of proper robbery in January compared to the summer window. Childwell needs to play, as do Ndidi and Mendy. We still need to see what the team looks like with its best midfielders playing with Slimani and Mahrez, something we could've learned a bit about today with Mahrez, Ndidi, and Mendy available. We need a CB and a RB. Frankly, we need two who can play, and we need some younger defensive talent for competition. Probably need two this window, at least two more in the summer window, if not more. Let this be a lesson: lavishly signing aging players based on what they have already done is a surefire way NOT to retain success the following season. Top sides need a balance of hard-working veterans, hungry youngsters, and everyone in-between. Overpaid, complacent vets destroy the clubhouse.

If you disagree with my explanation re Vardy's drop off, fine, but the fact of the matter is that Musa and Slimani are better able to deal with the service available. Vardy is invisible game after game after game. What he is able to do is very easily taken away at the moment. Leicester is much better able to provide for Slim's headers than what Jamie needs to be able to get behind the defense to breakaway and score.

I really hope the scouting team already has a number of defensive targets in mind and we are well on our way to signing some, as I find it very concerning that our first choice back 4, is looking pretty damn woeful. Even Fuchs, is struggling. Even if we have to go down the loan route, we must do some kind of business in the next week. We can't have the rest of the season with this back 4. Claudio talks about having cover with players like N'didi and Amartey, but we don't need cover, we need starters! On a side note - If we had been offered 40 million Euros for Vardy.... I just hope with Mahrez back and a no.10 coming in, we can give Vardy proper service and see if that will help him. If not, then you do wonder whether he will ever get back to the kinda form of last season.

shailen Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 We need aggression. I believe the squad is stronger than last year, but we need that to be high tempo and full throttle every game. That's when we are at our best

His only ability is to 100% guarantee he will get to the ball, but fall over in the process. If we get Grey and Mahrez pinging them into him in the 6 yard box we will score 4 or 5 a match

Clever Fox Posted 6 February 2017 Posted 6 February 2017 We need to go with Width. Width always brings Goals. Mahrez and Gray on the wings Slim and even Musa in the middle. Then DD NDidi and Alb in the middle Fuchs Huth or Morgan and Amartey for his pace. Kasper Against the top teams then I'd go for a tighter formation looking for Draws. We need to take the game to the opposition aggressively. Hassle and hurry them into mistakes. If we do that then I believe we can get the points we need to survive.
