It could backfire but at least they can't be accused of not doing everything possible to give them a chance. We on the other hand it's going to be very easy to point the finger if the unthinkable happens. Are we still too ignorant and arrogant or is it a case of we're seriously unlucky in the market? I would bet on the former given what's going on with us.

With the money splashing about £18m is small fry. For that money I can not see how it could back fire. Like paying £6m a couple of years ago.

Hernandez and Benny signing also seems to suggest this. Wes and Huth seem undroppable in Claudio's eyes and he is only interested in back-ups. What will get us relegated is a total under performance across the board from every single player front to back. The issue is not one or two players that you can replace and everything is rosy, signing a new CB isn't going to suddenly make the other 10 play well.

I guess with Morgan and Huth their advanced years mean that people may believe it's less a loss of form and more a terminal decline. I mean Huth on Friday looked like a pensioner, he could barely move!

Think it is probably a mixture of everything. The players only look half as fit as last year. The stats show that too. The stats shown from last year to this year shown on the bbc before the Derby game is frightening. At some point legs go and it is time to move on. Also how much of their defensive frailties were covered up by Kante last year?

The only positive I can see is we aren't getting so desperate we aren't going to get assraped like Palace are spending fortunes on average players that they can't afford, I really hope they go down.

Huth has always been a bit rigid, problem is that front to back the effort has dropped, tackles have stopped being made (they are down dramatically), which means the opposition are getting into positions we minimised previously and it's pulling the CB's around.

That's why I'm sceptical about one player making a difference.

He is not going to replace the 2 over the hill centrebacks costing us numerous goals already this season which makes it a thoroughly pointless signing and one which will see us relegated. We need to improve the team and not the squad.

Palace have just had a 10 million bid turned down for Mbodji as well. I don't see the tragedy here Matt 6 month loan with option to buy signed as cover..... can play right back and centre back like Hernandez allegedly could. There's not a problem here or a tragedy I don't think just a load of weird hysteria. Oh and have we learnt nothing from buying Vardy from Fleetwood ****ing Town - apparently not. We have been watching this guy for more than 3 days and when featuring for Mali must have showed something that interested the team.

This is a team problem not an individual problem the way I see it as every single player is affected by it.
