We're in desperate need of a defender and the best we can do is loan someone who can't get a game for a club bottom of la liga. Would have been laughable in the championship, that.

What happened to signing players better than we have already, are we seriously satisfied with what we have?

Except he's not at Granada. He's playing for Udinese, mid-table in Serie A. Ok, it's hardly still amazing, but they're a decent enough side.

Well, he's at Udinese... saying he plays is probably pushing it a bit. :D

*Cough* I was hoping that wouldn't be pointed out lol 30 odd games in 2.5 years isn't great is it. Not sure why I waded in anyway, I know sweet FA about his chap.

He looks good, very tall, looks strong and quite lean. Quicker than Huth and Morgan and he looks like he's got a bit more dexterity... looks more like a footballer than Morgan and Huth do. I reckon he'll be a great addition, hopefully he's very good for us and can then sign permanently. It'd be interesting to see whether Claudio drops Huth or Morgan for him, unless he goes 3-5-2 or something.

So if Wes and Huth get injured or banned, we have Benny and Wague as our CB pairing to help us survive relegation and try to beat Sevilla...  Just let that sink in lol

..Not that Wes and Huth leave me feeling that much better. Deary me.

I think once the AFCON is over Amartey will be playing centre back even if we sign someone else.

Probably right. He has played there every game for Ghana, so he knows the position well enough, and with N'didi and Mendy back, his opportunities in CM will be less. Hopefully he can be like a new signing for us and do a job there.

Very simple.

LCFC is not willing to pay , what better players would

cost. Therefore players, who would really improve

our team, are joining other clubs.

End of story.

20th wealthiest club aren't we? At the moment anyway, we shouldn't be searching for bargains at a jumble sale.

Yes, a wealthy club should never try and get a bargain.  What are they thinking?  Wealthy clubs should only pay massive amounts of money for every new signing.

If he's better than what we currently have (and I know nothing about him so can't say if he is or isn't) nobody will care less what sort of a deal we signed him on.

3-5-2? nah mate the players can't play any other formations nowadays. Even tho a large portion of this current side played other formations a couple years back and seemed fine

Not enough hoof and hope for me.   Bad signing as he will confuse our front line if he hits balls out of defence along the ground for them to run on to.

The outrage on here over a loan signing of a player nobody has seen play lollollollol, low risk who could turn out to be a gem that we'll make a permanent transfer in the summer.... if not and he is awful we just stick him back on the plane to Granada

I seem to remember signing an overlooked defender from a mid table team and he worked out ok. Huth if you recall. Hughes wanted ball playing centre backs so Huth was surplus. Maybe we should give this guy a chance.

Bang on

It amuses me how many slag a player off before any evidence of his ability has actually come to light.

Low risk too, as you rightly stated

ive told you before. the usual suspects in our back 4 are all good enough in ranieri's eyes.

therefore we will only get back up in the form of loan players.

probably our best option as we have to think twice about the wage budget given our possible championship tour next season.

also certain players may not want to commit to a sinking ship.
