nnfox Posted 15 February 2017 Posted 15 February 2017 Schmeichel captain. Morgan dropped. Vardy dropped. Drinkwater dropped. Mahrez dropped. Schmeichel Simpson Huth Benny/Wague Chilwell Albrighton Ndidi Mendy Gray Ulloa Slimani Bench: Zieler Fuchs King Okazaki Was Mahrez No nonsense defending. Break up the play in the middle, get it wide and put as many crosses in as possible. Bring back pizzas for clean sheets. Once survival assured, after Champions League Final and FA Cup final, transfer list all those players who haven't turned up this season.
Guest Mickyblueeyes Posted 15 February 2017 Posted 15 February 2017 If I was in charge? Firstly, I wouldn't handle the football side, I wouldn't have clue! So, I'd sack Ranieri and hire a proper manager with an idea of how we will progress over the next three years, regardless if we stayed up or went down. Also, sort the catering out. For a multicultral City. We don't half have limited options.

Play Slim, Huth and Was in every game and set league records for leg breaks, forearm smashes and red cards in what's left of the season. Deli Ali and Harry Kane ****ed for a start, we'll do Costa and that pratt Luiz as well. It's too late to crock Joey Barton, that's a shame, but snapping Lallana and Sterling in half and finally finishing Sturridge for good would cheer me up. While we're at it, we may as well let Wasyl retire on a real high - scissor tackling Jack Wilshire in to a hundred little pieces before clotheslining inevitable ref Jon Moss on his way off the pitch. Get in you beaut. We getting Chelsea in round six of the cup then? It's obvious. Schmeichel up front, huth down the wing, Vardy in goal with riyad as sweeper. No-one will see it coming - and since we keep hearing how we just surprised early last season and rode the wave we'll need that element of surprise back

foxy boxing Posted 16 February 2017 Posted 16 February 2017 have training drills regularly. defensive drills and get the attacking players playing five a side passing and finding each other regularly that when it comes to games it becomes second nature! defensive drills for the back four before each training session and afterwards getting them in synch with each other. get the midfield practicing passing the ball long balls, short balls medium balls.get the wide players practicing putting the balls into the box regularly. if these things are not being done already then what the **** is Claudio doing! just standing at the touchline observing them run around!

What the the immediate priorities? Who plays? How do you ask the team to play? and what do you set in place for the summer?.... backroom staff? playing staff? transfer policy? physical preparation? mental conditioning? team selection? tactical approach? PR messaging? fan engagement? points target? In the admittedly unlikely event that CR logs on the foxestalk it would be useful for us to provide him with the best options to secure survival and to take the club forward into next season. The serious side of this is that we have to believe that there is a way out of this mess... Allbrighton on the right wing so he can get to the byline and get some devestating crosses in on his stronger foot and Slimani upfront to feast on the half decent service.

The_77 Posted 16 February 2017 Posted 16 February 2017 Hilarious seeing suggestions that Wague goes into the starting XI. How many of us have actually seen him play?

Guest Col city fan Posted 16 February 2017 Posted 16 February 2017 1. Break up the horrendous centre back pairing. 2. Amartey at RB 3. King, Ndidi and Mendy in the midfield 4. Play Gray every game. 5. Always play Slim if fit. Go through the festering club with a fine tooth comb and get rid of some of the hierarchy.
Nick Posted 16 February 2017 Posted 16 February 2017 Suspend payment of first team wages for goalkeepers and back four unless they keep a clean sheet. Suspend payment of wages for all midfield and forwards unless a goal is scored. Send in a facilitator to work through any dressing room or social issues between the players.
Detroit Blues Posted 16 February 2017 Posted 16 February 2017 Go back to the 4-4-1-1 Schmiechel (captain) Amartey - Benny - Huth - Chilwell Mahrez - Ndidi - Mendy - Gray Okazaki Slimani I considered playing Albrighton over Mahrez, but I think that Mahrez can put in crosses, just as well as him. Plus both Mahrez and Gray offer you a lot more when they cut in towards net. The only downside is that Mahrez is more of a defensive liability than Albrighton, but at the end of the day we need goals. Ndidi and Mendy would work well together to sit in front of the defense and shield our god awful centerbacks. Okazaki will drop deep and help them out defensively, and he can also pass well enough to help spring the counter-attack. Hopefully Slimani is fit. I still think he could be a premier league quality striker with proper service. I just don't think he works as Vardy's partner. If we're going to try that, I think Ulloa is a better fit with Vardy. Perhaps Ulloa could rejoin the bench with Ranieri gone, as his main issue is a personal one with the manager. He could even start if we need rotation after midweek matches. Although Vardy, Drinkwater, Morgan, Fuchs, and Simpson would all be dropped from the starting XI, I think it's important that they be given the opportunity to earn their way back into the lineup. Perhaps a new manager, and some rest, would help restore their confidence and form.
st albans fox Posted 16 February 2017 Posted 16 February 2017 I would look at which players would really suffer if we are relegated (i.e. Those who probably won't get a move to a PL club) and I would build the team around them then we would see the effort to keep us up there are a few exceptions - players who really are trying despite ultimately being as well off if not better off should we go down (think kasper)
Ric Flair Posted 16 February 2017 Posted 16 February 2017 What on earth do we do without Slimani or Ulloa and Vardy so horribly out of form?
Thracian Posted 16 February 2017 Posted 16 February 2017 Can't imagine ever getting into the sort of shit we're mired in. Or scoring "nil" for two matches running.
Guest Col city fan Posted 17 February 2017 Posted 17 February 2017 Scant consolation I know, but as some of you know, I follow the Aussie A League. Pretty much the same thing is happening this season to Adelaide United. They came from BOTTOM of the A league last Christmas, to WIN the league. And now they are bottom again and can't buy a win. Bizarre stuff. They've stuck with their manager too I believe. Guillermo Amor.

We can play any combination of players infront of them, but if the back 4 can't even pass 10 yards foward, then what is the point. Wes, Huth and Simpson will get the ball, the opposition will know to close them down, and HOOF! Slimani already showed he rarely wins a long ball. The creativity of Mahrez and Gray is nulified by them not getting the passes to their feet and any long ball is easily dealt with and the oposition are able to win back possession and attack us. Same thing we have been seeing all season. Amartey and N'didi will add protection, but with no improvement in how we attack, the ball will just keep coming back. Well said 100% agree
foxinsocks Posted 17 February 2017 Author Posted 17 February 2017 Last time the derby game gave others a run out andwe returned to the usual players and style for swansea.... with expected result. At millwall cr has the chanfe to gind a coherent combination to defend.... to plsy thru mid field without hoofing. .. abd score goals In the subsequent games.. i would go with the players who show form and confidence. ..... i hope claudio does too. The past achievents are not an indicator we can rely on any more

Did you miss the Derby game? Alright quality-wise no one was special other than Gray but he showed 10 times more fight than i've seen from Drinkwater or Mendy (although obviously he's had minimal game time) this season. In a time where we need characters and players who actually care about the club, Andy King should absolutely be considered alongside Ndidi in the midfield.

mick47 Posted 17 February 2017 Posted 17 February 2017 So no ones got a scooby then. Until the " behind the scenes stuff " is sorted we're royally f****d. If there is any resentment, conflict or general dislike between players, manager or backroom staff then any change in tactical strategy, formation or player substitution will be like p*****g in the wind. You'd only be papering over the cracks, and we are way too far into the season to sort the real problems at the club. I sincerely hope I'm wrong but I fear if we do manage to avoid relegation it will be down to luck rather than team selection or tactical strategy.
