foxinsocks Posted 15 February 2017 Posted 15 February 2017 13 games left and you are handed control of LCFC. So what would you do? What the the immediate priorities? Who plays? How do you ask the team to play? and what do you set in place for the summer?.... backroom staff? playing staff? transfer policy? physical preparation? mental conditioning? team selection? tactical approach? PR messaging? fan engagement? points target? In the admittedly unlikely event that CR logs on the foxestalk it would be useful for us to provide him with the best options to secure survival and to take the club forward into next season. The serious side of this is that we have to believe that there is a way out of this mess...
Beachyboy Posted 15 February 2017 Posted 15 February 2017 I play Schmeichel Albrighton amartey benny chilwell grey ndidi Mendy Musa King Slimani I encourage king to do what he's good at get close to slimani when we are attacking late runs into the box. I tell Grey an musa to help out slimani while attacking 4-3-3 when defending 4-5-1. I tell Albrighton an chilwell the reason they are there is to have full backs that can actually pass a ball 5 yards, an also tell them that if grey an musa push to far forward that they should push up a little to close the gap providing the opposition don't have rapid wingers. It's 4-5-1 when defending 4-3-3 when attacking, minimum goal should be to get to HT 0-0 Subs Vardy mahrez Drinkwater Morgan Fuchs Ulloa Zieler I tell subs your goal should be to get back in the team an u will need to prove that in training for 2-3 weeks before u get a look in. The 1 out of those that responds first goes back in the team, dependant on performance of replacements. They need to be urged to perform better otherwise they will be sold to someone like Bournemouth in the summer as opposed to Arsenal. Either way I let them know that they are being sold in the summer an there performance between now an then will dictate where they go, players are selfish u have to phrase it in a way that they see the benefits for themselves. In summer bring in some younger centre backs bring back Lawrence, James
Ric Flair Posted 15 February 2017 Posted 15 February 2017 Offer them all 20 BMW i8's if they keep us up, 50 if they win us either cup as well as stay up. Then don't pay it them if they do sort themselves out and say it was a test.
MPH Posted 15 February 2017 Posted 15 February 2017 I would drop Vardy, play Musa, drop Huth and Play Benny, I would play a middle two of Ndidi and Mendy. I would drop Mahrez and play Gray., Drop fuchs and play chillwell. I'd go 4-4-2 . Not because i particularly like it but because they look pretty clueless playing anything else and i would tell them to fookin go for it! I'd leave vardy mahrez and drinky sitting on the bench with faces looking like a slapped arse and only bring them on IF needed, They want their place back? i'd make them earn it. I'd pick the 11 most hungry players and i wouldnt give a crap about reputations. with 13 games left i would want fighters in the team, technical players?. I want warriors, its no longer about ability, we need fighters.
STUHILL Posted 15 February 2017 Posted 15 February 2017 It's difficult with not knowing the truth about what, if anything, is going on behind the scenes. Is there some disruptors in there? Has Claudio lost part or all of the dressing room? Or is everyone just playing shit and no one knows why? Taking the rumours out of it and assuming there are no rifts between certain players or the manager, then you have to go purely on the form of the players and pick and drop accordingly. I totally get why Claudio persisted with the guys that performed so heroically all of last season. He has persisted too long though, but we still have survival in our own hands, no matter the fixture list. He rightly said after Swansea, that he has been to loyal to certain players, and I hope he is talking about all the ones who we see massively underperforming every week. The FA Cup was a breath of fresh air, seeing players like Benny and Chilwell and even Kaputska all doing well. It is time for a major shake-up. Some may see that as a risk, but it is a bigger risk not changing the team! 6 months sticking with them, and nothing has changed, maybe even gotten worse! Claudio has to bring in the fringe players and give him his full backing and support and trust that they can do a job for us. I'm sure he has our doubts, as we all do, but he has to do it and put faith in them. New starting 11: ---------------Kasper----------------- Wague--Amartey--Benny--Chilwell Albrighton---King---N'didi---Gray ---------------Mahrez---------------- ---------------Slimani---------------- I had to alter this a few times, as obviously we have no idea what Wague is like and so I started with Simpson, but he is the cause of so many of our problems, with his complete lack of passing ability and his constant floated hoofs! I also left Huth in but then remembered that he is looking so slow and cumbersome, any striker would have a field day against him at the moment. I was tempted to play Mendy instead of King, but I have not for a while, seen such a complete performance from a midfielder as I did from King against Derby, and so on that basis and also due to Mendy not impressing me much, he has to start and perhaps be given the Captain's armband again. Him or Kasper anyway. I'm also not keen on Mahrez in the number 10, even though I wish it would work, he just seems so easily pushed off the ball and runs into danger and loses it. Seems better on the wing with more space. I would perhaps try Kaputska there again for Millwall, and drop Albrighton, moving Mahrez to the right, but for league games, I think Albrighton's crossing and defensive work, would be useful with Slimani in the box and Wague at RB. The key for me, is at the very least dropping 3 of the back 4 and Gray has to start.

foxinsocks Posted 15 February 2017 Author Posted 15 February 2017 To keep us up I would play 442... like MPH(coz they can do it); I would play okizaki with slimani coz shinji presses. I would play grey, albirghton, mdidi and Drinky (I believe he can do it); and at the back Simpson, Amarty, Benny and Chilwell. I would play ron robert in goal... (kasper make s it too desperate) I would bring Musa on with 30 minutes to go. WE need a metailty that says "we can do it". They need to play it out and on the floor. I would bring in the shrink - to convince them they can do it. Vardy on paternity leave. Any moaners get sent to train with u21s Rudkin sacked. Get Col to work on summer buys; I will do the contracts myself to ensure no silly clauses and the right incentives - % of wage to be withheld for loyalty and paid on completion of contact period, signing a new contract or a sale.
Finnegan Posted 15 February 2017 Posted 15 February 2017 Go down with some ****ing dignity. Play Slim, Huth and Was in every game and set league records for leg breaks, forearm smashes and red cards in what's left of the season. Deli Ali and Harry Kane ****ed for a start, we'll do Costa and that pratt Luiz as well. It's too late to crock Joey Barton, that's a shame, but snapping Lallana and Sterling in half and finally finishing Sturridge for good would cheer me up. While we're at it, we may as well let Wasyl retire on a real high - scissor tackling Jack Wilshire in to a hundred little pieces before clotheslining inevitable ref Jon Moss on his way off the pitch. Get in you beaut.

AKCJ Posted 15 February 2017 Posted 15 February 2017 Kasper Simpson Morgan Huth Chilwell Ndidi Amartey Albrighton Mahrez Gray Slimani Square pegs in square holes. Everybody asked to do what they're comfortable doing. Ndidi and Amartey to protect the defence as though their lives depend on it. Mahrez to pick up the ball everywhere on the pitch. Albrighton to put some crosses into Slim's noggin from the right. Gray to make things happen on the left. Chilwell to play until Fuchs finds some confidence. Simpson to play because no other ****er knows how to play right back. Vardy and Drinkwater off the bench to seal games. Ulloa if he's needed. Basically that would win us the Champions League.

An Away Move Posted 15 February 2017 Posted 15 February 2017 Can't believe people are saying we should stick with 4-4-2 post Kanté. Some of us sound as inflexible as the players. At least we aren't professional footballers. They are and thus SHOULD be able to handle what Sir Claudio requests of them.

FLAN Posted 15 February 2017 Posted 15 February 2017 Slimani up front. Ndidi advanced midfiled role to break up play further up the pitch. Mahrez and Gray wide of him Drinkwater and Amartey centre mid Chilwell/Simpson full back centre backs is the issue. I'd be tempted to play waz for the character and aggression (plus red cards and lolz) slim gray/ndidi/Mahrez drinks/Amartey chilwell/ oaf/oaf/ Simpson kasper probably get overrun down the flanks but it would stop us being so easy to go through down the middle id also strip Morgan of captaincy

Still not seeing how anything other than a hoof is coming out of that back 4. We can play any combination of players infront of them, but if the back 4 can't even pass 10 yards foward, then what is the point. Wes, Huth and Simpson will get the ball, the opposition will know to close them down, and HOOF! Slimani already showed he rarely wins a long ball. The creativity of Mahrez and Gray is nulified by them not getting the passes to their feet and any long ball is easily dealt with and the oposition are able to win back possession and attack us. Same thing we have been seeing all season. Amartey and N'didi will add protection, but with no improvement in how we attack, the ball will just keep coming back.

filbertstreet Posted 15 February 2017 Posted 15 February 2017 bribe all the refs so we can play 4-5-3, bit of nitrous in the opposition changing room so they all pass out, should at least get a goal that way

The reason the defence hoof is because none of the midfielders are showing for the ball. I know it's an extreme example and we'll never be as good as them but the point stands... Every time the PSG or Barca defence got the ball last night, their midfield players were always on the move looking to find space to receive the ball. When you watch us, when our defence has the ball our midfielders turn away. Nobody in our team wants to have the ball. Even Swansea did it on Sunday. Whenever their defenders had the ball their midfielders showed for it. It doesn't take a Gerard Pique to make a 5/10 yard pass. Swansea defenders aren't the most technically gifted in the world but they were made to look good because their midfielders wanted the ball passed into feet. Recently Claudio tore into the players for not keeping the ball on the deck. I honestly believe it's all down to confidence. We need maybe 2/3 positive result on the spin and I think we'll be away. Say if we beat Milwall, get a decent result against Sevilla and then beat Liverpool.
Mike Oxlong Posted 15 February 2017 Posted 15 February 2017 Sue for breach of contract for being barely recognisable as footballers this season.
