Ric Flair Posted 15 February 2017 Posted 15 February 2017 Make Vardy wear a wrist cast again, make Mahrez wear gloves for the rest of the season and make Shinji grow that horrible hair back.
foxes21 Posted 15 February 2017 Posted 15 February 2017 a 4-4-1-1 which can transition into 3-4-1-2 during the game. we did this against sunderland in the first game last season. kasper amartey, wague, benalouane, fuchs albrighton, king, ndidi, mahrez okazaki slimani can transition into: kasper amartey, benalouane, wague albrighton, king, ndidi, fuchs mahrez slimani, okazaki

I know it's an extreme example and we'll never be as good as them but the point stands... Every time the PSG or Barca defence got the ball last night, their midfield players were always on the move looking to find space to receive the ball. When you watch us, when our defence has the ball our midfielders turn away. Nobody in our team wants to have the ball. Even Swansea did it on Sunday. Whenever their defenders had the ball their midfielders showed for it. It doesn't take a Gerard Pique to make a 5/10 yard pass. Swansea defenders aren't the most technically gifted in the world but they were made to look good because their midfielders wanted the ball passed into feet. Recently Claudio tore into the players for not keeping the ball on the deck. I honestly believe it's all down to confidence. We need maybe 2/3 positive result on the spin and I think we'll be away. Say if we beat Milwall, get a decent result against Sevilla and then beat Liverpool. As soon as we had Benny and even Wasilewski at CB, you could see they were much more confident in picking out riskier passes on the floor to the midfield. Wasilewski especially, seemed to pick out a number of neat passes into a crowded area of midfield. I would never expect or see Huth, Wes or Simpson attempt these passes, in the fear of losing the ball. A number of times against Swansea, I saw Mahrez make himself available for the ball, and Simpson simply bypassed him with a long ball. It probably is down to confidence, but that isn't going to change, as we have seen for 6 months Claudio barking out to keep the ball on the floor and time and time again, I have seen Wes, Huth and Simpson just unwilling to try pick out a pass on the floor into midfield. They would much rather try a long floated ball and avoid any risk and it of course is totally ineffective and leads to most of our problems.
yorkie1999 Posted 15 February 2017 Posted 15 February 2017 If money were no object, i'd say "right, from now till the end of the season it's a million quid per goal per player as long as the game is won"
jmono84 Posted 15 February 2017 Posted 15 February 2017 Schmeichel Amartey benny Wes chilwell N'Didi Mendy Gray King Vardy Slim Good team and decent bench too with Albrighton, mahrez and drinks. vards cant play up top on his own and mid/defence need help... it's close for me to start Albrighton on right instead and gray on left but I think vards will cause oppo more problems with him there mahrez hasn't shown any fight so needs dropping and drinks has been drastically out of form.
The Quick Brown Fox Posted 15 February 2017 Posted 15 February 2017 Play the majority of players that won us the league as they deserve the chance to turn it around.

murphy Posted 15 February 2017 Posted 15 February 2017 The trouble is no one really knows what has caused it so how do we fix it? The change I would make is to be aggressive and front footed. None of this defensive set up - we can't defend! For me it's a case of stick or twist. Stick and nothing will change so lets twist and just get at them all guns blazing, home and away.

I know that back 4 are poor but its out lack of scoring chances that p1sses me off. Whatever happens we need a closed season to get tge players fit

Even the opposition might knock a few in for us.
lgfualol Posted 15 February 2017 Posted 15 February 2017 Stop playing players that have been continuously shite for one. Every other club does it, why cant we? They're in reality very average players and when they don't play with fight then they're not even average. Who cares that Vardy will probably threaten to stab Ranieri with his chin, try your hardest or **** off.
Guest Bob Hazels shorts Posted 15 February 2017 Posted 15 February 2017 Take the entire squad on a bonding break and get the shrink Ken Way or similar back in for a few sessions Worried about the unsubstantiated Benny love-in Kasper 4 from - Simson Wague?? Amartey Wes Chilwell Gray N'Didi Mendy Albrighton 2 from - Ullua, Musa, Slim, Okasaki Vardy, Drinkwater, Mahrez and Fuchs licking wounds and hopefully biting at the bit. Huth is sadly looking heavy and cumbersome, needs a rest form playing maybe and revitalizing. Whack 3 of them into the ressies

sylofox Posted 15 February 2017 Posted 15 February 2017 yeah go in talk to the back room staff and find out who the brats are. Then get them together and tell them they have one game to show willing or they train with the kid's. They are either with the club and new manager or out. Our biggest problem is lack of effort. we don't have time to mess around. A bad game is one thing lack of effort is another. Have a spine and show some fight or feck off.
murphy Posted 15 February 2017 Posted 15 February 2017 Someone in another thread suggested making them watch back to back re runs of last year. I'd second that.
Kaewbudda Posted 15 February 2017 Posted 15 February 2017 They are too worried about conceding a goal so don't commit enough players to the attacks. This is like a boxer who has been knocked out and becomes gun-shy. We need to start like we're 2-0 down. Full backs have to support the midfielders and attackers. Throw men forward. Increase the intensity. The philosophy has to change. Morgan and Huth need to be dropped. Behind Kante they are absolutely brilliant, but with him gone we need to play the ball out a bit more. They lack the confidence to pass the ball around so perhaps Benny and Amartey would be better at the back. We need to attack, play with desperation and stop worrying about conceding goals. We used to do this before and I believe we will do this again. The team will not go down without a fight and when it gets really desperate they will just go for it exactly like they did before.

Is there some disruptors in there? Has Claudio lost part or all of the dressing room? Or is everyone just playing shit and no one knows why? Taking the rumours out of it and assuming there are no rifts between certain players or the manager, then you have to go purely on the form of the players and pick and drop accordingly. I totally get why Claudio persisted with the guys that performed so heroically all of last season. He has persisted too long though, but we still have survival in our own hands, no matter the fixture list. He rightly said after Swansea, that he has been to loyal to certain players, and I hope he is talking about all the ones who we see massively underperforming every week. The FA Cup was a breath of fresh air, seeing players like Benny and Chilwell and even Kaputska all doing well. It is time for a major shake-up. Some may see that as a risk, but it is a bigger risk not changing the team! 6 months sticking with them, and nothing has changed, maybe even gotten worse! Claudio has to bring in the fringe players and give him his full backing and support and trust that they can do a job for us. I'm sure he has our doubts, as we all do, but he has to do it and put faith in them. New starting 11: ---------------Kasper----------------- Wague--Amartey--Benny--Chilwell Albrighton---King---N'didi---Gray ---------------Mahrez---------------- ---------------Slimani---------------- I had to alter this a few times, as obviously we have no idea what Wague is like and so I started with Simpson, but he is the cause of so many of our problems, with his complete lack of passing ability and his constant floated hoofs! I also left Huth in but then remembered that he is looking so slow and cumbersome, any striker would have a field day against him at the moment. I was tempted to play Mendy instead of King, but I have not for a while, seen such a complete performance from a midfielder as I did from King against Derby, and so on that basis and also due to Mendy not impressing me much, he has to start and perhaps be given the Captain's armband again. Him or Kasper anyway. I'm also not keen on Mahrez in the number 10, even though I wish it would work, he just seems so easily pushed off the ball and runs into danger and loses it. Seems better on the wing with more space. I would perhaps try Kaputska there again for Millwall, and drop Albrighton, moving Mahrez to the right, but for league games, I think Albrighton's crossing and defensive work, would be useful with Slimani in the box and Wague at RB. The key for me, is at the very least dropping 3 of the back 4 and Gray has to start. Agree with the general thrust of your argument. Carry on doing the same thing and you'll get the same results. Time to give the fringe players a chance and show what they can do. And yes, the defence needs overhauling, I think most of us would agree on that.
FLAN Posted 15 February 2017 Posted 15 February 2017 I can't take any suggestion including King seriously. There isn't a less suitable player for a big fight.
